"Urgh, I hate mages… I hate mages so much," Aion muttered when he noticed that the enemy could cancel the effects of magic.

"Unbelievable… for a simple person to be able to do this…" Sauros said.

Aion was amazed that Sauros could be that carefree. Sauros and Seris couldn't attack anymore, and it didn't look like he had realized that.

In any case, Aion changed classes to recover his weapon, and then he saw the redhead witch floating. It seemed that she also wanted to test their strength instead of decimating them… that was going to be tough for Aion since half of his strength comes from magic. Still, Inner Force and Force Release weren't spells per se, so they shouldn't be affected.

Aion charged toward the witch with his spear in hand, and then he suddenly tripped when a stone appeared on the ground… after rolling on the ground, he got up as quickly as possible, only to see a blank expression on the witch's face. It seemed that all of his ancestors' friends were a pain in the ass.

Since it was like that, Aion just jumped toward her after using Force Release, and then she summoned some ice walls to block his path, but Aion destroyed them with a single swing. Still, when he got close enough, Aion noticed that the enemy had disappeared.

Aion landed and then looked around for her, but he found nothing. Without hesitation, Aion used his magic to create a cold wind that enveloped the whole floor and then made it move… It didn't take long for him to notice an area where some ice was forming. Aion dashed in that direction, and then the witch appeared, firing some blue swords at him…

Aion blocked them with his mana, but they completely stopped his charge. While Aion was dealing with that, Sauros and Seris fired some ice spears with their new weapons. Still, the witch just looked at them for a second, and then the projectiles began to fall apart… she wasn't even using Mana to pull that off. If that was some sort of mutation, it was probably one of the strongest that had ever existed…

If Aion hadn't reset the berserker class to get a new one, it would be the best option to deal with her, but life was like that; it likes to kick you in the balls after some choices you make. Either way, the Lancer class wasn't half bad in that situation…

Aion braced himself for the pain and charged. He kept his spear near his body and only blocked the swords that flew toward his head and heart. When they began to pierce him, Aion's anger made his blood boil, but he didn't let that get the better of him.

The witch tried to fly away from Aion, but he jumped toward her with all his might, and when she moved her arms to summon ice walls, he used Sonic Throw. She was forced to fire a blast of wind from both hands to stop the attack, but she didn't stop Aion, who had recovered his spear and then used Triple Sonic Thrust.

Aion felt that he had hit the chest of the enemy three times, but he didn't see any blood in his spear or falling from the chest of the enemy…

Aion landed on the floor and then sighed… that woman would be a tough nut to crack… time was of the essence, so he had to come up with a plan to surprise her and defeat her once and for all.

The witch didn't have time for Aion to think. It was almost as if she could tell that it would be a bad idea if she let him do that… while summoning several swords around her, she also made them spin to gain speed and piercing power.

"To be able to control this many Magic projectiles this well…" Aion furrowed his eyebrows in surprise. "Her skills surpass mine and even my mother's."

One can become skilled with constant training, and while talent helped, it seemed that the woman broke all senses of logic with her powers. Aion had been hit three times by those swords, and they pierced his flesh a couple of centimeters despite his Force Release. With the extra spinning power, things might get messy…

"Aion! Come here!" Seris shouted.

Since they knew that it was useless, Seris and Sauros didn't try to keep using their mana, but it looked like they had one idea that might help… Seris was just going to use her powers, probably.

Aion began to run in the opposite direction to circulate around the room while trying to escape the magic projectiles. Still, their speed surpassed his expectation, so he was forced to turn around and block them.

When his spear blocked the first and Aion was pushed backward for two meters, he had an idea, and he jumped backward without showing his back. Thanks to it, when the next ones were fired and were blocked, Aion was pushed backward, and it didn't take long for him to get closer to the others.

Eventually, the witch also got close enough to them, and then Sauros used his power and slowed down time while creating a barrier around the area.

The witch blinked several times when she began to fall… that didn't make any sense. Sauros only messed with the time around, so her mana was supposed to remain stable… but then her Swords began to crumble away.

"She wasn't using her mana?" Aion asked.

"Exactly, her true power is to control the mana on a certain area around her," Sauros explained. "I had read about this power once. She can absorb the mana around and make her own without making it enter her body. However, her abilities are limited in confined spaces since she can't take the mana from outside a building or a room. That is why she uses most of it to disrupt the spells of others and to create swords made of mana."
