Even Fa Siu Siu nodded to herself. “It’s a strong chill-attributed gliphility; fast with a slowing and freezing effect. With some more improvisation, this will become a powerful gliph.”

As gliphism experts, they looked beyond the present, inspecting its potential instead. The Freezing Frost Blade was just a simple gliph; in terms of both its form and attack, but there’s boundless prospect for the gliph as Ha Yu Bing grows.

Grandma Chin Shu tried to contain her excitement, but the wide smile plastered on her face betrayed her as the other important figure rolled their eyes. It’s fine; continue pretending that you’re not satisfied with her performance; we can’t tell at all…

“Alright, next participant.” Grandma Chin Shu didn’t comment much about Ha Yu Bing’s gliph as she moved on to the next participant after Ha Yu Bing—Yuen Yau from the Apex Temple.

Unlike his principal, Mute, who cultivated the Silence style, Yuen Yau had a different style but was still a quiet teen. He softly uttered a “Pardon me” before showcasing his gliph. Gliph strings rose around him and started to form a gliph.

The gliph resembled three ancient stone doors, spinning around Yuen Yau continuously whilst the teen sat in the middle silently as if it was an ancient scene brought to the present.

“It’s a defensive gliph, the Three Lives Gate.” Yuen Yau didn’t further explain the gliph, only naming it.

“Oh, a defensive gliph?” The essential figures were slightly taken aback, as most teenagers preferred attack gliphs that were “cooler” compared to boring defensive gliphs. Having someone at Yuen Yau’s age research defensive gliphs was rare.

“Let me give it a try.” Sze Fung said as he flicked his left index finger. A ball of energliph the size of half a fist shot towards the Three Lives Gate spinning around Yuen Yau.

Bang!

As the host, Sze Fung carefully abided by the rules. After his strike landed against one of the gates, the energy and the gate vanishing into thin air. “Not bad,” Sze Fung said, a small smile forming on his face, “The three gliphs were presented as one gliph, but they are actually three different defensive barriers, and each can resist an attack of the same state. I guess the gliph can also move with the gliphist, right?”

Yuen Yau nodded, silently admitting it. The Wall Prison gliph, the most commonly used defensive gliph could only act as a stationary shield for young gliphists who needed time to draw their gliphs.

But it was a different case for Yuen Yau’s Three Lives Gate. The gliph had a strong defence, and each gate could block an attack of the same state, which means that the gliphist could resist three attacks with three gates. What’s better is that it followed the gliphist as they moved, which was not just rare among low-grade gliphs, but there weren’t even many high-grade gliphs with such characteristics!

“It’s the Apex Temple’s honour to have such a great disciple who could lead the South to prosperity in the future!”

Ha Yu Bing’s personal gliph was good, but if the rarity and grade of their gliphs were to be compared, the Three Lives Gate was superior to Ha Yu Bing’s Freezing Frost Blade.

However, Ha Yu Bing was unaffected, as the greatest gift to her was that she had created her personal gliph. Even victory wasn’t that important in comparison.

Furthermore…There were still two other monsters that she was competing with…

The two other nameless gliphists presented their gliphs one by one, but no matter how unfair they felt, their work was much worse when compared to Ha Yu Bing and Yuen Yau, with the latter’s performance still surprising the judges!

Now, only Kong Yau and Mung Si were left. With a gorgeous smile and soft voice, Kong Yau showcased her work. “Please inspect my work—Star Lock.” Without any action, gliph strings rose around her and took form. The process was so quick that the puppet in front of them was already coiled up by the glittering gliph strings in the blink of an eye.

“What a quick gliph.” Grandma Chin Shu gasped. Kong Yau’s gliph was a type of restrictive attack. Pleased with the reactions, Kong Yau continued calmly. “My Star Lock requires very minimal energy, so it takes less time to draw this gliph than most alternatives. The time controlled depends on the difference in strength between the gliphist and his enemy’s state. It’s half a second for enemies of the same state.”

“Well done!” Old Star Reacher laughed. “Indeed, our precious junior sister! The bald disciple from that random temple is no match for you!”

Mute glanced at him from his seat nearby but remained silent as if it was true. Star Lock was indeed superior to the Three Lives Gate because of solely one reason; its simplicity.

Star Lock was simple yet powerful, similar to the Hidden Cloud gliph, which was still widely used worldwide. The Hidden Cloud gliph only consisted of a few strokes, but it could keep the actual gliph hidden, which was a first in the world. No other gliphist had ever managed to create a similar gliph. This was what made the Hidden Cloud gliph first-class.

The ability of Star Lock was nowhere near the Hidden Cloud gliph, but it had a similar essence. Being able to locate and restrict one’s enemy within a few seconds was very beneficial to gliphist! If Kong Yau was willing to let her peers learn this gliph, her institution would reach new heights in no time!

Just as everyone was gasping at her gliph, Chuek Kwun silently shook his head. It was a very subtle movement, but powerful gliphists with strong mental states could still catch everything within a certain area. Unhappy with the Old Star Reacher’s arrogant words, Grandma Chin Shu took the chance upon realising that the Cloud Palace outer sect’s teacher disagreed with the crowd’s point of view.

“Cloud Palace outer sect’s mentor, do you have a different perspective?”

Cheuk Kwun was speechless. He didn’t expect such a small action of his to be noticed when even Fa Siu Siu, who was in the same state as him, didn’t notice. Even so, Cheuk Kwun answered honestly. “I have a small disagreement.”

“Oh?” The Old Star Reacher was secretly glad to hear this. Ha! The Cloud Palace is commenting on the gliph? This is a great chance to gain some fame using their name! “I’d like to hear the details!”

Cheuk Kwun ignored the Old Star Reacher; he didn’t even spare him a look as he turned to Kong Yau. “It’s better if you voice it out yourself.”

Kong Yau frowned. She didn’t know who this man was.
