Lam Ming Sum let out a puff, and unlike how casual she was just now, she had to exert force on the knife this time.

Half of the fish flew into the air as Yeung Chun’s eyes followed it. It seemed like time had stopped, and he could clearly see that the excretory organ, which could’ve ruined half the fish, was burnt! She had welded shut the organ’s opening to prevent anything from leaking.

Smack. The slice landed on the chopping board as she immediately continued.

Chop chop chop… Her knife danced on the fish, playing a delightful tone on the chopping board simultaneously. She then picked up the other slice of the fish on the plate. Her knife returned to its original blue, icy colour before she began slicing away.

At last, both halves of the fish were lined up neatly as slices on the plate.  Half the slices had their edges tinged slightly red with smoke wafting, while the other half was painted with a thin layer of frost. The slices lined up into a circle, with red and blue each occupying half the plate.

The final touch was garnishing the centre of the dish with spring onions. Lam Ming Sum then heaved a long sigh and sheathed her knife after cleaning it thoroughly.

“My fire and ice raw fish slice. Enjoy,” she spoke with a wide smile after wiping the sweat off her forehead.

Lam Ming Sum’s performance didn’t surprise Chui Yim and Kam Chin Kee as much as Yeung Chun. The duo long knew of how superb a g-chef she was. They were still fascinated by her performance today, but not too surprised.

Chui Yim immediately picked up a slice of the fish, his eyes widening in glee as it melted into a burst of freshness that flooded his mouth, while Kam Chin Kee chose a cold slice. He realised the thin ice covering it had maintained the fish’s fresh flavour!

As for Yeung Chun, he was still in awe. “Fantastic! Warming the fillet with the Blazing Sun gliph and freezing it slightly with Frozen Moon gliph to retain its flavour! Genius! Pure genius!”

He knew very well that his Spring Peak Feast pale in comparison to Lam Ming Sum’s dish.

The sunset umbrella wasn’t a prime ingredient, but it was still rare in the South. He’d never be able to find it without Kam Chin Kee’s finances,  or any of his other ingredients for that matter. However, Lam Ming Sum had turned the ordinary seamouth into a delicious dish of fire and ice raw fish slice using her awesome skills and technique.

Creating masterful dishes with the most ordinary of ingredients was what made a great master! Yeung Chun, who required high-class ingredients to create his dishes, seemed to be a less proficient chef when compared to her.

On the other hand, the main character was now smiling like a kid, happily watching Kam Chin-Kee and Chui Yim fight for the food.

“Boo hoo! No!” Lam Ming Sum threw a fit as Kan Hang, Chui Yim, and Kam Chin Kee exchanged glances speechlessly.

Chui Yim helplessly scratched his head. “Why else did you think big brother Yeung cooked such a feast? It was to send us off for our trip. Don’t worry, we will be back soon. You can cook for us then.”

Having just reunited, Lam Ming Sum was surprised to hear that Kam Chin-Kee and Chui Yim would be heading to the Forbidden Forest. She couldn’t help but burst into tears. “No! The Forbidden Forest already sounds dangerous. What if you guys never return?”

“It’s okay, Ming Sum,” Yeung Chun tried to coax her. “We can exchange our cooking techniques when they aren’t around!”

“We’ll be safe,” Kam Chin Kee said gently, “a powerful teacher will accompany us. I’ve heard there are many rare ingredients in the Forbidden Forest too. We’ll bring back some for you as a gift if we come across them.”

“Really?” Lam Ming Sum sniffed as she looked up at them.

“Yes.”

“Pinky promise!”

“Uhh…”

“Pinky promise too, big brother Chui!”

“I’ll pass…”

“Pinky promise! Boo hoo… How could you not look for me when you’ve been in South Imperial City for so long… Even though mummy told you to take care of me… I’ve been abandoned by you all…”

“Pinky promise…”

Lam Ming Sum reached out both her hands, grabbing Kam Chin-Kee and Chui Yim’s pinky fingers with a wide smile.

In the North, snow was fluttering down like heaven’s glitter.

The Heaven’s Sacrifice Tribe was still brightly lit. This was a symbol of the tribe’s spirit—be it day or night, they had light.

They believed that this would guide their deceased tribesmen’s souls home to bless the tribe.

Yeung Tin Hun and Man Yee Ho sat opposite each other in a tent. Even though the tribe leader Yu-Man Chong ordered the feast, Yeung Tin Hun had just stabbed their sacred son’s thigh, so it was just a token feast. The two casually ate a bit under the countless cold stares before returning to their tent by feigning discomfort.

As soon as they returned, Yeung Tin Hun spoke. “Quickly meditate and rest. Our stay here will be short.”

Man Yee Ho nodded and sat down to meditate without replying, which surprised Yeung Tin Hun.

How is he so calm? I’ve been through a lot as a reincarnator,, but he’s only thirteen.

Yeung Tin Hun didn’t delve into it any further as he sat down and shut his eyes. He might be unwilling to admit it, but he was learning far more outside than in his sect. His fight with Man Yee Ho and the special gliph were the most interesting points thus far.

The fight had put him into his place; the superiority he felt over others as a reincarnator was shattered. That was also why he raged after hearing Man Yee Ho claiming he’d win after reaching the one-chambered state—he found the statement true as well

On the other hand, Man Yee Ho was much more low-key despite his great ability. Four Season Heaven had countless young talents, yet none could compare to him. He could best one-gliphic gliphists in combat and could draw gliphs far more quickly. His self-created gliph that conjured various weapons was extremely powerful and flexible as well.

Yeung Tin Hun was no longer as prideful, becoming a hardworking cultivator instead. The mysterious gliph had widened his sights; it felt as if new knowledge was imprinted into his mind. Complicated gliphs were no longer as difficult to comprehend. Everything had their patterns that could be traced.

During this period, he had made great progress in comprehending his self-created spearmanship and the gliph on his left arm chamber, the Spring’s Advent gliph. His mind was set on exploring the possibility of new gliphility and not just relying on the Sleeping Past Spring’s Dawn that was passed down to him by the sect.

Yeung Tin Hun didn’t waste any time in meditating. The sight of two thirteen-year-olds instantly dropping deep into their minds for meditation at the same time was almost unbelievable.

He recalled memories from his past life and knowledge from his sect; his fight with Man Yee Ho and the gliph which represented water crashed together in his mind, forming new knowledge and concepts about gliphs.
