“Five hundred thousand.” A black-grade guest bidded. Madame Yuen looked over and saw that it was the private room which a young fire-forger who had flipped the South Imperial City upside down recently was in. Madame Yuen sneered in disdain. Chau Cheng must be stupid to believe he can replace me by collaborating with a teen. The teen had amazing talent, but still too young and of low quality.

Rarity and quality were all that mattered in the auction house. Grade two tailor-made gliph weapons were nothing to Madame Yuen. Her eyes then landed on the bald teenager which shocked her. He seems familiar…

She moved her gaze to the teenage boy next to him. Unlike his companion, the handsome teenage boy had silky black hair and a mysterious, gentle gaze. He locked eyes with Madame Yuen the next instant and flashed her a smile. Yet, his gaze was meaningful. Madame Yuen was thunderstruck.

Currently, she was the highest authority of the auction house apart from the boss. She could even be considered the deputy in charge! She had always been a core member of the auction house, but Craftsman Kam played a big role in her current success today. After getting Craftsman Kam to work with them, she achieved excellent results with his Ferocious Predatory Tiger and came to where she is today.

It was indeed not the best to exclude Craftsman Kam from this auction after getting great results thanks to him, and the current sight of him hanging out with the fat teen left Madame Yuen worried. Even though it seemed that Chau Cheung had nothing against Madame Yuen, she knew he was the only person who could put her status at risk.

Moreover, now it seems like that fat boy is close friends with Craftsman Kam and the famous young fire-forger!

Chui Yim eventually purchased the Thousand-Miles Aroma. No matter how rare the jar of wine was, it was just wine at the end of the day. Spending money to increase one’s strength was definitely more important. Chui Yim and Kam Chin Kee bought it for 700000 taels, but neither of them minded as they only cared about having enough to eat.

The wine was sent to their private room in no time. Despite being sealed carefully, it was so fragrant it almost made Chui Yim drunk. What if I were to open it…Chui Yim shook his head and forced himself to watch the rest of the auction.

There weren’t many guests at this auction, but there were many precious items. A late hundred-gliphic gliphist’s treasure, a grade four gliph weapon…Many objects that the outside world would go crazy for could be found here, so a jar of wine that cost 700000 taels was nothing compared to them.

Time flew past, and the elder’s cheeks were now pink. “I have to admit that this last item is our final, most precious item, and it’s the greatest honour in my life to be able to auction it.

“The rare treasure──a hundred-year-old everlasting wood!”

A milky white jade box was being carried on stage by two female staff members carefully. They were being so careful that their palms were sweating as they were told that if something happened to the item, even their deaths would be insufficient!

The elder took the box with great care and opened it up slowly. Numerous elites had their eyes fixated on the box. All they saw was a piece of wood with the height of two index fingers and a thumb’s width. There were even tiny roots, obviously plucked out to be placed in the box.

“I believe the legend of Duen Fei’s godly sword is known to everyone, so I’ll skip that and move on to address all of your doubts; on whether this is genuine.” With that, a middle-aged man stepped onto the stage, energliph surging from his body. He was a hundred-gliphic gliphist.

Being able to survive in South Imperial City for such a long time, the auction house definitely had sufficient staff. Not just hundred-gliphic gliphists, but they had ample four-chambered gliphers too. Being the only auction house in South Imperial City, they had plenty of money. Thus, they had no difficulty getting elite cultivators to work for them.

”Now, we’ll have a hundred-gliphic gliphist demonstrate.”

This middle-aged man was not from any particular clan or organisation and was known as the Purple Lighting Elder to the world. He was known for his lightning gliphility and personal gliph, Purple Lightning. Emotionlessly, energliph circulated around him.

Purple lighting formed around him, and Chui Yim knew that gliph strings changed according to a person’s cultivation style. For example, his and Mung Si’s gliph strings resembled flame, while Kam Chin Kee’s were like light rays. It was obvious that the gliphist on stage cultivated a lightning-attributed cultivation style.

Purple lightning solidified and shot towards everlasting wood.

Boom…

The crowd was stunned to see an invisible energy wave around the piece of wood when the purple lighting smashed against it! The lightning came into contact with the energy wave and vanished.

Every guest here was an elite, and they could tell that the Purple Lightning Elder had put in his all in that attack! Some guests stared excitedly at the display.

The auctioneer wore a bright expression. “The hundred years old everlasting wood has a starting price of three million. The bidding starts now!” After hearing the price, the crowd was left silent, but this didn’t scare the auctioneer as he knew that any amount above a million taels was significant, even for clans. But what was more important was that this was a piece of a hundred years old everlasting wood, but Duen Fei’s sword was made with a thousand-year-old everlasting wood. This piece of wood was too small for them to do anything with.

Because it was too small, the elite who found it decided to sell it. Nobody would sell a thousand-year-old everlasting wood to anybody.

Even so, the auctioneer was still confident in making a successful sale as he knew that every clan would gamble on the chance of them discovering a way of utilising this precious material. If they succeeded, the resulting gliph weapon would be priceless and might even be worth ten million taels! Even if they couldn’t do anything with it, they would successfully prevent the other clans from succeeding!

After a long pause, a black-grade private room activated the gliph formation to keep their identity a secret and spoke. “Three and a half million.”

“Four million.” A red grade private room guest said after another pause.
