“Having a strong mentality is critical to gliphists, but g-food that improves one’s mental state is as rare as a pheonix feather. One’s mental state refers to the special, intangible power a human brain holds. Less than ten g-foods or gliphic plants in the world can improve our mental state, but soulbless fruit is one of them.” Grandma Chin Shu continued.

“A thousand years ago, soulbless fruits appeared on the peaks of dangerous and special mountains. They are the crystallisation of centuries of solar and lunar essence. Nobody has seen the fruit blossom, but legends say that the soulbless fruit is not an actual fruit, just a crystallisation of energy.”

“After consuming a soulbless fruit, a single-gliphic gliphist will reach the ten-gliphic. As for ten-gliphic gliphists, you’d gain tens of gliph strings.

“Furthermore, that is just its most basic function. This fruit is precious because it increases the gliphist’s sensitivity and makes drawing gliphs easier.

“Even with my current cultivation state, I would have kept it for myself if I have yet to consume one.” Grandma Chin Shu admitted, and now the audience understood how luxurious the reward was. Desire covered the faces of all the participants except Kong Yau and Mung Si. They weren’t even eager when they heard about the soulbless fruit.

To Kong Yau, the most valuable reward was to triumph over Mung Si.

Grandma Chin Shu studied the crowd and nodded in satisfaction at the reactions given to her. “Alright, I’ll announce today’s topic - Gliph creation!”

An audible gasp came from the spectators. Watching gliphists draw gliphs was way more thrilling than watching gliphers perform their gliphilities!

“Gliphists usually research and create their personal gliphs after reaching a certain state. Furthermore, they will need to create new gliphs to use in battle. Today, all participants will need to create a brand new gliph for the finals. Gliphs that already exist are forbidden, including any previously self-created personal gliphs. The participant with the most powerful gliph will win!”

A confident smile formed on Kong Yau’s attractive face. She was unhappy with yesterday’s result as she felt it was a memory contest; Mung Si only won because she had a better memory. But gliph creation required a strong foundation in gliphism and great creativity. Besides her, Ha Yu Bing, Yuen Yau, and the other teenage gliphists were filled with confidence too. Self-confidence was an essential quality of the top disciple of their respective institutions.

A lack of confidence signalled immediate failure, and nobody wanted to be a loser.

Grandma Chin Shu knew that she shouldn’t ramble further. With a wave, the Divine Tome of Heaven Domination appeared again, but the crowd was no longer interested. They were starting to get used to the treasure.

The treasure covered the stage as balls of lights descended again, covering each participant individually. These lights were larger than during the preliminaries. Each had a five-metre diameter, and the stage was dissociated into eight.

“These lights can block your view and energliph from the other participants to prevent distraction. It will disappear automatically when you’ve completed all your tasks. All eight participants will be graded together. Of course, you’ll also be timed.

“The time limit is four hours, and today’s topic is” to create the most powerful gliph in the shortest time!

“I’m anticipating creations that will shake the world of gliphism.” Grandma Chin Shu’s voice rang in the ears of all the participants. “Your time starts now!!”

Cheers filled the arena as Grandma Chin Shu announced. Their eyes were fixated on the eight participants in their respective balls of light—the balls of light only blocked their view from each other, but not the audiences from witnessing the gliph creation process.

As if having a tacit agreement, all eight participants immediately sat cross-legged to meditate, leaving the audience speechless. But they understood that gliph creation wasn’t simple; otherwise, there would be tons of gliphs. The process of gliph creation was just too tedious. The heavens and earth needed to acknowledge the gliph for it to work.

Without acknowledgement from the heavens and earth, no matter how powerful the gliph was, it would be useless. Therefore, basic gliphism was extremely important as basic gliphs were already acknowledged by the heavens and earth. Gliphism was all about dismantling basic gliphs and reconstructing new gliphs!

The eight of them were deep in thought. Countless gliphs flashed through their minds, being deconstructed and reconstructed rapidly. As gliphists, their brains were very different from commoners as they could construct gliphs in their minds before testing them out.

An hour passed before someone finally moved. It was the participant from South Heaven Academy. The audiences didn’t expect much from him, but he was still a disciple of the Eight Institutions, after all!

He opened his eyes wide as a jade-coloured gliph string appeared around him instantly! A gliphist’s gliph string normally took on the same colour as the style they cultivated. For example, Mung Si’s gliph strings were the colour of blazing flames due to the fire-attributed Blazing Skies styles she cultivated. It was the same for Chui Yim.

When the gliph strings formed, the knowledgeable cultivators within the crowd understood it was a wind-attributed gliph. The gliph was slowly taking shape, but the teenager was sweating buckets as his eyes fixated on the gliph in front of him.

Soon…

Pff!

A sound was heard as the gliph vanished in the air. The gliphist tried to catch his breath but was not dejected as he immediately sat down to recuperate and meditate. It wasn’t easy to create gliphs, so he didn’t keep this failure in mind.

Every high-grade gliph was only created after countless failures, which was exactly why gliphists were respected in the world; they could directly contribute to society’s future.

Every gliph they made built onto existing gliphism! This disciple from the South Heaven Academy seemed to signal a start to the competition.

The other three gliphists that the audience doesn’t care about started testing their gliphs too. Meanwhile, Yuen Yau, Ha Yu Bing, Kong Yau and Mung Si remained still.
