They were Mung Si from Blazing Skies Mountain, the young master of Four Season Heaven, Yeung Tin Hun, and Imperial Sunset Palace’s Man Ching Hung’s last disciple, Man Yee Ho!

The sad truth that none of their younger generation made it into the top three was a painful slap to the Southerners!

This represented that, be it Kam Chin Kee equipped with his odd puppetry skills or Lam Zaa who had inherited the Hundred Streams body of the first Emperor Lam, were lesser than the three Northern teens in the eyes of Cloud Palace.

Moreover, this was a sensitive period as the Cloud Palace enrollment would be taking place in less than three months! Does this symbolize that Mung Si will become the next disciple of Cloud Palace, the future sixth teacher?

The thought of this left goosebumps on everyone. Despite Cloud Palace staying away from worldly affairs, who could ensure that Mung Si would never help the North go against the South when she grew?

Thus, the Big Three-Eight Institution project was kick-started. Lam Chun hinted to the institutions that resources should mostly be given to their best disciples, as this was the age for teenagers to sprout. With all types of elixirs, g-food, and techniques, these disciples would witness a leap in their cultivation and might turn the tables upside down!

The night deepened as the Wandering Son’s Lake residence was filled with the aroma of flowers. Under Yeung Chun’s care, the courtyard gradually beautified and moved away from its original shabby form that it had when Chui Yim just moved in.

Chui Yim was currently standing in the courtyard with a helpless look. At this point, I don’t even know if I’m the owner of this residence since everyone is entering without my permission or even a notice!

Admiring the silver moon, the pretty Mung Si looked up slightly like a vain phoenix. “Chui Yim, do you remember our promise?”

Chui Yim nodded. The release of the updated Blue Skies Rank garnered Mung Si tons of attention in a good way. At the same time, Chui Yim was in awe of Cloud Palace.

“Will definitely become a thousand-gliphic gliphist if she lives on!” Many only paid attention to the part about being a thousand-gliphic gliphist but failed to notice the last part because the world believed that Mung Si would definitely live on under Blazing Skies Mountain’s protection. However, he and Mung Si both understood the hidden meaning; energy dissociation.

A mysterious condition that worsened as a cultivator grew. The remark for her was a blessing as well as a reminder.

Mung Si never threw this situation to the back of her mind, but she could not make up her mind to have it cured. The results today were the first time that her hard work over such a long time was recognized and also served as a warning alarm to her that things might be too late… if she dragged it out any further.

She would only reach the peak if she survived, as any talents that lost their lives were just like any other dead man.

“You won’t receive unfair treatment from me.” Mung Si turned to Chui Yim. There was a small jade box in her hand. “Here’s the fee.”

Chui Yim waved his hands, not even sparing the box a look or checking its contents. “I’ve already mentioned that all you need to do is let the incident with Chor Clan slide and help Kam Chin Kee rank first in the group competition. Let’s go.”

With that, Chui Yim made his way to his workshop.

Flickering candlelight in a packed room, this was Chui Yim’s workshop where he spent most of his time every day. Be it alchemy, medicine, or forging, which he had put aside recently to focus on True Domineer, he practised all of his skills here, even cultivation.

Chui Yim shut the door behind him.

Mung Si looked around and spotted a huge shadow in the corner, the space that Chui Yim specially set aside for Kam Chin Kee who needed to work on his puppets.

“What’s that?”

“Oh, just Kam boy’s puppet. That huge baby will take a long while,” Chui Yim answered honestly.

He sat on the cushion that Ping Chi gave him and felt the increase in mental strength before starting the treatment. “Come over here. Let me feel your pulse to understand the condition better.”

Mung Si set the differences in their gender aside and sat in front of him, holding her right hand out.

“Pardon me,” Chui Yim whispered and placed his fingers on Mung Si’s wrist.

The warmth from his fingers had Mung Si turning red, but Chui Yim was fully focused and failed to notice it. In fact, there was an ugly expression on his face. Extremely ugly, to be exact.

Chui Yim only heaved a sigh after a long time and looked up solemnly. “This is way more serious than I thought.”

“I’m willing to listen.” Mung Si sat up at the same time.

“Your cultivation is improving too rapidly,” Chui Yim said. This was a piece of news that all cultivators would love to hear, but not the current Mung Si. “Energy dissociation is a tough condition because of how it grows with the cultivator.

“Or maybe it’s because of the style you cultivate, Blazing Skies style. I mentioned before that energy dissociation is fire-attributed as it behaves like fire, burning the cultivator’s vitality. As your energliph grows so quickly, the energy dissociation worsens. This symptom was not seen in the patient my father treated, especially because of his low cultivation, which was what made treatment simple.” Chui Yim frowned.

Surprisingly, Mung Si was calm. “So what do you suggest?”

“To proceed with treatment right now,” Chui Yim replied after a long pause. “We should delay this no more.”

“Oh…” Mung Si looked down, face reddening slightly.

However, Chui Yim did not realise her reaction and continued explaining like a professional. “Only starting treatment will allow me to actually figure out the situation and come up with supporting methods.”

Even though he was fully focused on gliphilities right now, Chui Yim would not forget about medicine. The knowledge and understanding was carved in his bones, which he would not forget about despite not having trained in a while.

“Okay.” Mung Si nodded slowly and stood up. “You… turn around.”

“Huh? Oh… okay,” Chui Yim answered and did as told, back facing Mung Si.

The soft, silver glow casted down on Mung Si, who was in a daze.

Even she did not really know how she viewed Chui Yim.

Mung Si viewed him with disdain at the start, but she slowly learned about the different sides of him through school, medicine, alchemy, and forging. Chui Yim excelled in all areas, and Mung Si couldn’t seem to stop herself from noticing him during lessons.

After some time, she realized that Chui Yim never paid attention, and even Woo Nim couldn’t stand it, calling him out to answer at times which he always succeeded in getting the answer correct. Thus as time passed, Woo Nim let him be.

Chui Yim wasn’t incapable, he just didn’t see the need to show off, like how everyone fought for the position of outer sect class leader but not him.

What moved her the most was how he forcefully carried her on his back to escape back in the Forbidden Forest. The small changes gradually left a strong mark of Chui Yim in Mung Si’s mind, and by the time Mung Si realised it, it was too late.

Mung Si sighed. A girl’s crush was just like a huge flash fire that couldn’t be put out simply.
