Many gliphists, especially those from the North, nodded in agreement. In the North, there weren’t many gliphists due to the tough survival conditions and the lack of tradition. A gliphist could only survive with the ability to defend themselves.

“Oh yeah.” Only now did the man remember to introduce himself. “I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Hui Sai Cheong, your teacher for this special lesson. You can address me as the third teacher.” He patted his huge belly which jiggled along with his movement.

“From today onwards, I’ll be teaching you all about g-food. Which part of gliphic beasts has the most tender meat, which cooking style can bring out the best of the ingredients and so on. Of course, I’ll let all of you have a taste of my cooking every lesson so you can personally understand the power of g-food!”

Some students frowned upon hearing him, but they remained silent. They were excited to meet the legendary third teacher of the Cloud Palace, but the class content had undoubtedly disappointed them. The students would rather have lessons similar to those of Teacher Cheuk which directly increased their strength.

Amongst them all, the Northern students were more straightforward. Sun Liu spoke up again with a frown. “Third teacher, I know how secretive and powerful the Cloud Palace is, but our aim is to become a stronger cultivator, not a g-chef.”

His words left the third teacher embarrassed. He scratched his head and mumbled. “But I was told I could teach anything?” Quickly, his expression turned serious. “Your words show that you have no understanding of this area.”

Watching the smile disappear from his face, the class held their breaths.

“G-food is the most simple and direct way to improve your strength.” The Third Teacher continued as he pointed at Chui Yim.“Look at your classmate…”

“Chui Yim,” Chui Yim introduced himself.

Third teacher nodded in thanks as he continued. “Look at Chui Yim. He directly acquired the Heaven Spring Body after eating the fish! That’s the best and most direct example. Elixirs might help one cultivate, but as the saying goes, all medicine comes with side effects; this applies to even the best medicine, but never g-food.

“Food is the best supplement for humans. Unless one takes g-food which has too much energliph for him to control, there are almost no side effects from taking g-food. There are countless kinds of g-food in this world; those that help increase your energliph, mental state, cultivation base, and so on. If one takes the right g-food, it can help one’s cultivation magically!” The Third Teacher rambled on happily as he was talking about his favourite speciality.

Sun Liu was wavering after hearing those words, but he continued to frown nonetheless. “The North is filled with g-food; it doesn’t make much sense for us to travel such a long way just to learn about it.”

Suddenly, he heard a giggle, which enraged him. “Who dares?!”

“I dare,” a calm and confident voice replied. Sun Liu turned around to be shocked. It was none other than the current crown prince, Lam Zaa!

He smiled and turned towards Sun Liu in disdain. “Have you thought things through? Have you not heard about the secretive and mighty third teacher because you were too far away in the North?

“Third teacher has a burning passion for the culinary arts,“ Lam Zaa spoke clearly and loudly. “He never appeared publicly after making it into the Cloud Palace at thirteen, going on an anonymous world tour after turning eighteen. Everyone that had the honour to eat the third teacher’s cooking are important figures; my father, His Highness, the elders of the three great institutions and Four Seasons Heaven sect leader Yeung Ha. There are even rumours that the previous Blazing Skies Mountain sect leader, Yim Yung, requested the third teacher to cook for him in exchange for three grade four gliph weapons and a piece of precious armour. However, the third teacher rejected his offer.

“After that, the third teacher was recognised as the best chef of the world in his generation under the pseudonym, Great Master King. However, he vanished into thin air again, only to appear about ten years ago when the best Southern imperial chef, Sit Ting, suddenly disappeared. It was on that day when the three great Northern tribe leaders came to visit. Due to Sit Ting’s absence, nobody was left to prepare for the banquet. The tribe leaders felt insulted and nearly started another war.

“My father, His Highness, approached the third teacher for help. Among the tribe leaders was Tribe Leader Sun Ba Si, who had tasted the third teacher’s cooking in the past, so that was how everyone found out that the Great Master King back then was in fact the third teacher. This also helped ease the tension and prevent the war which nearly started.

“Tribe Leader Sun Ba Si is brother Sun’s grandfather, am I right?” Lam Zaa turned to Sun Liu with a smile.

After hearing Lam Zaa’s story, the class turned to the third teacher in admiration, while Hui Sai Cheong scratched his head awkwardly with an embarrassed smile. If nobody told them, it would be difficult to believe that this chubby, innocent-looking man was the third teacher of the Cloud Palace!

“If I were to give real value to this dish,” Lam Zaa continued, “the fish we ate previously would cost as much as a grade-four gliph weapon. So be grateful.“

With that, he turned to the third teacher once more and bowed. “I’ve had the honour of tasting the third teacher’s Story of Life’’, and I still cannot forget it even today.”

Third teacher said with his face red as a tomato, “I’m so embarrassed, hahaha…”

After Lam Zaa’s introduction, the ordinary-looking third teacher now seemed like a god in the student’s eyes. Some were thinking about how the mouthful of food they just had was equivalent to a grade three gliph weapon, while others were staring at Chui Yim angrily as they missed the chance to taste it due to him.

However, Chui Yim, who was absorbed in the lesson, couldn’t be bothered. Not because the knowledge of g-food could improve his cultivation, but because he was a foodie, an extremely picky one, thanks to Chui Tin and Lam Ming who left him with high standards for food. His mouth was already watering just by listening to the third teacher, but there was no way he could eat any more after digesting so much fish.

“Alright. Today’s lesson will end here,” the Third Teacher dismissed the class after glancing at the sky. “Chui Yim, stay behind. There’s something about the Heaven Spring Body I want to confirm.”

Chui Yim’s heart fell. Did this fatty sense the Heaven’s Flame in me? Or is he about to take revenge because I ate so much of his fish?!
