Chapter 4007: Challenge of Survival I

The number on the map was ten he placed the last mark on it before the whole map itself began to shine.

It flew out of Iary's hand and shone even more brightly, with its shine covering a large area, that made us unable to sense or sense what was happening there.

A few seconds later, the shine turned off and in its place is not a familiar bronze gate.

Everyone turned even more alert. Whoever walked first will be in the most danger. Everyone might attack them together; it's why, I stepped forward the first.

I walked, relaxed, and even wanted to whistle, but that would have been too much.

Being relaxed is not an act; I am relaxed. I might not be able to handle what they throw at me, but my shield could. That I have confidence in.

So, there is nothing to fear.

I walk each step toward the gate, feeling their gazes becoming sharper and heavier.

Of them, only one needs to act and others would act immediately with them, and I really hope they do because I will see their full power.

Unfortunately, nobody had attacked even when I had stepped into the gate.

It disappointed me a lot, but there was nothing, I could do about it.

Maybe I shouldn't have spoken the words about not wanting the first prize.

They believed and decided to not attack me.

Step!

I stepped into the familiar hall and a few seconds later. They, too, did it one after another, with Foxman after me, then Hayat, then Anna, and then finally, Aros.

Since you all have information. What do you think, the next challenge would be?" I asked.

They all looked at me, hesitantly before Iarys opened his mouth.

"We only have the information of the last three times and all three times. The challenges were different," he replied, with a sigh.

"What sort of challenges were they?" I asked, and he simply waved his hand.

Soon, four energy scrolls appeared in front of me. Three describes the challenges, while the four had other information about the castle, mainly rewards.

I was surprised to read them.

"Whatever the challenges, they were, all of them were difficult. Even those who breezed past all the challenges with the top scores, had found a great trouble in them," added Ayat.

I nodded and read the scrolls carefully before a small frown appeared on my face.

"There seemed to be an equalizing factor in them," I said, and they all nodded.

"In the last challenge. The raw power is the least useful." Said Iarys. I couldn't help, but nod at that.

If the information in the scroll is right, then two of the three last challenges were even combat-related. They were something different, and interesting, I began to wish they would be repeated.

They would really be a challenge to me.

Nothing could be said, three isn't a big sample. To be repeated.

If there are data of at least ten final challenges and not a single one of them is repeated. I would have believed it, with three, there is a hope for repeat.

I didn't say anything further on that and closed my eyes to rest.

We have finished the challenge in our six hours. We have a lot of time on our hands to rest and recuperate to prepare for the last challenge.

I didn't sleep, but meditated, with my focus active.

If someone evaded my personal space. I will know about it immediately and be able to react.

Soon, I had entered half-sleep. I had sensed people coming and their numbers increasing, but

I didn't open my eyes; I stayed in the state for ten hours before finally opening them.

When I looked, there were people all around me.

There are seventy-eight of them, which means, twenty-two have yet to come.

If the information is right; there is one thing common about all these last challenges. They only have a hundred people in them.

For a reward, hundreds could come as there are a total of five hundred, but the final challenge is for only the hundred people.

Though there might be a lot of rewards, the best rewards are in the top fifty. The rest is conciliary, some might even say humiliating.

Things, that could be found outside.

I pushed those thoughts and looked at the people around me. memorizing faces and assorting them with their fights.

A lot of these people fought with us. Its why some shuddered when I looked at them, especially those who suffered the pain through my methods.

They looked away seeing me looking at them.

I didn't scare them by staring at them longer. I simply closed my eyes again after, I got a good

look at them, before opening them again when the last of twenty-two gathered.

Now that hundreds are gathered, everybody looking at the gates or the clock.

There is some time, its why, I had closed my eyes again. Only opened them, when I heard the bell.

I got up and looked at the doors that had opened.

People had already started walking toward them and I didn't wait around.

Step!

I reached the door and appeared on the other side.

When I looked around, I couldn't help, but get surprised. I am in the massive arena, and this is

a challenge of survival.

I looked at the bronze arena around us, made of yellow bricks.

There are millions of seats, but only a few have been occupied. They are people who entered

the challenge; even those who decided to give at first challenge are here, looking at envy and

joy.

It is not good joy, they are looking at us with, but a bad one.

I would have had the same expressions. If I had been sitting in the area and read the rules.

I looked at two bronze bands on my hands and then turned to the rules.

There are two scrolls. One describes the rules of the challenge, while the other describes the rules for using bands in our hands.

They are complex, and reading them some frowned, while others grinned, because the challenge is only equalizer in name.

Looking at those rules; certain people will have a distinct advantage over others.
