CHAPTER 197
"This night, you won't. Close your eyes." They both closed their eyes but in actual fact, Jay could not deny that he himself was scared of the unknown.
He did not want to hurt Jade but if it came down to it, he had no choice, knowing fully well that it would kill Xander in the process, taking his eternal joy away from him.

Just like that, soon it was Jenny's birthday, and ever since Macy's last talk with Jade, she did not see or hear from her friend.
She had been wondering what she was up to but resigned her fate when she got nothing, not even from Asia.
She was informed that Jade was now flying solo in her search and revenge of which no one knew what or whom she was scouting for.
Several cars trooped into the residence where the party was being held. Men and women, young girls and guys, rich heiresses and heirs all trooped into the main hall and were greeted by the wonderful display of decorations and a beautifully decorated hall.
Amongst one of those guests was a stunning lady who was gracefully clad in a lavender dress walked towards the hall, as the massive door welcomed her presence all the comrades fell into utter silence.
She looked no less than an enchanting kitsune having a glistening waterfall of silver hair which she had let loose for men to get drowned in it. She scurried further towards the railing of the staircase and her milky hands with covered arms grabbed the support.
The big diamond rested on her index finger as she deliberately flung her one leg out which had a silver chain around her thigh.
It seemed the fox queen was there to snag attention as she glided down like a goddess descending in the invisible cloak of grim reaper.
All the appreciation in and lust in men's eyes and envy in women's was unaware of how destructive the lady was. Beneath her lavender silk gown which flowed all over her body and covered her delicate bright skin, rested a fully loaded gun hidden on her other thigh.
Her silver masquerade mask embedded with beads had been hiding her identity, just like her camouflage had been masking all her intentions and thorns. As soon as she reached in the midst of the comrades the woman smiled and skimmed her silver greyish eagle eyes in search of the wine corner.
The attention scattered and she became ready to play her cards like a sneaky fox, the lady executed her tricks carefully that even after her target would die no one could suspect her since there had many desired eyes on her to vouch for her innocence.
Before everyone knew what was happening, the MC announced the arrival of the birthday celebrant, stealing the attention of everyone from the mysterious lady and bringing them back from their reverie to the lady of the day.
Her own dress was exquisite but of the audience were true to themselves, Jade's gown and her composure, coupled with her mask and shining silver hair, did well to steal the day from her.
Thanking the stars, Jade took this opportunity to get missing behind the crowds as her eyes did their own fair share of scouting for her prey.
Unknown to Jade, while she was entering, a certain man standing upstairs and watching the crowd took note of her entry and began to descend down the stairs in search of the beautiful diamond that disappeared.
It was like they had planned it, he too wore a touch of lavender in his outfit as it shone through his breathtaking white tuxedo with his hair, combed all back and his lovely blue eyes adding up to the ensemble to create the perfect spitting image of who he was.
Xander Warner, the almighty CEO and richest bachelor of Star Cross City.
The instant he sighted her, his heart began to pound in his chest. Earlier on when she stepped into to the vicinity, he had felt a sharp pain but could not sense her either.
He had thought that perhaps she was beginning to think again and that was why he felt the pain. However, when she took her first step in, he had his eyes fixed on the door, that and her outfit plus her silver hair only further gave her away.
To the many others in the hall, they would have thought that she had died her hair as her person still remained dead in their eyes. So only a few knew who she really was and one of those few was him.
His heart leaped for joy in his body at the sight of her and although the dread came, he knew he was more joyed than scared of what her presence brought.
He knew she was dashingly, gorgeously beautiful before when she masked her identity, but now, scrap that, she was a goddess of beauty herself.
Who knew that her hair and lovely eyes could enhance her beauty the more?
Without informing his friends, knowing they would stop him, Xander's legs moved on their own. The mate bond was at work here. He just did not see himself resting and watching her.
His mind, body, and soul wanted to see her and be with her. To hug her, hold, kiss, caress and do all manner of things with her.
It was like an invincible rope was drawing him closer to her and not until he did, he would not be at ease with his inner self. And so he did, taking quick steps to catch up with her.
The faster he moved, the slower she did. Even though her attention was focused on the drink she was about to take, her eyes could still spot him from afar.
'Bingo. Tsk, men would be men or in this case, the male species would be males, be they dragons, animals or men. Come, Xander, come to your early grave.' Jade thought.
She picked up a wine glass and downed its content slowly, giving Xander some time to catch up to her and just when he was close enough, reaching out his hand to touch her from the back, Jade smiled to herself and moved away, causing him to catch air.
"And now, Lady Jenny would have her first dance with her boyfriend, now hewer fiancé," the MC announced.
Jade's eyes dimmed a fraction when she heard the word. "Fiancé?" She muttered to herself. The last time she met them, they had not yet engaged.
So she was more shocked than not as to when they did it. It was at this time she took her time to see the lady in question. From her head to her toes, she was carefully adorned with intricacies of gold and silver.
To her right was the second man of the day, the fiancé to the dashing beauty. Both of them wore smiles on their face but only those who knew them could tell that this smile was not as genuine as the celebration entailed.
All of Jade's friends knew that she may use this opportunity to want to attack Xander as his guard would be let down and that was why they weren't to happy but Xander himself wanted it and he even agreed to sponsor the party.
While the others thought of keep him safe, his only thoughts was the joy in seeing the love of his life again.
What a Dragon Lord!
Her lips curved up into a knowing mischievous smile.
'Yes you should be scared for him as you guys made my father be scared on such an auspicious night.' Jade thought to herself as a dark glint flashed in her eyes.
Before she knew what was happening, a soft serene music began to play and Sky and Jenny took their stand, courtsied and bowed to each other before moving in close to hold themselves.
"How touching. Too bad my own love story is about to come to a complete close."
She smirked and moved away but not before making sure that the man in a white tuxedo was flowing her.
Immediately she passed by one of the body guards and made her way down up the second stairs leading to the passage and the rooms, the guard became alert. Quickly he touched the communication device on his ear and spoke.
"Sir. She is here."
"Where exactly? A voice from the other end of the phone spoke.
"Through the second stairs, leading upstairs to where the rooms are,' the guard informed him precisely.
"Good and him? Have you laid eyes on…" Before Jay finished, the guard interrupted him.
"Sir, I am afgraid to say, he just followed after her."
'Damn it. He is really playing with fire and doing the hide and seek game with her.' Jay thought to himself. What is wrong with this Dragon Lord of mine? Urghh!'
"Fine, keep an eye out for him. I would be coming right away."
"Noted sir."
