CHAPTER 195
"Jade, please stop saying that. You are only human, There was no way you could have known and you loved him from your heart."
"Look at what that love had done to me, huh? It has killed me. I killed them all, I brought it on myself."
"Stop this Jade. You are not to blame. Stop it," Macy chided her.
"It hurts."
"I know it does but look, you have been stronger before, you can still be the same strong Jade I know. Just be strong for me and do not forget dear, you are not alone. Not now, not ever."
***
Days passed and Jade remained indoors mourning her family afresh again. Meanwhile Arctic had tried to talk to her but she was not in the mood to speak with anyone, including her friends.
Apparently she stopped receiving anyone and just decided to be on her own for a while to get over things.
Before long, a month had passed already and Xander and herself had still not seen each other.
He went on with his normal life but even that was not normal as his joy was taken away. No longer was he whole again. It felt like a part of him was totally gone but every now and then he searched deep to feel what it was that she was feeling and found nothing.
It was like she was gone, cut away from the chords of connection but in reality she was there and nothing mattered anymore to her, or so she thought.
On a bright and sunny day, Jade got up from her bed and from the downhill that life had thrown her into and smiled.
She did not know why she did that but something told her that her life had just taken another route and she was going to change things for the better.
She made her way downstairs towards where her car stood proud and tall and entered it. Jade took a quick glance at the mirror, smiled again, put on her shades and started the car.
"It is time for my revenge."
Within a few minutes she reached her destination and highlighted from the car. Even though she had been sulking up for over a month now, she still had tabs on the activities of her enemies and now she was prepared to take back from them.
She got into the warehouse of a building. The very likelihood and spitting image of the one that brought out her troubles, only that this one was situated in a not so remote area. There were lives everywhere unlike the previous one.
She saw everything flash before her eyes again but did her best to stand form and tall like she was not bothered.
As soon as she stepped foot into the building, she was greeted by several eyes who had since been awaiting her arrival.
There were men of different ages, young girls inclusive all dressed in white leather pants And jackets with a touch of white inner shirts inside.
To her right, Jade's eyes locked with Asia. She looked beautiful but even more dangerous than before.
Her once shining black hair had been dyed a sharp dark red, portraying the blood of her enemies while her white boots, had designs of black in it to match her black gloves, a sign of how terrible her heart was to her enemies.
Jade smiled. This was her best friend who always stood by her. She just managed to escape death and now she was ready to battle it out again putting her life on the line for her friend once more.
She smiled at her before averting her gaze to the person by Asia's side. It was Arctic, her father. Although the father and daughter duo still hadn't mended their relationship, the hatred wasn't as much as it was before.
Jade had once called for Arctic and told him she forgave him but warned him not to repeat himself again and also told him he would need to earn her trust back.
He agreed to the terms and conditions. He was gladder than anyone that his pain and his troubles were gone. Yes he had even expected more challenges from Jade to test him out but in her goodness and kindness of heart, she didn't.
Jade dipped her head a little bit in respect and then she moved her gaze to every person present in the ware house.
These were some of her father's men remaining. They had decided to assemble upon her call to stand by her even in trying times.
No matter what, she still was the heiress to the Frost empire and should have been the Mafia Lord if not that her naming was interrupted by the demise of her family.
"Men, sisters, brothers, I welcome you all today. Thank you for honoring my invitation."
"Greetings, Lady Jade," they chorused after her.
"I am sorry to everyone. I know we all have lost someone dear to us in the cause of this raid but I assure you, vengeance would be ours. I would visit the sins of the Anders upon them and their family and take back from them all that was stolen from us. This time around, we fear no one and we hide from no one. The time has come to live up to our name."
"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and family for family," some of the men muttered to themselves.
"The humans tremble before us, death fear us and even the heavens thunders at the mention of our name, we are the FROST EMPIRE!" The crowd thundered before her as their morale rose.
Jade felt her heart lifted up. This was the first time in months since the accident that most of her people were seeing her.
They all thought that the Frost heiress was dead and due to that, some of her people had gone to join other mafia groups. It was only a few who remained loyal to the first name that came back when they heard of her return.
They did not need someone to tell them about it before they knew. It did not take them time before they could recognize that the ladies that waltz inside the warehouse was Jade Frost.
Her silver hair and her walking step had given her away. Not to speak of, her voice. They were really glad and she could see it in their eyes. They had been like lost sheep without a shepherd.
And now that it had been proven she was live, everyone felt their morale had increased exponentially. Now they could actually make the Anders pay and hear the sweet sounds of their cry and anguish.
It was going to be bloody.
"This war," Asia muttered to herself.
"Yes it is. This is a new Jade, one fueled with anger and rage. The country would hear of her rebirth one way or another."
'We would take back what was once ours and kill anyone who stands in our way. Let us rebuild the Frost empire and lift our flags high. For our fallen brethren!"
She removed her shades and raised her right hand up. Her eyes shone with anger, the rage that could only be quenched by the blood of her enemies.
"For our brethren!" Everyone chorused.
***
Now that her plan was set in motion, Jade let Macy take over the company for her but that was because she did not want to have anything to do with the Warner Corporations anymore but she also could not deny that the business partnership she had with them was indeed what her company needed.
Ring! Ring!
Jade looked at her phone and noticed that it was Macy calling.
She did not want to pick the phone as she knew what her friend wanted to say.
Earlier on they had an argument which did not end up well. Macy had pleaded with her to accept Xander back but that was not going to happen.
Before they knew what was happening, Jade had lost it and yelled at her friend. Ever since then the two hadn't talked again.
'What does she want to tell me this time around?' Jade thought.
Even though her mind itched to know the reason, she was just too stubborn and after the phone rang and the call ended, she smiled then picked it up.
DING!
At the same time, a message came into her phone and she unlocked it to check.
"Hey Jade, I know you are there and you probably do not want to talk to me, but I want to talk to you, kindly pick up the phone and answer when next I call."
Ring! Ring!
"Oh… Macy, please not now." Her hand had already gotten close to the end call icon when her hand mistakenly touched the green. 'Sigh! I guess I have no other choice now, do I?'
"Hello?"
"Jade. I am sorry dear."
"What is the matter, Macy?"
"Please talk to me, again."
"Am I not talking to you?"
"No."
