Wong Chow Yip furrowed his brows at the name. “Who is this Beautiful Gentleman?”
Chui Yim quickly organized the information in his head before answering. “The Beautiful Gentleman was a powerful Northen glipher active around two hundred years ago.
“He was a notable character in many elite cultivator’s biographies and one of the strongest cultivators of his generation. Born in the North, he became a disciple of the Imperial Sunset Palace after breaking through his innate chamber and became the current Imperial Sunset Palace’s Imperial Empress, Man Chin Hung’s junior.
“The Beautiful Gentleman left his sect for the South to gain experience and find opportunities to grow stronger, only to meet the love of his life. He decided to stay in the South as a result, angering the reigning Imperial Sunset Emperor, who tried to force him to return to the North, but the Beautiful Gentleman declared that he wouldn’t return until his death.
“His master found and fought him, and the Beautiful Gentleman wasn’t his master’s equal, as his master was of the thousand-gliphic rank.
“In the end, the Beautiful Gentleman threatened his master with suicide, and with Man Chin Hung pleading on his behalf, their master reluctantly agreed to let him stay in the South.”
Chui Yim spoke, feeling a bit complicated.
The Beautiful Gentleman never wrote a biography, and there was no record of his life due to his hermitary nature. However, his name had appeared in many other books and caught Chui Yim’s attention.
The Beautiful Gentleman’s story riveted him when he heard it. “Sadly, destiny wasn’t kind to him. The one he loved was destined to be an ordinary human who died at eighty. He spent the rest of his life guarding his wife’s tomb.”
As a hot-blooded teen, romance stories were boring to Wong Chow Yip. “He doesn’t seem special. For cultivators, wasting your life on a mortal woman is a foolish move.”This made Chui Yim laugh. “Legends have it that the Imperial Emperor back then was so furious was because the Beautiful Gentleman was supposed to succeed him as Imperial Emperor. Man Chin Hung had once admitted in the Cloud Palace outer sect that he was more talented than her.”
Wong Chow Yip’s face changed once he heard Chui Yim finish as he looked around anxiously. “Senior, please don’t blame me; kindly ignore this child’s ignorance.”
Even Chor Kwong Laan couldn’t help but laugh at Wong Chow Yip.
“Being talented isn’t equivalent to being a good cultivator,” Chui Yim laughed. “Everybody has their own preference, and the path of cultivation isn’t meant for everyone.
“Anyways, so we have to break through this gliph? What should we do it…” Chui Yim focused on his current task.
“Let’s just break the gliph!” Chor Kwong Laan stood up first and opened his fist, a gliph weapon appearing in his palm. As a Chor Clan member, he was straightforward and acted without hesitation.
He waved the long rod in his hands as thick, ink-like energliph congealed around it like a dragon. Countless flower petals flew all over the place before his attack!
“Sky Pillar!” Chor Kwong Laan growled as he activated his energliph. He extended his rod to the skies as the energliph congealed on the rod flew into the sky as a fierce ink dragon!
Chui Yim’s eyes shone as he watched his gliphility.
He was close to the Chors and had seen many of their gliphilities, like Chor Sing’s Three Winds, Chor Shing Chit’s Breeze Mountain and Chor Chong Hoi’s Black Dragon Claw. They practised the same cultivation technique and martial arts, but they had come up with various gliphilities! The different gliphilities always amazed Chui Yim.
The black dragon in front of him was nothing compared to the three gliphilities he had witnessed previously, but he could feel its powerful aura as if the dragon belonged to the vast skies. The aura could be felt even before the gliphility landed.
However, the petals and flowers that were destroyed by the strong gliphility congealed together as if they were being controlled. Colourful petals formed the body of a gentle, beautiful teenage boy with a handheld fan. The figure waved the fan gently as countless petals struck the ink dragon from every direction!
Boom!
The ink dragon let out a desperate cry as it disappeared!
Chor Kwong Laan groaned as he staggered back with blood on the corner of his mouth. Disbelief was written all over his face,
“What a powerful gliphility!“ Chui Yim gasped in shock,
“If I’m correct, you were injured due to the backlash of your gliphility. You would be injured even if your gliphility was ten times stronger as long as your gliphility was destroyed. As for the gliph in front of us, it was left behind by a gliphist who passed away long ago. How powerful must he have been when he was alive?”
“I’ll take care of it!” Wong Chow Yip.
Boom…
Soon, Wong Chow Yip was in the same position as Chor Shing Chit. He flew backwards like a sandbag looking all pale!
They all knew they had little chance of breaking the gliph, but nobody wanted to give up so soon. Even an idiot could tell how precious this chance was. Moreover, since the Beautiful Gentleman was able to leave behind such a powerful gliph, how precious would his legacy be?
After yesterday’s breeze wolf surprise, Chui Yim was greatly interested in the changes to his body. Especially his lightning-like punch. He was aware that Chor Kwong Laan and Wong Chow Yip might not even achieve that level of strength despite him being unable to match their gliphilities, which was why he had watched for now.
On the other hand, Chui Yim’s furious scolding yesterday had an effect as Chor Kwong Laan and Wong Chow Yip’s argued less frequently. However, things soon changed as Chui Yim got bored and asked Chor Kwong Laan to teach him to fight.
“Brother Chui is interested in learning how to fight?” Wong Chow Yip laughed. “Come, I’ll teach you the Wong Clan’s famous Tiger Claws! Violent and straightforward, it is the best skill for men like Brother Chui!”
“Brother Chui, you’re close friends with my clan’s young master; our Military Strike definitely suits you. Clean and quick, it can take down countless enemies with ease! It’s much better than the skills created by mimicking beasts.” Chor Kwong Laan spoke calmly yet coldly.
“What the hell did you say?!” Wong Chow Yip instantly roared while Chor Kwong Laan shut his eyes like a monk and kept silent.
“Okay, just teach me both, and I’ll learn the one more suitable for me!” Chui Yim pacified both of them quickly, the both of them agreeing to his suggestion. “Sure.”
It had apparently slipped their minds that the Military Strike and Tiger Claws were their clan secrets…
