Back then, Lam Chun took over the throne and became Emperor Lam, while his younger brother Lam Chi was made the Duke of Southary and sent to guard the area.

However, the untold story did not slip the eyes of many.

Southary was a remote city; there was naturally nothing valuable to guard. It was just an excuse for Lam Chun to keep Lam Chi idle.

However, this was common in the imperial family, and even considered one of the best outcomes. Centuries ago, the Lam Clan members had to fight with their lives for the throne.

Thus, Lam Chun was considered generous by not taking Lam Chi’s life and even making him a duke.

Now that the duke who was left idle on purpose had returned silently…

Is the Emperor aware?

Confused, Lam Zaa replied with a nod and chased after the other participants who were walking away.

The participants made their way to the mid-sized field of the outer sect. To the outer sect disciples who entered the place calmly, this was a common activity to them, but it surprised the others as not many people dared to activate the teleportation gliph formation in South Imperial City!

Cheuk Kwun was obviously planning to get it done and over with as soon as possible, seeing how rapidly he drew the gliphs.

After a few times, he finished teleporting all the teens. When all clan leaders and other important figures entered, there was a long table on the field and teacups on the table.

Woo Nim waved her hand. She was still as polite and respectful as ever. “Everyone, please have a cup of tea.”

When the participants opened their eyes, they were welcomed by refreshing air that they would never get to experience in South Imperial City.

They were currently on a huge grassland, and in front of them were five huge straw huts.

No matter how arrogant or cold the teens were, they were still filled with curiosity and looked around the place, eyes shining brightly.

It was incredibly comfortable to be under the bright blue sky paired with warm, gentle sunlight that grazed the green grassland.

However, their eyes were on the five huge straw huts that were even larger than the outer sect’s small field. But other than their huge sizes, there was no difference from a regular straw hut.

In front of the straw huts were huge plates with numbers from one to five respectively.

As the teens were in deep thought, a tall chubby man walked out of the “three” straw hut. Others might not recognize him, but not the outer sect disciples who had tasted many delicious dishes made by him.

“Greetings, I’m Hui Sai Cheong, the third teacher, and I’ll be the host for today.”

The teenagers were surprised to see the man they’d seen in paintings come alive. Some were all pumped up while some were completely serious, and most were filled with respect.

“Greetings, Third Teacher!”

“It’s the third teacher!”

“Hello, hello.” The third teacher Hui Sai Cheong bowed politely to the teenagers, which shocked them. They were unsure how to react to this courtesy.

“Hehe, there’s no need to be nervous. Today is the day when my institution selects a new disciple, but do be at ease and be yourself. There’s more than one route in this world, and there’s no need to be obsessive about it,” Hui Sai Cheong said with a smile.

“The enrollment is simple this time around. There will be six stages in total, and the first five stages will take place in the straw huts, each with a Cloud Palace disciple inside as the examiner. Any participant who successfully leaves the hut will be considered to have successfully passed the stage.

“The last stage, which takes place after the great senior brother’s station, will be overseen by our master, which is called the Cloud Trials. I believe all of you are familiar with what the Cloud Trials are.

“Lastly, we will announce the selected participant on the Cloud Rank, and he or she will be our new junior sister or brother!”

Hui Sai Cheong stared at them with a smile of adoration and hope, as if they were young growing seedlings. The teenagers that he met eyes with looked at him excitedly as if they had been encouraged by him.

On the other hand, Kam Chin Kee was whispering to Chui Yim. “This man hides well normally… he did not deliberately activate it, but his great mental strength is silently affecting everyone around him.”

As if hearing Kam Chin Kee’s murmuring, Hui Sai Cheong took a glance at him with a smile, but that might have been unintentional.

Little Brother Chui, fighting! Hui Sai Cheong thought to himself.

“Now, may I get all of you to enter the straw hut? The examiner for the first station will be my fifth junior sister. As I’ve mentioned earlier, exiting the hut successfully symbolises that you have passed the station.

“Please.”

The straw hut opened up, and the teenagers were welcomed to a spacious interior. There were cushions placed on the ground neatly, and at the back was a woman sitting cross-legged with a slender guqin on her legs.

“It’s Fifth Teacher!”

“Fifth Teacher Wat Suen!”

The participants headed inside the straw hut and sat on a cushion randomly. Mung Si went for the first row and sat right in front of Wat Suen, her idol and someone whom she admired.

Not because of how talented Wat Suen was, but her incomparable willpower. Despite her disability, she was still determined in cultivation and fought through all hurdles to become Cloud Palace’s fifth disciple. This was Mung Si’s aim, to become as determined as her and be the best female cultivator in the world!

Another female cultivator, Ping Ching, reacted the same as Mung Si and went for the front row after greeting Chui Yim and Kam Chin Kee, as it was a rare chance that she could get so close to her idol. On the other hand, Chui Yim and Kam Chin Kee only went for a random seat. The same went for Yeung Tin Hun and Man Yee Ho, who were in green and red respectively.

After everybody had settled down, all of them focused on Wat Suen.
