“And?” Lee Bat Fan scorned. “Giant Demonic Spiders are powerful ancient gliphic beasts, but they aren’t bloodthirsty and never kill for no reason! They only attack when provoked or hunting for food, which makes these spiders hard to find.

“So what caused this killing spree? It was obviously because you guys stole the spider’s egg!”

When Sung Hau presented the Giant Demonic Spider egg to Lee Bak, Lee Bat Fan was around. Excluding those who already knew, those unaware of this matter looked at Lee Bak with greed.

Giant Demonic Spiders were extremely strong and could definitely become a guardian of the clan. Even if the clan leader died, the clan would still have a guardian beast to protect the clan! Furthermore, Giant Demonic Spiders were legendary beasts that could reach the five-chambered state! There were less than twenty types of gliphic beasts in the world known to be able to reach the five-chambered state, and even seeing such a beast was rare! As a result, the even rare Giant Demonic Spider egg was priceless!

Lee Bak remained unaffected despite Lee Bat Fan’s accusation. He was very mature for his age, and all the Metallic Blood War Gate disciples present followed him willingly. In this situation, all the Metallic Blood War Gate disciples gathered around him subconsciously while all the Cloud Palace outer sect disciples moved closer.

The disciples on the cloud were separated into two groups; red and white.

“What does the item we acquired have to do with you?” Composed, Lee Bak replied slowly.

“What does it have to do with us?” Lee Bat Fan sneered. “If we, the Cloud Palace outer sect disciples didn’t lend you all a helping hand, would you guys have been able to escape the giant spider? The egg is no longer yours since we had to help you fight the spider!”

“Nobody was stopping you from spotting the palm-sized spider in the forest and stealing its egg. If you were that lucky, I would have done the same and rendered you a helping hand in fighting the spider.” Lee Bak’s eyes were only half-open, not even bothering to spare Lee Bat Fan a proper look.

Lee Bat Fan snickered, but he couldn’t reply. Everyone knew that Giant Demonic Spiders were rare and had low fertility rates. “How can you make such a cold comment despite nearly killing Chor Kwong Laan? Aren’t you ashamed of yourselves?” A northern cultivator who was at the side spoke up.

“It’s just a Giant Demonic Spider egg; how greedy are you?” Ching Lang Pak commented disdainfully. “How can you live up to the Cloud Palace’s name with your character?”

“What did you say!”

“I said what I said. What are you going to do about it?”

In that instant, both parties nearly started fighting. “Enough.” The Metallic Blood War Gate teachers and Woo Nim stepped in to stop them. With that, Woo Nim turned to Lee Bak.

“You killed Pak Lai Fung?”

Hearing her, Lee Bak frowned and paused momentarily as if trying to remember who Pak Lai Fung was. He nodded when he remembered the weak and rude boy. “Yes.”

“Alright,”  Woo Nim nodded and didn’t comment further. After, she turned to her students. “There’s nothing wrong with what he said. Your behaviour really is a disgrace to the Cloud Palace outer sect.”

Everyone greatly respected Woo Nim for her status; assistant to the second teacher. But after watching her fight, they respected her for her strength. In this world where strength rules, only the powerful deserve their respect. They were awed by how she unexpectedly single-handedly suppressed the Giant Demonic Spider!

“The Metallic Blood War Gate disciples found the Giant Demonic Spider egg, so we have nothing to do with it. As for the dangerous situation you guys were put in, there would still be other similar situations lurking around even if you didn’t meet the spider. Furthermore, Chor Kwong Laan was saved by Chui Yim. Those who lost their lives were unrelated to this incident. So stop embarrassing the Cloud Palace.” She spoke up slowly.

“Cultivate more and strive to break through your innate chamber sooner if you have so much time and greed.” She then turned to Lee Bat Fan, who turned red as a tomato after hearing her.

“Now, I would like all of you to shut up and practice your battle skills with me instead of wasting time snatching treasures.”

Silence fell over the cloud instantly. None of them was stupid enough to go against Woo Nim when even the experienced Metallic Blood War Gate gliphers didn’t dare to. Cheuk Kwun, who had been spectating since the start, couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

“I’ve recovered enough energliph” With that, he performed the shocking act of drawing a teleportation gliph formation that covered the cloud as everything disappeared.

Outside the Shoddy Cloud Palace outer sect. The Metallic Blood War Gate disciples stood afar outside, waiting for somebody patiently.

Of course, Lee Bak was the only person who could make them wait. Along with Sung Hau, he was talking with Kam Chin-Kee and Chui Yim.

“Thank you so much, brother Kam. If not for your help, things might have ended horribly.” Lee Bak bowed towards him.

“Brother Lee is no ordinary man; I’m sure brother Lee would have his ways to handle such emergencies.” Kam Chin Kee shook his head with a smile, which Lee Bak returned.

“No matter what, I, Lee Bak, still owe brother Kam a favour. I’ll lend you a hand no matter what you need if you ask.” With that, he opened his palm to reveal a shiny bead ── the Giant Demonic Spider egg.

“Brother Kam, this belongs to you.” Kam Chin Kee’s schoolmates looked on in great envy at this, but nobody dared to snatch it from Lee Bak after what Woo Nim said. Even Kam Chin Kee didn’t expect Lee Bak to do so, but he swiftly regained his composure and shook his head.

“That’s not mine, and I won’t accept it. I’m sure brother Lee knows I’m skilled in puppetry instead of beast-taming. But I appreciate brother Lee’s kind intentions.”

Lee Bak didn’t force Kam Chin Kee to accept it, seemingly expecting this. He knew raising a Giant Demonic Spider didn’t require much care, and Kam Chin Kee was simply being courteous.

“Brother Kam will forever be my, Lee Bak’s, good friend.” Lee Bak smiled and didn’t expose Kam Chin-Kee.

“Do pay us a visit for wine when you’re free.” Chui Yim added.

“Definitely.” Lee Bak bowed again. Before he left, he turned back to Kam Chin Kee with a meaningful look. “Brother Kam, see you soon.”

“Are you an idiot? Just visit our residence, and we can see each other anytime.” Kam Chin-Kee and Chui Yim exchanged a weird glance, and Lee Bak said nothing in return. He simply flashed them a smile and left with Sung Hau.
