Seeing the nonsensical couplet had Woo Nim burst out laughing, but the thought of her having to personally fetch the duo to school made her fume with anger.

That was the sight Chui Yim and Kam Chin Kee saw when they rushed out; Woo Nim’s face contorted with rage.

“What brings Miss Woo here? Please come in for tea.” Chui Yim immediately welcomed her.

However, the observant Kam Chin Kee’s heart skipped a beat. A furious Woo Nim was a first for him. “Miss Woo, is there something wrong?” he tested.

Woo Nim did not know if she should laugh or cry hearing Kam Chin Kee. “Why are the both of you absent from school!?”

“Because it’s a holiday?” Chui Yim looked at her, stunned. “It’s the Southern National Day today!”

Woo Nim had a superb temper, but she was so furious that she flared up, even pinching Chui Yim’s ears hard!

“What nonsense are you talking about! The Southern National Day is closely linked to the group competition segment of the inter-school exchange, thus it’s mandatory that all participants of the winning institution turn up at Evergreen Palace today! And now, you have the entire class waiting for you both!

“I specifically made an announcement for it in class yesterday! Are you both deaf?”

Kam Chin Kee was dumbfounded.

It was normal that Chui Yim knew nothing about the announcements made yesterday; he was never a hardworking student and spent his time in class thinking about his own cultivation, especially the bronze skin and True Domineer he had been cultivating recently.

On the other hand, Kam Chin Kee was a diligent student as well as Chui Yim’s homework answer provider who hardly missed any information. But this time, when his heaven grade puppet had reached an important step, Kam Chin Kee’s mind was filled with the thought of it and as a consequence, he missed Woo Nim’s announcement.

“Come with me now!” Woo Nim grabbed a student with each of her hands and started sprinting. The boys, who were held by their collars, tried their best to catch up with her like poor chicks, but all Chui Yim could do was marvel at how fast Woo Nim ran.

He immediately remembered the pain he felt when she pinched his ears as well as his powerful body after merging with Heaven’s Flame. Adding on the bronze skin he just cultivated, he could not be hurt easily.

Yet Woo Nim only pinched his ears previously… Well, the other classmates mentioned that they watched Woo Nim fight the giant demonic spider with her body…

Now, it all made sense to Chui Yim.

The other Cloud Palace outer sect disciples had lost their patience.

In fact, they didn’t have the right to attend the National Day ceremony in the palace. Only clan leaders, officials, generals, and other important figures were allowed. None of the younger generation held such major positions, and even the most talented teenager was not considered!

It was only because of the rules of National Day; only the winning institution of the inter-school exchange was allowed to enter the palace and receive commentary as well as praise from the emperor, a rule left behind by the former Emperor Lam to motivate the younger generation.

And as first place in the group competition, Kam Chin Kee was granted a face-to-face interaction with Emperor Lam and would be gifted a treasure. The treasure didn’t matter, what mattered more was the honor!

In other words, it didn’t matter who else in the outer sect was absent, but Kam Chin Kee had to be present!

Therefore, their classmates heaved a sigh of relief when they watched Kam Chin Kee and Chui Yim being pulled into the school by Woo Nim, and some were even amused to see their sorry state.

Woo Nim threw the boys on the ground before walking up to Cheuk Kwun calmly. Even Cheuk Kwun took this day seriously and changed out of his dirty robe and dressed in a clean white robe.

“Everyone’s here.”

“Mm.” Cheuk Kwun nodded. “Let’s head off then.”

Cheuk Kwun ignored Chui Yim and Kam Chin Kee. Seeing that they finally had everyone, he drew gliph strings all around and formed a gliph formation that wrapped around the students.

Currently at the Evergreen Palace, in the Hall of Affairs, it was busier than normal days. Not only did officials come, leaders of large clans like the Chor Clan, Wong Clan, On Clan, and so on came.

Even though the clan leaders had no authority, they still played an important role in the Lam Dynasty. Despite seemingly working hard just for themselves, clans were crucial during critical times, be it contributing to manpower, resources, money, and more.

Every clan leader and official was looking around curiously.

They were halfway through the celebration, and after the final segment, they would be able to head to the Imperial Garden for the delicacies prepared for them.

But they weren’t able to do so because… they couldn’t proceed with the last segment – commentary on the inter-school exchange winning institution – because the winning institution had yet to arrive!

However, nobody dared to utter a word when they remembered they were part of Cloud Palace. Cloud Palace didn’t interfere with worldly affairs, but they had status and capability enough for the world to fear them. They were also mysterious, so no one even knew the full extent of their capability.

Nobody knew how powerful they were exactly, they only knew that many elites who went to challenge Cloud Palace either came back seriously injured and were unwilling to make any comments about Cloud Palace, or they never came back at all.

There were seven disciples in every cohort, but who was their master? If all seven of them were elites, who was the principal, and who had the rights to teach them?

This sounded like a mystery, but everybody secretly had the answer to it – a six-chambered or ten thousand-gliphic cultivator. Only someone of this immortal state would possess the ability to guide Cloud Palace disciples who were in the five-chambered or thousand-gliphic state.

The younger generation looked up to this mysterious superpower and aspired to be one of them, but older generations were fearful of this superpower’s existence.

Just then, a eunuch hurried in. “Your Majesty, the Cloud Palace outer sect disciples have arrived.”

The crowd heaved a sigh of relief while Lam Zaa raised a brow. “Let them in.”

Soon, teenagers donned in clean white robes walked in, led by a man and a woman – Cheuk Kwun and Woo Nim.

“Greetings, Your Majesty.”

“No need to be polite.” Lam Chun smiled.

“I saw the superb performance from the Cloud Palace outer sect in this inter-school exchange. Cloud Palace indeed lives up to their name. I’m glad to witness the powerful growth of our younger generation and look forward to the update of the Blue Skies Rank.” Lam Chun turned to Cheuk Kwun, who pretended he did not hear him. Others might not know, but Lam Chun knew that this was the person who updated the rankings; Cloud Forest’s librarian was responsible for every rank.

“Please step out, disciple Kam Chin Kee.”
