The Female Assassin Pretends to Be a Lamb in the Campus
Chapter 291: Qin Hanyu fights two and catches the knife with his hand.
Chapter 291
Qin Hanyue hurriedly carried the person down the stairs.
The hotel's shuttle car was already waiting at the back door.
Qin Hanyue carried the person onto the car. As the car door was about to close, a hand steadily grabbed the car door, then there was a thud on the car roof—someone had leapt from the building onto the car roof.
Qin Hanyue reacted swiftly, kicking the hand on the door to force the person back, then quickly shut the car door: "Drive!"
The driver had just started the engine.
The assassin on the car roof now appeared at the front of the car. He pointed his gun at Qiao Ying in the car through the windshield.
The driver was so frightened that he abandoned the car and fled.
Qin Hanyue shielded Qiao Ying as they crouched down, dodging the bullets shot their way. The windshield shattered as bullets hit it, sending glass shards flying.
Qin Hanyue grabbed a blanket from the adjacent seat and threw it at the windshield to block their view. At the same time, he leapt from the back seat to the front and kicked the assassin on the hood.
The assassin jumped off the car.
Qin Hanyue moved swiftly to get into the driver's seat and shut the door.
The assassin he had forced back earlier tried to open the back door again, but Qin Hanyue locked it first.
Just as he was about to drive off, a gun muzzle appeared at the window.
Qin Hanyue tilted his upper body back to narrowly dodge the incoming bullets. The car window shattered as bullets hit it, and the assassin outside punched through the opening.
Qin Hanyue grabbed the assassin's wrist, about to break it directly, but the assassin dissolved the move with skill.
The two exchanged blows through the shattered car window.
The confined space of the car cabin greatly restricted Qin Hanyue's movement but also hindered the attacks of the two assassins.
At this moment, the passenger door was opened, and the assassin held a short knife, putting Qin Hanyue in peril from both front and back.
The assassin outside the driver's seat kept holding a gun, attempting to shoot Qin Hanyue several times but never got the chance.
Sensing the imminent attack from behind,
Qin Hanyue pressed the assassin's hands outside against the car window to restrain him briefly. During this window, Qin Hanyue forced the assassin to pull his own trigger. The bullet fired out, narrowly missing Qin Hanyue's shoulder as it shot towards the assassin behind him who was about to stab down with his knife.
Everything happened in a flash.
The assassin's upper body was inside the car so he couldn't dodge in the limited space. Still, he managed to avoid fatal injury as the bullet only hit his shoulder.
Qin Hanyue tried to snatch his gun, but the assassin immediately withdrew and retreated.
Qin Hanyue took the chance to lock the passenger door and start the car engine again, only to hear gunshots—the tires were shot.
Qin Hanyue decisively exited the driver's seat.
His moves were vicious, targeting vital parts. This assassin was clearly not at the same level as Knife Shadow, but he was still better than the mercenaries on M Continent. Not an easy opponent.
Since they found Qin Hanyue hard to deal with, the assassins no longer wanted to waste time on him and focused on their target, Qiao Ying, instead.
So the assassin who was shot in the shoulder smashed the rear passenger window with his elbow, about to open the door.
With one hand braced on the hood covered with shattered glass, Qin Hanyue leapt over the hood from the front. He kicked the assassin trying to open the car door.
With an injured shoulder, the assassin couldn't withstand Qin Hanyue's relentless attacks targeting his wound. When he could no longer fend off Qin Hanyue's speed, a perfect elbow strike landed hard on his cheek, leaving him dazed and constantly retreating.
The gun-holding assassin spat out a mouthful of blood and walked to the front of the car. He pointed his gun at the unconscious Qiao Ying in the rear seat, finger on the trigger.
Right before he could shoot, a hand suddenly grabbed his gun-holding hand and lifted it upwards. The bullet hit and shattered the window instead. The assassin's abdomen was met with Qin Hanyue's knee strike.
Taking advantage of his agony, Qin Hanyue swiftly snatched his gun and fired at him without hesitation.
There was a "ka" as the bullet ran out.
Qin Hanyue spun the handgun and slammed the butt hard into the assassin. After quickly neutralizing his attack, Qin Hanyue grabbed him by his head and took two big steps back, then smashed his head against the wall.
Blood spattered everywhere.
The backseat door was opened, and the chilling short knife was raised up high, poised to stab the unconscious Qiao Ying's throat.
As the tip neared her throat, a hand reached out at the crucial moment and grabbed the descending blade.
The tip stopped right above her neck. Blood trickled down the blade and dripped onto her neck, staining it red.
As ink-black night descended, turmoil brewed beneath the seemingly tranquil city.
After the storm subsided, only two corpses remained outside the hotel's back door.
An undamaged limo left the hotel.
Inside the car,
Qin Hanyue drove single-handedly. He used his mouth to bite one end of a strip of cloth and wrapped up his freely bleeding palm.
They had to get away quickly.
Last time when Qiao Ying killed a Dark Shadow assassin in her villa, the table had chemicals capable of dissolving metal.
He figured those assassins must have been implanted with tracking chips. More would come soon.
Glancing frequently at the rearview mirror, he wanted to check on Qiao Ying in the backseat.
They arrived at the next town by daybreak.
Wrapping Qiao Ying in his overcoat, Qin Hanyue carried her off the car and strode into the hospital.
His pace didn't falter as he bent down to gently kiss Qiao Ying's forehead, feeling it burn.
The gauze on her shoulder was reopened and the wound had torn, seeping blood. After re-dressing it, IV fluids were administered again.
Qin Hanyue's palm was cut deeply, needing stitches. The doctor asked him to treat his hand and shoulder wounds first.
Not daring to leave her bedside, Qin Hanyue made the doctor dress his wounds there instead.
His shoulder was just grazed by the bullet, so he didn't let the doctor treat it. After the doctor and nurses left, f𝚛𝚎𝗲we𝗯𝗻ovel.𝐜om
he blamed himself for failing to protect her better upon seeing her deathly pale face. Recalling that knife last night still sent chills down his spine.
Thankfully she wasn't hurt.
Qin Hanyue gently grabbed one of her hands and kissed it, then sat by the bed still clasping her hand as he closed his eyes to rest.
After some time, the comatose Qiao Ying mumbled something. Qin Hanyue's eyes flew open immediately.
"Feng Ying..."
Hearing her calling Feng Ying again left a bitter taste in his mouth, but joy also arose at the sound of her voice. He could only respond to her over and over, soothing her.
Darkness descended again that night.
After being comatose for a long time, Qiao Ying finally opened her eyes.
They were in a shabby but relatively clean motel room now, with the curtains tightly drawn.
There was someone resting his head by the bedside, holding her hand.
As that immobilized hand twitched lightly, Qin Hanyue awoke instantly.
"Xiao Ying?" Overjoyed to see her awake, he called out.
Too feeble to respond, she felt hazy and muddled. Her injuries tore at her nerves, hurting so badly that tears involuntarily leaked from her eyes.
She wanted to ask where they were and whether the Dark Shadow people were chasing them but couldn't produce a sound.
Qin Hanyue turned on the bedside lamp and asked caringly, "Want some water?"
He hid his injured hand from view.
Unable to respond, he poured some water for her on his own.
With one hand holding up the back of her head, Qin Hanyue fed her water, but she could only drink a sip before it became impossible. He had to stop.
He told her, "It's safe here for now. Rest well."
