Similar to the third teacher, Chau Chung was chubby with a smile always on his face. But rather than being as friendly as the third teacher, he kept a professional smile that of a businessman. Many belittled him, but all of them were stunned as Chau Chung repeatedly proved his ability with the Black Tortoise Auction House.

As agreed, Chau Chung set up a small group that exclusively worked for Chui Yim. They also marketed Chui Yim’s skills, and news of the Auction House collaborating with a talented blacksmith willing to customise gliph weapons became a hot topic.

The use of precious ingredients as a substitute for money and bulk purchase discounts drove countless gliphers crazy. What increased demand even further was that he only accepted ten orders per month, which meant that supply was limited!

Even Chui Yim didn’t expect the hot reception of his business, which was especially valuable for two-chambered gliphers who couldn’t break through anymore. Such a gliph weapon could last them forever.

In the past, there had never been blacksmiths willing to lower themselves to do this; gliphers who owned customised weapons had to exercise many connections and favours for them. No one had ever started a business around it publicly.

Chui Yim was initially angry when he suddenly received ten orders for gliph weapons from Chau Chung, but he calmed down after receiving his payment in the form of silver taels and precious resources.

“Brother Chui, I’ll definitely not let you take a loss. The resources here are worth at least eight hundred thousand silver tales. Our transaction fee will be no more than five per cent.”

Chui Yim frowned suspiciously and asked, “Five per cent?”

Even Kam Chin Kee was surprised by the low commission. How was this possible when Chau Chung was spending so much effort and money, even going as far as establishing a special group to work under Chui Yim? All these would cost at least a few ten thousand taels! Yet, he was only taking a five per cent fee?

“Brother Chui, I’m worse than you in forging, but we’re the opposite in business.” Chau Chung laughed.

“Firstly, I want to prove to the Black Tortoise Auction House that my methodology works. Humans are naturally greedy and will want discounted things even if they are unsuited for them. Bulk purchasing takes advantage of this since after accumulating a certain number of people, they will receive a discount. Considering our products are gliph weapons, people will certainly flock to buy them!

“If I succeed this time, the Black Tortoise Auction House will start to consider cooperating with me, which will help boost my fame. Moreover, do you know what’s our greatest strength, Brother Chui?”

“What?” Chui Yim responded subconsciously.

“Our age!”  Chau Chung laughed out loud. “The two of us might seem mature, but you should realise how young we actually are! Be it our potential to grow or time to fail, we have plenty of it! So what if we fail this time? We can get back up and try again; I believe we will succeed one way or another!” He patted his belly.

“I’ll be very honest; Brother Chui is the first person that I, Chau Chung, think highly of! You are Doctor Odd’s disciple but also extremely skilled in forging. If you can forge a grade two gliph weapon now, don’t you wonder about what you’ll be able to do in the future?”

“I am not a short-sighted person.” Chau Chung patted his chest. “I think highly of you and even more so of your future and potential. I hope Brother Chui will choose to work with me should you see any business opportunity in the future.”

Kam Chin Kee couldn’t help but look at Chau Chung with admiration. Others might not know it, but he knew how famous and powerful Chui Yim was back on the Sallow Continent and how many people joined his sect for a weapon. It could be said that the gliph weapons Chui Yim forged were limited by only his strength, not his comprehension. There wasn’t any bottleneck to speak of since Chui Yim was already at the top of this world regarding forging skills.

Chau Chung was investing in Chui Yim, and Kam Chin Kee was sure he would succeed. He was even considering whether he should switch his agent from Madame Yuen to the teenager in front of him.

On the other hand, Chui Yim nodded in agreement. He might not understand too much about business, but he felt Chau Chung’s sincerity. Furthermore, he wouldn’t be spending too much time on earning money as his New Rich Plan was meant only to fund his school fees. Now that he could pay someone to handle the logistics for him, he could save time to plan for his other matters. This was a win-win situation.

Finally, Chui Yim no longer felt pressured by his lack of silver taels. He even slightly regretted his deal with late Chor Huet Zhin.

The sun was gradually descending down the western horizon. Winter was freezing cold, but not in South Imperial City, which was only slightly cooler with minor snowing thanks to its protective gliph formation.

The sun’s rays painted everything orange, including the Wandering Son’s Lake. It was a peaceful day for most in South Imperial City, but this was an important day for some.

The black night fell as soon as the sun disappeared. Black figures were hidden in the alleys of the South Imperial City. Nobody knew when they had arrived, concealed from the citizens and wandering like strays.

Blue Dragon Avenue.

At the Chor Mansion in Blue Dragon Avenue, it was as secure as always. Even at night, and despite the capital’s security, the Chor Clan never relaxed. There was a guard every five steps away and a guardpost every ten steps. The Chor Clan disciples held their pitch-black rods as they patrolled through the night.

This was one of the reasons why the Chor Clan remained undefeated. They maintained their regimented army-like manner despite becoming a noble, famous clan.

A Chor Clan disciple was patrolling when he heard something and turned towards it. “Who’s there!”

He was staring at a bush. He looked closely, only shaking his head after some time and rubbing his eyes as he mumbled to himself. “Maybe I’m too tired?”

He turned around and continued his patrol. But his body jolted the instant he turned around.

A pitch-black knife was embedded into the back of his neck.
