He hasn’t broken through yet? Excitement washed over the faces of Ching Lang Pak and his friends.

There were only two possibilities why this “zero-chambered” teen made it into the Cloud Palace outer sect; he was either sent to forge connections for the future by a powerful organisation  or a late-blooming gliphist.

It was no secret that gliphists only truly shone upon reaching the hundred-gliphic state. Before that, they were generally weaker than gliphers. Gliphists who could draw gliph strings before breaking through their innate chamber were also exceedingly rare; this meant gliphists who had yet to break through were incapable of fighting!

It didn’t matter whether Kam Chin Kee belonged to the former or the latter—Ching Lang Pak would stand to gain either way.

He smiled warmly at Kam Chin-Kee and said, “Brother, that’s not entirely correct. Cultivation is a difficult path, and first-hand battle experience will benefit you greatly.”

Kam Chin Kee stared at them weirdly. He would be an idiot if he couldn’t tell what was going on. “Thank you, but I’m fine. I shall take my leave now since I have matters to attend to.”

The teens standing next to Ching Lang Pak spread off to the flanks, blocking Kam Chin Kee’s way.

“Unfortunately, sometimes things don’t go your way, brother.” Ching Lang Pak stared at him coldly. “Like it or not, you’ll be fighting me today.”

Energliph erupted from Ching Lang Pak, the light on his right arm chamber solidifying. Among the flickering glows was the phantasm of a tree.

Kam Chin Kee shook his head and sighed. Just as the gliphers next to him lunged at him with an evil smile, Ching Lang Pak felt alarms ringing in his mind as he felt an unprecedented sense of danger.

They heard something whizzing across the air, and teenagers that were rushing forward suddenly stopped in their tracks and collapsed face-down with malicious smiles plastered on their faces. Nobody knew if they were alive or dead.

Ching Lang Pak spotted a palm-sized item on Kam Chin Kee’s hands. When he took a closer look, he realised it was a beast-like statue that was somewhat cute. Standing on fours, the beast had a monstrous face, but one that appeared so natural as if such a monster truly existed.

Despite the statue’s lack of life, it rolled about in its owner’s hands while seemingly letting out a silent growl at Ching Lang Pak.

Whoosh! Once the tiny bestial statue vanished, Ching Lang Pak raised all his guards up. He yelled as the huge phantasmic tree on his right-hand chamber solidified further then punched with his right hand. The tree wavered from the blow as leaves sprayed from its branches to the ground.

Everybody who entered the Metallic Blood War Gate was talented, and Ching Lang Pak was amongst the best. He was born to the Ching Clan that hailed from Great Wisdom City of the South’s Five.. The city was best known for the Hung Clan, but it also had several other outstanding clans that could not be underestimated, and among them was the Ching Clan. It had been around for centuries and was famous for their clan’s Heaven Reacher gliph.

It was said that the founding clan leader of the Ching Clan gained enlightenment from a tall ancient tree and created the gliphility known as “Heaven Reacher” while breaking through his fourth chamber. After several centuries, the Ching Clan turned the gliphility into a gliph to be passed down to the younger generations.

The perfect synergy between gliph and gliphility boosted a cultivator’s ability several-fold. This was also why Ching Lang Pak could, albeit barely, perform the powerful gliphility that only showed its true strength when used by those of the three-chambered rank and above. This single skill allowed him to earn his place as a top student in his institution!

This was a great representative of the saying, “absolute strength trumps all else”.

Ching Lang Pak was afraid, but when he launched his punch, he focused on doing his best and forgot about his fears. Kam Chin Kee raised an eyebrow as he watched the punch come towards him.

Indeed one of the three great institutions!

He was only  one-chambered, but this punch had the quality of a one-chambered glipher at his peak. Any ordinary one-chambered glipher would be seriously injured or killed if they took this punch.

However, that was also the reason why Kam Chin Kee frowned. I’ve taken a step back, only knocking your companions unconscious, and now you’re trying to kill me after I spared their lives?

What Kam Chin Kee didn’t know was that his aura was so scary that Ching Lang Pak felt that his life was at risk.

Kam Chin Kee took a step back and widened his hand. Before his fingers moved, gliph strings had already appeared and were forming a gliph. Soon, a large shield, one that resembled a mask, congealed in the air. It bore the face of a monster; the monstrous pattern was the symbol of guardians in his hometown.

This was Kam Chin Kee’s original gliph, the Blue Phantom.

Boom! The huge tree illusion crashed into the Blue Phantom as trees shuddered and mud splattered everywhere. Ching Lang Pak glared at his enemy with his widened eyes as he attempted to speak, but he felt a sharp pain from the back of his head before he could say a word.

“You… Impossible…” he muttered while staring at Kam Chin Kee. He collapsed onto the ground with a thud.

The statue returned to Kam Chin Kee’s palm after knocking Ching Lang Pak out cold.

“Hmph!” Kam Chin Kee sneered and got ready to leave. He spared their lives as he was no serial killer, nor did the three deserve death; they were just rude, greedy kids.

“So, are you going to fight me as well?” Kam Chin Kee turned to the teenager behind him.

The teen did not answer him; In fact, he had remained silent from the start. He never moved from his place, not because he wanted to block Kam Chin Kee, but because he disdained fighting for reputation as Ching Lang Pak did. However, he finally laid his eyes on the Kam Chin Kee when he realised that the young gliphist was more powerful than he had anticipated.

Kam Chin Kee met his gaze with his calm pair of eyes. The other party wasn’t very good-looking, with mediocre looks. However, his eyes were like a calm yet endless sea that consumed everything.

He patted the jade on his waist. A sword and a small shield appeared in his hands. The shield looked rather unconventional; its diameter was only half a metre, and it coiled around his left forearm. Just what could it block with that size?

“I am Lee Bak from the Metallic Blood War Gate. Please guide me.”

Ching Lang Pak, even with his strength, wasn’t the best among his peers in the Metallic Blood War Gate because of Lee Bak’s existence. He dominated all gliphers in his cohort not just because of his strength, but also his status as the direct disciple of Lung Wai Yuet, Tower Master of the Metallic Blood Giant Tower! If everything went as planned, he’d become the next tower master, the highest decision-making authority of the Metallic Blood War Gate in about a hundred years!
