In the Chor Clan residence, Chor Kwong Laan was practising the Spiral Dragon Rod style.

The recent incident was quite a big blow to him. The Chor Clan had strict rules, and all their disciples were well-disciplined, including him. But that didn’t make him less arrogant, considering that he was the genius of his generation who broke through at eleven.

Now that he had the Spiral Dragon Claw tattooed in his left-arm chamber and a self-created gliphility, Chor Kwong Laan was considered an excellent cultivator amongst his generation.

The fight between Chui Yim and Mung Si had left him speechless. Chor Kwong Laan recalled the incident after he calmed down and realised that be it against Chui Yim’s weird tools or Mung Si’s skills, he would be completely helpless going up against either of them. And what had left the greatest impact on him was that he required Chui Yim’s treatment after being attacked by the crazed Chor Fung.

After the incident, deputy clan leader Chor Chong Hoi talked to Chor Kwong Laan personally to explain the relationship between Chui Yim and their clan. Chor Kwong Laan was entitled to some secrets as he was the genius and future pillar of the clan. The talk made him view Chui Yim in a different light; at least his hatred for the bald teen had faded. Moreover, Chui Yim was the one who treated him, so there was nothing much he could say.

“Kwong Laan! Come here!” Just then, Chui Yim dashed into the Chor Mansion.

Chor Kwong Laan’s eyebrows twitched. He still hadn’t gotten used to how Chui Yim addressed him like his elders did.

Chui Yim was so angry that his eyes were red, and Chor Kwong Laan couldn’t help but have goosebumps seeing him like this. “You… What’s the matter?”

“I say, are you willing to accept it?!” Chui Yim asked without context, leaving Chor Kwong Laan at a loss.

 “Accept what?”

“Accept that you were seized by that Wong Clan kid that day!”

Chor Kwong Laan’s face turned black on hearing him. The Wong Clan and Chor Clan never saw eye to eye. While Chor Huet Zhin had been alive, he had suppressed the Wong Clan forcefully and became the leader of the four generals. Now that he was no longer in this world, the Wong Clan would naturally seize the chance to suppress the Chor Clan. What Wong Chow Yip did in class the other day was an act of suppression too.

“It was a chance for him because I am injured. If I were to really fight that madman, we would tie at most.”

Chui Yim broke into a smile upon hearing this. He immediately held up his chin and stared at Chor Kwong Laan with an expression like he was looking down on him.

“What if I say I have a way to help you win?” he whispered mysteriously.

“What way?” Chor Kwong Laan’s eyes nearly popped out.

In glee, Chui Yim pulled Chor Kwong Laan to the side and whispered something to him.

Chor Chong Hoi was in a quiet room at the side, smiling from the corner of his eyes. “This kid…”  He shook his head and shut his eyes, going back to cultivation.

A few days later, another Woo Nim’s lesson took place with the same boring content.

However, it was obvious that many went home to revise after she mentioned that those who couldn’t answer her questions during her random selection in class wouldn’t have to come back.

Today’s lesson ended with Woo Nim saying the same thing. Despite seeming as uninterested during lessons, all the students went home and revised.

As always, Woo Nim left the class first, followed by the students who prepared to leave one by one. Suddenly, Chor Kwong Laan blocked Wong Chow Yip.

“Wong Chow Yip, do you dare to receive my challenge and fight me?” he said with the Chor Clan’s symbolic poker face.

Wong Chow Yip stared at him blankly. He returned to his senses in no time, wearing a fierce expression. This was an open challenge he couldn’t reject!

In the Cloud Palace’s outer sect, where many young talents were, it was impossible for Wong Chow Yip to reject it. Moreover, they were rivals that had fought many times, making them well aware of each other’s abilities. Wong Chow Yip didn’t fear Chor Kwong Laan.

“Alright! Why not!”

“At least you’re still a man, not a rat who only knows how to fight when the other party is injured.” Chor Kwong Laan sneered and left, leaving an angry Wong Chow Yip following him with a growl.

Their classmates watched the scene excitedly. Both Wong Chow Yip and Chor Kwong Laan were powerful cultivators of their generation, and they were of different clans with distinct combatstyles. How often could they spectate such an interesting fight? Thus, many classmates followed them, leaving only a few like Mung Si and Kwan Shan Chuen, who had no interest in the matter.

Proudly, Chui Yim glanced at Kam Chin-Kee and left with Chor Kwong Laan and the rest. Roughly knowing that it was Chui Yim who was behind all this, Kam Chin-Kee also went along.

The class headed towards the cultivator’s arena on Azure Dragon Avenue.

The cultivator arena was a facility that could be found in every major city. Cultivators often had disputes with others, but fighting within cities was against the law. Thus, arenas were created to allow cultivators to settle their grievances; all they had to do was pay. There would be a judge in every arena and gliph formations to prevent the gliphilities or gliphs from damaging the city.

There were four arenas in the South Imperial City, one in each avenue.

Once they arrived, Wong Chow Yip and Chor Kwong Laan paid their fees smoothly as they were already familiar with the place. An elderly man came and scanned everyone present with his old eyes. It made every one of them anxious upon feeling his powerful energliph. A hundred gliphic gliphist wasn’t someone they could challenge.

“Arena currently in use, Chor Kwong Laan against Wong Chow Yip,” the gliphist announced.

Wong Chow Yip huffed and patted the jade at the side of his waist, a long staff appearing in his hands. The top of the staff was larger, while the other end was thinner and smaller. This was the Hungry Tiger Cane style, a similarly renowned style as the Chor Clan’s Sprial Dragon Rod style. The gliph weapon in Wong Chow Yip’s hands was no ordinary item either.

As soon as Wong Chow Yip revealed his gliph weapon, there was a commotion among his classmates.

“That gliph weapon looks so familiar…”

“I know! It’s a work by the water-forger, Great Master Mok Ching Yau from two years ago, Ceremony Mountain.”

“Great Master Mok Ching Yau? The great master at his peak, who’s just a step away from the grandmaster rank, Mok Ching Yau?”

“Of course that’s the one. Great Master Mok is one of the best water-forgers, and he crafted this work with precious spring water from Ceremony Mountain, an eerie mountain near the Hidden Vanguard City.”
