Chapter 543 The Dark Kings
Creak…
"I am home!" Amour shouted as he stepped into the carpeted floor. The walls were brownish with a hue of yellow, making the interior look like old ancient castles. However, it looked warm and cozy to everyone who'd lived there for some time.
The servants perked up their ears and greeted their young master. As more servants came to greet him, soon his father walked down the upstairs, his hands folded behind his back.
"Father." Amour waved his hand.
"Amour, was your trip pleasant?" Amon asked with a slight smile, curiously scanning his son. There didn't seem to be any injuries or signs of fighting. Heaving a sigh of relief, he revealed a bigger smile.
"Yes, it was alright," Amour replied.
The light shone on the mansion as the dinner was served. The father and son duo talked about some mundane things. It was the daily routine for them. Since only two of them were in the family, they were extremely close.
They never hid things from each other, but Amour felt like it was better not to reveal the meeting with Arthur, and the men, who ended up becoming his friends.
After the dinner, the servants took care of the dishes, while Amour returned to his spacious room. In there, he pulled out a scrap of paper and checked the coordinates. None of them knew what it hid, but it must be something important.
After remembering the coordinates, he pocketed the paper, grabbed his VR Helmet, and returned to his bed. With the bluish visor covering his face and skinsuit wrapping tightly around his body, he entered White Online.
…
In Snowstar, Whitelock's Residence.
Luna drew a pentagram on the ground and placed five marbles around it. After taking out her wand, she concentrated fully on the magic she was about to perform.
As the first wave of the wand happened, the candle's fire died. However, as soon as the second wave came, the candlelight mysteriously reappeared, wrapping Luna's beautiful face in a honey-yellow glow.
"Hecate's Magic, The Seven Circular, Clairvoyance Magic!" The silver-inlaid wand's tip shone in a brilliant bluish hue. The marbles shone with the same intensity, coloring the room in blue light.
"Where are you… my love…" She murmured and closed her eyes. In her mind, fragments of images appeared, some were shaped like broken glass, and some were whole. However, each fragment showed the same image, Isaac's room.
Waking up from the trance, Luna's eyes shook as she slowly turned around. At the open door frame, a handsome white-haired man stood while eating food grains. His lips were curved upward, looking to be amused.
"ISAAC!" Luna sprung to her feet, her previous anger disappeared, and she immediately wrapped her arms around his waist, hugging him tightly.
"Oh." The food seeds slipped out of Isaac's hold, littering the ground. However, he shrugged his shoulders and returned the hug.
However, after Luna overcame her initial excitement, the anger reappeared, and she smacked his shoulder.
"Ouch, what was that for?" Isaac asked while rubbing his shoulder.
"You went to look for your friends, eh?!" Holding her waist, she angrily questioned, "Bullshit!"
"Sigh, where did my cute Luna go?" Isaac's lips curved downward, looking saddened.
"E-Eh?" Luna held her chest in surprise, taking a step backward. She quickly whipped around, pulled out her phone, and checked her reflection. She tidied her hair and looked at the face. She still looked like her sweet self, even though there was still a trace of anger.
Isaac chuckled silently and sat on the bed. Patting the spot next to him, he invited Luna to sit next to him.
Luna hesitantly sat next to him, waiting for answers.
Isaac wryly smiled and decided to answer truthfully. After his mouth opened, he spoke about Arthur, Xerxus, Kalzer, and Amour. The whole story lasted for two hours, filled with heart-stopping moments.
After that, Luna sat silently while mulling over. She still didn't like the idea of him going there alone. But, most of her anger disappeared.
After the moonlight peered from the cracks of the curtains, she hugged Isaac and made him sleep next to her.
Isaac continued caressing her soft hair as her breathing started becoming slower, and she soon fell asleep. As her soft breathing tickled his neck, Isaac pulled out the paper and checked the coordinates.
'The softness of bed and warmth of Luna... feels so distant.' Isaac murmured to himself in his thoughts. The warmth he felt was strange but satisfying. After the long journey, filled with sleepless nights, had ended.
He felt happy that it was over but still slightly melancholic. While the journey itself wasn't that pleasant, the company he spent time with was.
'Maybe this won't be the last time I meet them. I feel like Arthur has bigger plans for us.'
For tonight, he planned to sleep and rest. Then, tomorrow, he would go and find that place. There were many players who'd passed his level, and he'd to start increasing the pace of leveling up.
Shortly, the eyelids grew heavier, and he got caught in the trap called sleepiness.
…
At late night.
A bolt of electricity arrived on Springland and continued zooming across the Continent until finally, Xerxus arrived at the front steps of his house.
There was still light coming from the windows.
As he placed his hand on the doorknob and twisted, he noticed that the door was locked. With a roll of his eyes, he raised his right hand and knocked on the door.
Knock, knock, knock.
Within an instant, hurried footsteps echoed from inside, and the door opened with a bam.
Xerxus' eyes greeted the sight of a bright-looking girl, whose smile caused him to smile as well.
"Brother!" She screamed and wrapped her arms around his waist, pulling him into a hug.
"Kayla." Xerxus rubbed his little sister's hair. Shortly later, the rest of his family arrived on the doorsteps, welcoming him after his long journey.
After a short dinner and catching ups, Xerxus returned to his room, even though it was quite difficult to prove that he actually was with his friends.
As he sat on his bed, he pulled out the paper, checked the coordinates, and nodded after remembering it. Then, with superspeed, he grabbed the helmet, and appeared back on his bed. With several clicks of button, the skinsuit wrapped around him, and he entered World of White.
The long journey of Arthur, and the four men concluded. With their tracks reaching the shores of Summerland, the Souldeath family tried to find more, but couldn't, like they disappeared into a thin air.
With no clues about the men, they focused their attention on Arthur. The tropical island of Picu was surrounded with dozens of warships, cannons pointing at the island.
The beautiful forest was filled with soldiers, and several dark-clothed figures, Dark Kings. The Dark Kings were the main enforcers of the Souldeath Family. There were ten of them and all Chain Breakers.
