Chapter 542 Kalzer's Payback
The yellowish sphere of fire floated above while the blue sky looked beautiful with its cotton-white clouds.
Tap, tap, tap.
Kalzer slowly stepped forward on the pavement, surrounded by luxurious buildings. Shortly afterward, he arrived in the elegant yard, filled with flourishing grass patches and flowers.
The breeze of fresh wind gushed past his face, waking him up from his trance. With a final sigh, he stepped forward and opened the front door. As the door made of the oak tree opened, he stepped into the mansion with his heart beating against his chest.
Ba-dump, Ba-dump, Ba-dump.
With his backpack hanging over his left shoulder, he slowly lowered it and placed it on the floor. When he heard the footsteps echoing from the top floor, he quickly touched his face and ripped off the mask.
His handsome face appeared, shining in brilliance. He hid the mask in the backpack and moved his gaze to the upstairs. The silhouette of his father appeared with a red face and an obvious angry expression.
"Kalzer!" His roar reverberated across the mansion, making the windows shake and floor quake.
"Yes, father?" Kalzer replied while hiding his trembling hands behind his back.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Kai, Kalzer's father, removed his belt and swung it around before landing a flesh-smacking whip on Kalzer's cheek.
Smack!
"?!" Kalzer's eyes shook as his head swung to face the other way. The stinging feeling spread across his cheek.
"You dare to leave without my permission?!" Kai screamed while raising the belt, ready to send another whip-like attack, "To do what? Laze around?! Lazy bastard!"
"N-No… s-spear instructor…" Kalzer tried to explain but received another whipping, this time, it landed on his other cheek, making it dyed red.
"Don't lie to me!" Kai screamed till his uvula shook.
"No, Kai, don't!" A frightened voice came from upstairs, belonging to Karen. Her eyes moistened as she saw her son getting beaten up.
"Shut up, slut!" Kai's scream froze the atmosphere. His grip on the belt tightened.
"K-Kai…" Karen's eyes shook, and she took a step back, hiding further in upstairs.
Soon, several other eye pairs appeared upstairs, belonging to their children. However, they didn't seem frightened. They snickered at Kalzer, laughing at his current condition.
"What did you call her…"
Kai frowned after hearing the chilly voice. He slowly turned around and saw his son staring at him with furious eyes.
"Y-You dare to give me that look?!" Raising the belt, he screamed as he sent another whipping strike.
However, this time… it didn't land.
Grab.
Kalzer caught the belt effortlessly, his cold eyes never leaving Kai's face.
"L-Let go, you useless son!" Kai gritted his teeth, trying to remove the belt from his son's grasp. But, the difference between strengths was too much.
"Y-You, useless son!" As he screamed, he pointed at Kalzer and said, "You would be nothing without me. You should be fucking grateful that we even gave birth to you!"
"Did I ask to be born?" Kalzer asked with a cold voice, stunning everyone, "I didn't ask for it. You birthed me because you needed me for something or simply wanted a son."
When he said the first part, he looked at Kai. Then, when he said the last part, he looked at his crying mother.
While Kai needed him and his siblings for something, Karen simply wanted children.
Kalzer pulled the belt, removing it from Kai's hand. Then, he swung it and whipped it across Kai's face, causing a loud smack to echo in the mansion.
The mansion turned silent afterward. Everyone was stunned as they saw Kai's short figure flying across the air until finally landing on the steps of the stairs. The single whip caused several of his teeth to fly out.
"I don't mind your endless insults and beatings." Kalzer slowly walked to the stunned Kai, who held his cheek while in a trance. He couldn't comprehend the things that just happened. His son just hit him?
He never expected someone to raise their hand against him, after all, he was the man of the house, and others should listen to him without complaints!
"However, you dare to insult my mother?" Shaking his head, Kalzer raised the belt with cold eyes, "You should be grateful that you might still be able to stand after this."
SMACK!
With one quick whip, a bloody wound appeared on Kai's back.
''AAAAAAAAAAAAH!'' Screaming, Kai tried his best to not fall unconscious. The single strike caused endless waves of pain. It felt worse than death!
Karen held her mouth in shock. She never expected her calm son to do anything to his father.
Kalzer's siblings looked frightened. They hoped their father would still stand up and beat him up. However, after seeing the smell of urine and yellowish puddle forming underneath Kai, they lost all hope.
Kalzer dropped the belt and said, "Leave this place, and never come back."
Kai's eyes shook, and with half of his teeth missing, he still tried to utter, "Y-Y-You… a-a-are nothing… w-without me."
"I don't need you," Kalzer said and stepped over Kai, walking up the stairs. After stopping next to his mother, she wiped her tears and smiled gently.
"Go rest." She said.
Kalzer nodded and returned to his room. After closing the door, he slumped on the floor with an exhausted look. His heart still beat like it was trying to burst out of his chest.
As he noticed his VR Helmet shining underneath the sunlight, he pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket. Arthur gave him and others this paper. It would tell coordinates for their reward.
None of them opened it yet and waited till they got home. They didn't think that Arthur would scam them. Their faith was hundred percent.
Opening the paper, Kalzer memorized the coordinates. Then, he grabbed the VR Helmet, returned to his bed, and positioned the headgear around his head.
Downstairs, Kai staggered to the front door with a bloodied face. His eyes were red out of rage.
"Father, wait!" Kalzer's siblings ran out of the upstairs, following their father.
"Killjoy and Kawzer, where are you two going?" Karen asked with her hand on her chest.
"We are going to follow our father!" Killjoy was Kalzer's little sister and the youngest of the family. Still, she had inherited some of Kai's traits, like his wrathful eyes.
Kaiser looked with disdain at his mother and left the mansion with his little sister and father. As the door closed, only two people were left in the mansion.
"Sigh…" Karen sighed, even though it hurt to lose two of her children. She still felt waves of relief washing over her. The monstrous man was finally gone.
