Han smiled at her expression while cleaning out a cup with a rag. He has been practicing how to mix drinks and he figured out that this bartender thing wasn’t so bad. With how many drinks he has been mixing all this time he was surely nothing less than a professional now!
“Remember what I said about the upper floors, okay. You know, if you go up there and die, I’ll be pissed. You’re the only hope for this Temple so please try to be a careful”
Yuuma said this in a cold tone, and she looked up at Han from under her hair. She wanted Han to know just how important this was. He cannot just die up there! She expected Han to be serious too, but a silly smile broke across his face as he destroyed the atmosphere completely!!
“Wow, you’re getting soft on me. Don’t tell me you care about me now, Yuuma. I’ll start thinking you’re falling in love if you aren’t careful!”
Han leaned forward on the counter and looked Yuuma right in the eye and she narrowed her eyes at the cocky smirk he gave her. This man is a bully! She is trying to give him good advice and he is just making fun of her!? He is so annoying I could just… Just…
Han’s eyes widened in surprise as Yuuma suddenly leaned forward and her lips slammed into his own. She tasted like alcohol. Strong and concentrated alcohol!! But she was also soft and sweet. Han grabbed the back of her hair roughly and deepened the kiss before she could pull away. Once the two of them separated, Yuuma couldn’t look Han in the eyes! She just wished him good luck once more before disappearing up the stairs to sleep.
Han looked down at the counter. She forgot her drink?
“Sorry! Sorry!! I left this!!”
Han laughed as Yuuma rushed back down the stairs and threw the rest of her drink down her throat in one gulp before rushing back up again! She didn’t even look at him in the eyes once while she was moving! Did she think he would tease her or something? How cute!
Han had a lot of respect for Yuuma because of what she was doing for her people. She is doing her best to fight for her race, all by herself even with all the dangers outside there and she is even putting her trust in me. I won’t let her down that easily.
……
In a dark room, a group of men were meeting around a round table. There were five of them and their bodies were made up of white light in the shape of humans. The scientist was a part of the meeting as well and he was standing on the left side of the man at the head of the table.
The man at the head of the table was looking through a report about one of the Celestials they have been looking for while everyone kept silent. Once he was done, he looked up with a sigh. The person missing was the one who usually welcomes the newcomers to the Temple, since a few months ago they haven’t heard anything from him. His name was Rugger and they have been looking for him all this while, but it was like he disappeared off the face of the Temple.
The man at the head of the table told the other men there to find a new person to accept the newcomers until they found out what actually happened to Rugger. They couldn’t overlook the disappearance of a Celestial, even if it is a weak one who doesn’t have much importance.
Most of the men left after the meeting was over, but the scientist stayed back to speak to the man at the head of the table. He spoke with a somber voice, but if his face was visible then his sinister smile would have shown how much he was lying!
“It’s a shame that Rugger disappeared like that. I always liked the little guy. Maybe he just ran away with some girl. You know how Celestials behave when they find people they want to spend their life with. It’s very hard for us to stop loving someone once we start”
The man at the head of the table hummed. It was a possibility that Rugger just ran away.Â
He could never even imagine that the person who got rid of Rugger was sitting right beside him. The scientist got rid of Rugger when Rugger wanted to reveal the truth about Han all those months ago, but everyone thought that Rugger just disappeared on his own.
The man at the head of the table decided that the scientist was right. They had to also consider that Rugger just ran away with someone. It was very possible.
“Okay, I think we can keep looking for him later. Tell me what you want. You stayed here for a reason, right?”
The scientist smiled internally. It was time for him to start his plan. He was tired of waiting.
“There is a chosen I would like to extract. I’ve become interested in him and he would make a good addition to my laboratory”
The man rose a brow as he saw a file show up on his table. It was nothing new for the scientist to pick out interesting people now and then for his experiments. The creator usually encourages the Celestials to do whatever they wanted with the chosen on the lower floors since they were just entertainment. It was just that the Celestials enjoyed watching those chosen sometimes and that was the only reason they kept them at all. But this scientist was someone who liked cutting them open instead.
The file that appeared in front of him was for a human. A man who looked like he was in his early twenties. He had black hair and black eyes over a handsome face. The man at the head of the table scrunched up his face. He could tell that this isn’t the first time he has seen this person before. Was this picture not shown to him a long time ago? He quickly looked at the name and his eyes widened.
“Oh. Han Luo? Isn’t this that human who showed us extraordinary growth recently. He was the fastest to complete his test, right?”
The scientist nodded his head. They both looked down at Han’s stats again and the scientist felt a sweat build on his brow. He didn’t want the man to know how strong Han was, so he changed the values of his stats in this file. Instead of the white Star stats that Han had, the scientist replaced it with the stats for a high-ranking gold Star. If it was only this much, then it wouldn’t be a big deal for him to take Han! The creator would never allow anyone to take a white Star out of the Temple because they are people who actually have a chance of defeating the Temple and becoming chosen, but a gold Star isn’t important at all.
The scientist heard the man hum and he wondered what was going on inside his mind.
The man at the head of the table could see that Han had good stats. For someone who just came to the Temple, stats like these were impressive! It was almost like this man was one of the strongest on the lower floors! He even reached floor fifty already! But I don’t think it will be good for him to keep going, with stats like these, he will die on those higher floors. Wouldn’t it be better to just give someone who will die to the scientist instead?
The scientist spoke up when he saw the man thinking deeply
“I think he will be a good addition to my experiments. He grows at a fast rate and he might help us to make better systems in the future”
The man nodded along. Yes, that is possible. For someone like Han to become this strong was very impressive. Especially since he is only human!
“Okay, I’ll tell the creator that you want to go to the Temple and retrieve this man. Will you be needing your real body or not?’
The scientist felt like laughing! Why the hell will he need his real body to handle Han!? Even if it was Han’s real stats they were looking at, it still wasn’t up to sixty percent of his power! Using his real body will be overkill! But wouldn’t it be better to be safe than sorry? I don’t know what sort of trick Han has up his sleeve. He could have a boost that temporarily increases his strength. Even if he can’t kill me, I still don’t want him getting away. I’ll just take my body and keep it to one side for now.
“Yes, I’ll need my real body. Maybe the creator can even help me remove the restraints on it. Since I will be on the higher floors, I don’t think anybody will get injured from my presence”
The real bodies of the Celestials were always kept separate from the ones they used to move around. The creator also put restraints on it whenever they go to the Temple with their real body to prevent their full power from destroying everything around them, but if it is the upper floors then it should be fine.
The man nodded once before he vanished into thin air.
……..
Han and Gregory were back on the fiftieth floor the next day. Han told Gregory that where they were going was extremely dangerous. It was a place where Gregory couldn’t afford to pull his punches. If you run into anything that even flinches in a hostile way, then either use that scythe of yours and sever their soul into hell immediately or run like hell is on your heels.
Gregory could feel the importance of the situation from how serious Han looked. Han usually had this carefree attitude around him that could always get on Gregory’s nerves. He was too calm in every situation and the fact that he could handle every situation easily just made it worse! But now that calm person was talking to him like they were about to enter hell. Was it going to be okay up there?
When they got up to the fiftieth floor, Gregory met up with Cersai again and told her what they were about to do. She was obviously against it, and she almost thought about telling him not to go. But she knew that he wouldn’t listen to her since Han was his father and he already made up his mind. She knew that she would be insulting him if she told him to choose between her and his father. So she just kissed him and wished him good luck.
