“I can only familiarize it up till here…”  Mung Si whispered to herself, but it didn’t escape Kong Yau’s ears.

“What did you-” Kong Yau saw a blinding flash of light from Mung Si and boom! There was a burst of fire!

Abruptly, a pair of wings spread open a few inches behind Mung Si, and heat waves crashed down on the entire area. Kong Yau’s eight light beams vanished instantly!

Mung Si looked just like a goddess bathing in flames with a pair of phoenix wings behind her. Rising into the air slowly, Mung Si stared directly into Kong Yau’s eyes.

“Impossible! How did you have the time to draw your personal gliph…?” Kong Yau scowled, but she soon recalled the imperceptible rhythm in Mung Si’s steps as she escaped.

As a gliphist, Kong Yau had extraordinary mental strength and memory, thus she could replay the scene of Mung Si’s escape in her mind with clear details. Kong Yau soon realised there had been a subtle pair of phoenix wings behind Mung Si all along, and they emitted a strong aura!

So she was releasing energliph while escaping the entire time! Connecting this with Mung Si’s whisper, rage flowed through Kong Yau like lava!

“You were using me to practice your Heavenly Phoenix Pinion gliph!?” She clenched her teeth.

Mung Si remained silent.

Not many were aware that Mung Si created her personal gliph, Inferno Phoenix, seven days after becoming a single-gliphic gliphist. At this point, she was as familiar with drawing the Inferno Phoenix gliph as she was with the back of her hand. If Mung Si wanted to, she could have done so before Kong Yau even launched her first attack.

But just as Kong Yau mentioned, Mung Si needed to familiarise herself with her new Heavenly Phoenix Pinion gliph that suited her perfectly. Thus, she chose not to activate her personal gliph so she could try out this newly created gliph. Mung Si wouldn’t have activated her personal gliph if she wasn’t threatened by Kong Yau’s previous attack.

But Mung Si wasn’t looking down on Kong Yau. The other teenage girl fought like a typical gliphist – from a distance, rapid attacks but impactful. Coordinating with the Star Lock gliph, one could never let their guard down against Kong Yau.

A typical single-gliphic gliphist was said to be equivalent to a two-chambered glipher due to the impact of their attacks. It was a pity that a single-gliphic gliphist drew gliphs too slowly.

At lower states, gliphers gained rapid speed from their continuous training as well as breaking through their innate chamber. This allowed them to restrict the time gliphists had to draw gliphs. If gliphists were given ample time to do so, their attacks would surpass the gliphility of a typical one-chambered glipher!

In order to defeat Kong Yau, even Mung Si had to give it her all. The phoenix that flew out of Mung Si’s back left a solemn look on Kong Yau’s face.

This was Mung Si’s personal gliph – Inferno Phoenix.

Hearsay suggested Mung Si created Inferno Phoenix at the entrance of Blazing Skies Mountain’s Fateful Mountain Cave, where she studied the truth and meaning of fire under her clan leader’s protection. From there, Mung Si was enlightened by the intent of a phoenix rising from the ashes and came up with this gliph.

Unlike the Celestial Starmap gliph, Inferno Phoenix was not just an offensive gliph. The gliph-string phoenix was telepathically bonded to Mung Si; just a thought and the phoenix would leave a trace of fire in the air, attacking and defending Mung Si at the same time. It was both an offensive and defensive gliph. With this rare, powerful gliph, Mung Si did not need any other defensive gliphs.

Suddenly, a terrifying movement of energliph was felt, draining colour from the girls’ faces!

From afar, the girls saw an ocean blue wave-like energliph movement passing by. It left the girls in disbelief since the impact was much greater than what a one-chambered glipher could come up with! Someone in our generation made it to the two-chambered state?

After defeating Duen Por Do, Kam Chin Kee fixed his puppet on the spot before making his way to the eighth floor. It was only a simple repair, but it was ample enough to have the puppets working again. Especially for the red bird, which was badly damaged by Duen Por Do’s swordsmanship. It was once again able to fly in a straight line and act as a huge assassin weapon despite not being able to defend anymore.

The blue wolf was in a better state. Half of it was still in perfect shape, but many mechanisms were destroyed, leaving it as a solid shield at least.

Things were bad for Kam Chin Kee and it was unknown if he should’ve been considered lucky or not to come across two grade-two blood spectres instead of another participant as soon as he stepped onto the eighth floor.

Noticing Kam Chin Kee, the huge blood spectres came chasing after him so fiercely that he was sure they were coming for a fight.

With that, Kam Chin Kee got into a battle with two greatly damaged puppets. He no longer fought so relaxedly and started dodging. Even though the fights of Lam Zaa and Mung Si caught the eyes of most, a small portion of the audience focused on Kam Chin Kee.

The teen boy was like a classic textbook on dodging skills. Even though he seemed to take random steps, he managed to dodge every serious attack. Recalling his footwork, it seemed to be more complicated than they first thought. Kam Chin Kee made use of the blue wolf and red bird as well.

His performance surprised many!

His puppetry skills were ample enough to start his own faction, and his familiar performance during combat gave a slap to those who believed he was just a weakling who depended on puppetry during battle.

Both blood spectres growled again and again, but they were far from even touching the hem of Kam Chin Kee’s clothes!

After a long period of time, Kam Chin Kee managed to defeat one of them. He felt refreshed inhaling the huge amount of blood intent from it. “Hehe, you’re next!”

Maybe it was frightened by Kam Chin Kee’s ability or maybe his smile that left goosebumps on many, but the blood spectre with no intelligence trembled and, under Kam Chin Kee’s eyes, ran for its life!

“Hey! Come back!”

After a long chase, it led him to the current situation of meeting Lee Bak, Chui Yim, and Lam Zaa.

“What a coincidence!” Kam Chin Kee greeted the teenagers while he battled the blood spectre. It had the capability of a grade two gliphic beast, but not the intelligence. During combat, it stood rooted to the ground at times and it wasn’t sure how to fully make use of its strength. Kam Chin Kee had the upper hand.

“You made it, Chui boy.” Kam Chin Kee gasped.

“Of course.” Chui Yin sneered.

At the same time, the blue wolf attacked the blood spectre hard, causing it to turn into a ball of blood intent and enter Kam Chin Kee’s body.

The thick blood intent glowed so brightly that Kam Chin Kee looked like a man made of blood. As blood intent entered his body, the entire space shook, and the floating blood intent came to a halt.

Bzzz…

Everyone watched the blood intent move towards a single direction like there was a spiral sucking all blood intent in.

“A participant has met the requirements to enter the ninth floor. The door of blood intent will now be opened. The first participant to enter will clinch victory in this contest,” a voice boomed across the entire area.

Swoosh…

Sounds of someone dashing through the air could be heard, and soon Kong Yau and Mung Si arrived.

The words led everyone’s attention towards Kam Chin Kee, who was glowing with thick blood intent like a blood god.

He had stirred up the hornet’s nest!
