“Five Million.” Another red-grade private room guest placed a bid.

At this stage, all the interested guests gave it their all while the onlookers watched. Therefore, it had been the same guests bidding over each other, and it didn’t take long for the price to reach 7,700,000 taels.

This high price came from a red-grade private room.

One of his competitors from a black-grade private room wore an ugly expression on his face. This competitor was a middle-aged man, and it was Mok Muk, the sculptor who previously rose to fame. He gained the ability to sense special wood as he cultivated, and the piece of everlasting wood on stage caught his interest.

But was it worth gambling more than 7,700,000 on such a small piece of wood that he might not even successfully find a way to use? 7,000,000 taels were over his budget.

After much hesitation, Mok Muk gave up on this piece of wood.

“Seven million and seven hundred thousand going once!” The auctioneer was slightly unhappy with the result. The everlasting wood might not be that old, but he still expected it to be sold for at least 10,000,000 taels.

“How much do you have on you?” In their private room, Chui Yim asked Kam Chin-Kee, who had turned to him.

“About five million.” Kam Chin Kee estimated. Something came to Chau Cheung’s mind, but it didn’t stop him from being shocked. He brought them here intending to get the Thousand-Miles Aroma as well as to gain knowledge and experience. He never imagined that Kam Chin-Kee and Chui Yim would want to bid for the wood.

“Are you guys…talking about silver taels?” He asked softly. Kam Chin Kee definitely didn’t seem to own so much money!

However, he received no reply as Chui Yim threw Kam Chin Kee a space jade after some thought. “I have three million with me. Give it a shot.”

“Alright.” Kam Chin Kee nodded without feeling surprised.

Under Chau Cheung’s shocked look, Kam Chin Kee placed his bid. “Eight million.”

“Huh?” A person looking down from the red-grade private room stared at them coldly. He saw that it was a black-grade private room which had bid, and the guests didn’t keep their identity anonymous with the gliph formation. He saw two teenage boys sitting inside.

Besides the annoyed man sat a teenager.

“Master…”

“Don’t worry, how rich can those two young boys be? ’’ the man said disdainfully. He looked down at the bald teenager, Chui Yim. “That’s the genius fire-forger who recently appeared, huh?”

The teen beside him had sharp eyebrows and narrowed eyes resembling a sword if he squinted. The middle-aged man was also frustrated to learn that the piece of wood would now cost 8,000,000 taels. Nevertheless, he continued bidding. “Eight million and a hundred thousand!”

Chui Yim and Kam Chin Kee were now the center of attention in the black grade room. Many watched them with burning gazes. They were the definition of young and rich…

“It seems that I’m not fated with this item.” Kam Chin Kee turned to Chui Yim and shrugged. His response made Chui Yim admire how he could face losing a treasure so calmly.

On the other hand, Chau Cheung was stunned, but Chui Yim’s words flashed past his mind. “Brother Chui, you told me to bet everything on you, right?” He spoke subconsciously.

“Chubby…” Chui Yim and Kam Chin Kee exchanged glances.

“Here’s all my assets, one million and five hundred thousand taels.” Chau Cheung said as he placed a huge stack of cash on the table. Chui Yim couldn’t help but shake his head at this interesting teenage boy. Unlike him and Kam Chin-Kee, who faced similar situations in the past, making them as close as brothers, Chau Cheung was merely Chui Yim’s agent, but he chose to bet on him repeatedly.

“I’ll accept your kindness, then.” Kam Chin Kee’s gaze at Chau Cheung became gentler. With that, Chui Yim called out his bid before everyone’s eyes.

“Eight million and five hundred thousand.”

Since Chui Yim didn’t activate the formation, this scene was witnessed by many. Many turned to Chau Cheung in admiration while the middle-aged man from the red-grade private room stood up in anger. He pressed the button to activate the formation gliph to mask his actual voice.

“Boy, you would be attracting danger to yourself by owning such a precious item!”

However, his words made the auctioneer’s face turn black in anger. “Noble guest, please behave yourself. Even the current Emperor Lam doesn’t dare to openly threaten other guests at the auction house. Nobody would patronize us if we allowed this to take place.

“If this happens again, we will revoke your membership immediately and blacklist you from the auction house forever!”

The elder knew who was in the private room, but this was the auction house’s rule. Without such rules and regulations, the auction house would lose the trust of their customers, and they would soon see their downfall if that happened.

“Ten million taels!” The man sneered and withheld his anger. “I’m confident. Try me, kiddos!”

“We’ve done our best.” in the black-grade private room, Chau Cheung turned to his companions with a bitter smile.

“Yeah, we did.” Kam Chin Kee agreed. This everlasting wood had caught his interest, and he was confident in creating a personal heaven-grade puppet with it. It was just that it seemed he was not fated with it.

An old man was watching this situation with interest from another red-grade private room. He was wearing farmer’s clothing and a pair of mud-stained straw shoes that created a huge contrast with the fancy room. Behind him was a chubby man who was shocked to know that Kam Chin-Kee and Chui Yim were secretly so well off.

The old man was Choh Hang Sang. After his discussion with Chui Yim, even though the other party didn’t know grass refining, Choh Hang Sang felt he had learned plenty of new knowledge from him.

This auction was just a casual trip for him. The auctioneer made the everlasting wood sound great, but think about the godly sword. It was made with a thousand-year-old everlasting wood long enough to refine a wooden sword. Since there was no way to damage the everlasting sword, how could he carve or reform it to make a sword? As a grass refiner, Choh Hang Sang understood this. But he couldn’t help but think that Chui Yim might have had a good idea of handling this piece of wood upon seeing how interested he was. He would greatly benefit from this experience of Chui Yim’s too.

“Haha, interesting!” Choh Hang Sang spoke suddenly and turned off the formation hiding his identity. “Since Brother Chui needs this item, this brother will lend you five hundred thousand taels.”
