All Chui Yim felt was his focus being pulled into the depths of his body, which was a first for him! This didn’t even happen when he had been facing the Yellow Spring Lady or the phantom monkey’s mental attack. The terrifying experience alarmed Chui Yim; it was like facing death itself! All he saw was a puff of half-congealed grey smoke in the form of a phantom monkey. However, it was different from the one that chased him down.

It had glossy black fur, and black smoke rose from the hair roots. A majestic crown of black and gold, similarly made of smoke, sat on the monkey’s head. The only thing that remained the same was its bloody red eyes.

Sensing the phantasm’s threat, the Heaven’s Flame got to work. Chui Yim felt the familiar powerful suction force that went for the grey monkey. However, the Heaven’s Flame, which always had the upper hand, seemed to finally have met a worthy opponent. The expressionless and seemingly insentient grey monkey raised its fury arms when it felt the suction force. Shadows seeped from its arms and collided against the Heaven’s Flame, resulting in a tie!

Chui Yim broke into cold sweat at the sight of it. Be it up against the Yellow Spring Lady or the phantom monkey’s mental attack, he had been fearless all the time due to the astounding powers of his Heaven’s Flame. He had felt its powers when sitting on the cushion Ping Chi had given him. He knew that the Heaven’s Flame was enough to burn everything in the world, even heaven and earth!

But this spiritual puff of smoke was capable of holding out against the Heaven’s Flame!

Sensing the monkey’s resistance, the Heaven’s Flame became increasingly violent. The ever-calm flame that barely moved most of the time suddenly blazed up and danced like a fiery snake. The suction force increased as it moved, but the grey monkey, which evidently lacked sentience unlike the Heaven’s Flame, grew stronger at the same time to meet its enemy.

The grey smoke had sucked Chui Yim’s consciousness into his own body, and his heart pounded after seeing this. Please… this is my body, not your arena!

However, the Heaven’s Flame and the grey shadow naturally ignored Chui Yim, especially the stubborn flame that had always acted as it wished. The monkey’s resistance enraged it as it burned even fiercer. Chui Yim saw a small, poor thing near the Heaven’s Flame.

Isn’t that my heart!

The angrier the Heaven’s Flame, the faster his heart pounded—so fast that his heart was struggling to keep up. His bottleneck of the Nine Levels of Heaven’s Flame was also affected!

Don’t tell me!? Chui Yim yelped in agony as his thoughts became a reality.

Boom! The bottleneck broke open, and his wind chamber that was filled to the brim saw its energliph surge out crazily. He was very aware of what the turbulence entailed.

He had finally broken through his Innate chamber—but in the middle of the Forbidden Forest!

A group of five was venturing through the Forbidden Forest. Lee Chi Yuen, a single-gliphic gliphist, walked in the middle arrogantly. Despite knowing that he could never break through to the ten-gliphic state, he was still a gliphist nonetheless, a career with a much higher status than gliphers due to their ability to tattoo gliphs. They were the ones who produced cultivators after all.

“Eh?” Lee Chi Yuen muttered.

“What’s the matter, sir?” the buff man leading the way enquired immediately.

The man was Ng Keung, leader of the other three gliphers. They were a team of four one-chambered gliphers, but it was already pushing their limits to even travel through the outer regions of the Forbidden Forest, so they paid Lee Chi Yuen to join them on the condition of giving him half of their proceeds.

Gliphists might have a weak body, but with four gliphers protecting him, the team could at least explore the Forbidden Forest’s outer range.

“Somebody is breaking through nearby,” Lee Chi Yuen said curiously. “Let’s go take a look.”

“Huh?” Mung Si’s eyes shot open as she turned around. Chui Yim’s energliph movement had grown stronger and messier. The talented girl could tell he was about to break through with just a glance.

“Here?” Mung Si stood up and looked around with her gorgeous eyes. The next moment, a team of five appeared from the trees. She glared at them coldly as her snow-white robe danced in the air.

The small logo on the robe caught Lee Chi Yuen’s eyes. Who wouldn’t recognise the logo that symbolised the Cloud Palace?

Lee Chi Yeun understood the situation in front of him immediately. Two Cloud Palace outer sect disciples were here for a training venture; one was going to break through while the other was either guarding him or about to tattoo his gliph!

What a great chance!

Excitement swam across his eyes as he remembered that he’d never be able to break through again in his life…

If we defeat them, we’ll become famous and might attract a powerful clan to recruit me. When I get access to their resources, I might be able to break through again!

Lee Chi Yuen bunrt with greed at this thought. “Take them down! They are Cloud Palace outer sect students who are worth a fortune! Be careful not to kill them!”

The four gliphers felt uneasy having to follow Lee Chi Yuen’s order, especially their leader, Ng Keung. But the gliphist’s  words spurred them into excitement as well.

Without snacking on grass, horses would never grow chubby; without picking up easy money along the way, no ordinary man would become rich! As long as we capture them, we’d be rolling in money!

To Lee Chi Yuen, he cared more about the reputation he’d gain from defeating Cloud Palace students! He was already drawing gliph strings without hesitation.

Mung Si was equally swift in making her move. Her snow-white robe swayed in the air as she drew gliphs. The aura from her gliph strings was enough to leave the team trembling in fear as her gliph strings distorted the air!

Mung Si cultivated the Blazing Skies Style. Despite being a relatively young cultivator, she had energliph that was far superior than that of cultivators of her rank. The five of them hesitated, while Lee Chi Yuen gritted his teeth before shouting, . “There’s no turning back, only death awaits us if we stop here. Hurry!”

The four gliphers knew what Lee Chi Yuen said was true, thus they prepared themselves before charging in.

Mung Si sneered and stared at them like how she always stared at Chui Yim. With a cold glare, she uttered, “Just like moths to a flame.”

Moments later, phoenix cries rang out as the withered leaves around them flared up in flames, and one of the gliphers was caught up in the firestorm. The sharp phoenix cries echoed with the glipher’s blood-curdling screams to create an eerie symphony.

In the sea of flames, a teenage girl stood proudly like a sacred maiden of fire.
