Bang! Another gliph sword blocked Yeung Tin Hun’s attack!

“You’re a pain in the neck!” Yeung Tin Hun gave up on fighting Man Yee Ho after the last exchange as he knew that surviving the current crisis was more important. At the same time, he was pleasantly surprised by the boost in energliph and gliphility use he felt after witnessing the mysterious gliph, but he didn’t have time to investigate for now.

Man Yee Ho glanced at the man Yeung Tin Hun had been after. Determining that the man couldn’t make it out alive at his pace, he picked him up on his shoulders after drawing the Feather-light gliph and forcefully casting it on him.

It was beyond imagination that a thirteen-year-old boy could sprint while carrying a grown man on his shoulders. However, he was still relatively slower compared to his normal speed with the added weight.

“Faster! Go faster!” the glipher wailed in despair as he saw the gliphic beast tide and avalanche behind them. He was in such fear that he nearly pissed himself. “Faster!”

This made Man Yee Ho’s brows crease, but he remained silent. Instead, Yeung Tin Hun yelled angrily, “Idiot! That man isn’t innocent!”

Man Yee Ho glared at Yeung Tin Hun but continued sprinting.

Roar!

A beast growled right behind them. It seemed far away when they first heard it, but it was now right behind them and coming after them at lightning speed! Man Yee Ho barely reacted in time, flicking his finger to create a small dagger with his gliph strings.

Ping!

The dagger struck the snow-white leopard, barely slowing it down.

“It’s a yokai snow leopard!” Once he identified the beast chasing them, the glipher turned as white as a sheet of paper.

The yokai snow leopard was a famous beast of the Snowdrift Mountain Range. Besides its terrifying speed, the yokai in its name represented its mysterious behaviour, similar to spirits in folklore.

Its innate gliph and fast speed helped them thrive in the Snowdrift Mountain Range; it was also the gliphic beast one never hoped to meet. With its speed, the avalanche was nothing to it; this was simply a hunt for it.

With a growl, the yokai snow leopard again disappeared into the snow.

Man Yee Ho scowled. He scanned for the leopard while running. But to his dismay, he suddenly felt a stinging sensation on his shoulder, only to discover a dagger was piercing his left shoulder through the slit of his red robe.

He looked up, meeting the eyes of the man he was carrying. His fearful expression had vanished as he wedged the dagger deeper into Man Yee Ho’s shoulder.

“Since you’re so nice, save my life with yours!” With great force, the glipher twisted the dagger into Man Yee Ho’s shoulder. He then pulled it out and used Man Yee Ho as a springboard to jump away while kicking him towards the leopard.

Smelling blood, the yokai snow leopard’s eyes lit up as it pounced towards Man Yee Ho.

“Idiot!” Yeung Tin Hun, a distance away, gritted his teeth and stopped in his tracks. He ran towards them while activating his energliph, and the flowery gliph hidden beneath his sleeves lit up once again—Sleeping Past Spring’s Dawn!

A pink aura scattered around like pollen, separating Man Yee Ho and the yokai snow leopard. However, a chilly purple aura covered the leopard the next moment.

“Pugh!” Yeung Tin Hun vomited blood as his gliphility was destroyed and received a harsh backlash. Despite being able to fight those of a higher rank, the yokai snow leopard was two full ranks above him; it was too strong for him to go against. But as the disciple of the Four Seasons Heaven, his gliphility allowed him to stop it for just a moment. It was barely enough for him to reach Man Yee Ho, and he grabbed Man Yee Ho’s bright robe tightly before turning and fleeing.

Even now, Man Yee Ho still kept a poker face while staring at the man who attacked him as if he wasn’t injured at all. His left shoulder was heavily injured, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t use his right hand. With a flick, two longswords silently pierced the glipher’s body. The glipher died with surprise on his face.

Maybe the snow leopard felt that Man Yee Ho and Yeung Tin Hun weren’t simple targets; it went for the glipher’s corpse after some hesitation and picked him by his neck. The leopard even spared them a glare before vanishing into the boundless snow.

“Now tell me, who’s the idiot here?” Yeung Tin Hun continued shouting despite the avalanche behind them. “Fighting me because of that piece of trash? Idiot!”

“On your left,” Man Yee Ho blurted out suddenly, not answering him.

Yeung Tin Hun looked to his left to find the cave they had sheltered in previously! He immediately realised that he wouldn’t be able to escape the avalanche if he had to carry Man Yee Ho with him, but he couldn’t just leave the young man to die. In a split second, he made his decision and bolted towards the cave.

The instant they entered the cave, the avalanche surged past the cave entrance!

“Damn it!” Yeung Tin Hun waved his spear nimbly, stalling all the debris from entering the cave. But it was obvious he wouldn’t be able to last for long.

As soon as Man Yee Ho entered the cave, he scanned his surroundings and waved his sleeves. Long rods made of gliph strings formed and pushed the rocks near the cave’s entrance to block it. Seriously injured, Man Yee Ho fainted immediately after. Yeung Tin Hun collapsed at the same time, exhausted.

The entire mountain range turned into a winter wonderland as snow ravaged the lands. Rocks, gliphic beasts, and plants drowned underneath the white blanket. It was nature’s way of showing its might.

Nobody knew of the teenagers trapped in the cave.

When Chui Yim woke up, it was already noon. He got really drunk while celebrating yesterday. He looked around subconsciously to see toppled jugs and Yeung Chun sleeping soundly while hugging an empty wine cask.
