Chui Yim got to work as soon as Wong Chow Yip left and exited the workshop a few hours later with a staff.
More capable than he seemed, Chui Yim was limited by his cultivation. He would become a great master in medicine once he broke through his innate chamber. However, blacksmithing was different. Chui Yim’s heart deficiency limited him to fifteen minutes of work at a time, and hence forging a weapon took hours.
Chui Yim’s proficiency helped him reduce the time spent to forge a low-grade weapon to fifteen minutes, while grade two gliph weapons were the highest quality he could make in that time. Forging a grade four gliph weapon would be possible for Chui Yim if not for his heart deficiency, so a customised grade-one gliph weapon was definately no big deal to him.
“What an easy ten thousand taels!” Chui Yim laughed as he left a flame mark with a word next to it. It looked like a pattern to others, but only Chui Yim knew it meant the number ‘three’.
A word not belonging to this world, in the Sallow Continent’s language. And this marked the birth of the ‘New Rich Three’!
The following day, Wong Chow Yip rushed to block Chor Kwong Laan’s path immediately after class. “Chor boy, you only won thanks to your weapon the previous time, do you dare face me once more?”
“Not interested,” Chor Kwong Laan mumbled, not sparing Wong Chow Yip a glance which left him stunned.
“You…”
“It’s enough for me to beat you up once.” Chor Kwong Laan sighed in satisfaction as he recalled the previous incident. “You will only be on par with me even if you got brother Chui to customise a weapon for you unless you see some improvement in your strength. If not, you can keep dreaming about revenge.”“Shameless!” Wong Chow Yip exploded. “The Chor Clan must be ashamed to have a disciple like you!”
Chor Kwong Laan had a stoic expression, but he felt happy inside. Chui Yim was glad to see the situation unfold too as this was all his plan after all.
This was Chui Yim’s New Rich plan. Yes, he planned for Wong Chow Yip to seek revenge with Chor Kwong Laan, which would be the perfect time for him to hurry over and whisper, “Brother Wong… If that Chor boy has no guts, there are still many opponents for you to choose from…”
Madness washed over Wong Chow Yip’s eyes once he heard that. He was fuming when his eyes landed on a mature-looking boy with a squarish face.
Sensing Wong Chow Yip’s stare, the teen glared back fiercely. “What the hell are you looking at!”
“On Kuet! Do you dare to fight me?” Wong Chow Yip sneered.
“Why wouldn’t I?” On Kuet was a disciple of the On Clan, one of the other four general clans.
With that, both parties left for the cultivator arena excitedly. On Kuet flashed his huge greatsword, a quality grade one gliph weapon.
The crowd was stunned when Wong Chow Yip revealed his New Rich Three. It had the colour of yellow autumn leaves, similar to Wong Chow Yip’s hair, with a refined beast claw at the top of the staff.
This claw belonged to the sharp-toothed lion he came across back at the Engraved Mountain Range. He had secretly picked up some of the sharp-tooth lion corpses that were all over the place.
Since both lions and tigers were kings of the wild, he used the claw as the core ingredient and carved the Violence gliph on it, which helped boost a glipher’s attack for a short period. Adding the Wong Clan’s Tiger Breath, it raised Wong Chow Yip’s destructive capability to the maximum.
Sadly, On Kuet realised that Wong Chow Yip had absolute control of the fight after a few moves. Even though the Wong Clan’s attack was explosive in nature, they could last well over ten minutes in battle! When Wong Chow Yip’s energy finally died down, On Kuet’s face was swollen and his lips looked like sausages.
“How coul you tae avantage…”
The poor On Kuet was beaten up so badly that he couldn’t even speak properly. On the other hand, Wong Chow Yip was full of smiles and even approached Chui Yim to thank him before he left happily.
On Kuet gritted his teeth and approached Chui Yim too…
Besides On Kuet, many other gliphers came to find Chui Yim too. After this episode, Chui Yim’s works gained some fame. Those classmates who treated Chui Yim with disdain now had a new attitude. Which other thirteen-year-old could customise a grade one gliph weapon?
Adding on his mysterious special quota and identity as Doctor Odd’s direct disciple, none of them dared belittle Chui Yim anymore and treated him politely. His forging skills alone were enough for him to survive at the Cloud Palace outer sect.
After On Kuet left, Kam Chin Kee and Chui Yim sat in the living room with Chui Yim’s laughter echoing throughout the residence.
“Come, drink up. This glutinous rice wine might not have any special effects, but it has been stored for a long time. Three hundred years! Brother Kam must drink more of this wine which costs ten thousand taels per jug.
“Oh, yea. This too. This is the rednoceros steak. Unlike the meat of most beasts, it’s extremely tender and helps replenish energy. It’s a rare g-food and best paired with wine!
“Half a kilogram cost me three thousand taels! Do have more, brother Kam!” Rambling on, Chui Yim cut the beef for Kam Chin Kee.
Kam Chin Kee watched him oddly. He felt that Chui Yim was having a competition with him after he tried to show the benefits of his staying at his residence. How did that trigger him instead…
The thought of this made Kam Chin Kee wear a bitter smile. However, he dug in as both the wine and steak were rare delicacies. Both of them had a happy meal as time flew by.
In the blink of an eye, they only had a single slice of steak left. The expensive glutinous rice wine was sweet, sour, bitter and spicy at the same time. It was extremely smooth, and even though they were sipping it slowly, the highly alcoholic drink made them drunk in no time.
They left the residence and were sitting by the lake. The scenery was gorgeous, with the moonlight shining down on the Wandering Son’s Lake.
