Chapter 236: Come and Try

There were many cultivators slowly walking toward Fang Chen. Many of them had already drawn their treasures.

The next moment, Fang Chen released Little Sword. It flew ahead and instantly stabbed a bloody hole through the heads of the sea beasts.

Blood gushed out, staining the sea a deep red in an instant.

The cultivators who were about to attack Fang Chen froze in place, cold sweat breaking out on their foreheads.

At the same time, the young man who was supposed to leave suddenly stopped in his tracks, his face turning grim as a trickle of blood escaped from the corner of his mouth.

Seeing that, someone rushed forward to support him, their face wreathed in concern. "Are you alright, Young Master?!"

"Young Master's Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts have been killed!"

The young man's face darkened as he turned back to the deck, staring at the five dead Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts.

Meanwhile, Little Sword had returned to Fang Chen's side, swirling around him, ready to counter any attacks.

"He’s a sword cultivator?" muttered one of the passengers.

Those who had just been prepared to attack Fang Chen were now trembling with fear. They almost lost their grip on their treasures. Their gazes toward Fang Chen were filled with nothing but horror.

The young man looked at Fang Chen, his gaze lingering on Little Sword for a moment. "Were you the one who killed my Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts?"

"Seems like it," replied Fang Chen casually.

The young man's face grew darker. "Who are you?"

Fang Chen sneered in response. "What's it to you?"

After a moment of silence, the young man nodded slowly. "Fine, I'll remember this. If fate allows, we'll meet again." With that, he turned to leave again.

However, Fang Chen chuckled. "You're quick to kill, yet now you want to run away. Is this befitting of someone of your status? I figured the Sea Dragon Sect must be quite famous, or else those people wouldn't be so terrified of you."

The captain hesitated. He hoped Fang Chen would let the matter rest and allow everyone to go their separate ways. At least they’d manage to live to see another day. In the future, the Sea Dragon Sect would only trouble Fang Chen.

If Fang Chen made a big deal out of this... they might get involved and suffer the consequences!

"What? Are you going to attack me?" The young man paused, looking at Fang Chen with a smirk. "My Sea Dragon Sect has a Golden Core Realm expert. Does your sect have a cultivator at that level? You don't even dare to reveal your background, so you’d better think twice before you attack. I'm afraid your sect can’t handle the repercussions."

Glancing at Little Sword flying around Fang Chen, he chuckled. "You better not waste your efforts trying to convince me you’re a sword cultivator. There are sword cultivators in this world, yes, but they wouldn't stoop to traveling by boat."

That's right.

Everyone suddenly realized that the person in front of them was probably not a sword cultivator; he just happened to refine a flying sword as his treasure.

Sword cultivators wouldn't travel by boat. Their speed, flying on their swords, was beyond what ordinary cultivators could match.

"So, do you have anything to say for yourself?" said the young man lightly.

Fang Chen chuckled. "What? Can’t I kill you even if I am not a sword cultivator?”

"Kill me?" The young man’s eyes were rife with mockery. "Do you know what the consequences of killing me would be?"

"This is our Sea Dragon Sect's Young Sect Leader. If you try to harm even a strand of his hair, you’ll pay with your life a hundred times over, regardless of your background!

The Sea Dragon Sect Young Sect Leader!

The passengers were even more shocked.

The captain hastily looked at Fang Chen, his eyes pleading."Let’s let the matter rest, Young Master."

"He managed to kill my Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts, so he should be at the eleventh stage of the Qi Refining Realm. We might not be able to deal with him directly, but what can he do to us?” The young man smirked. "This ship is imprinted with thirty-six Soul Imprints. It’s ranked among the highest tier of mid-grade artifacts in the Yellow Rank. Can that flying sword of his even touch us?”

The passengers sucked in a breath of cold air, staring at the massive black ship in shock.

Thirty-six Soul Imprints?

Even Foundation Building Realm cultivators might not possess such a treasure! Only those at the peak of Foundation Building Realm or above might have such an item!

Although ships were different from ordinary treasures, their purpose was to protect those on board so they could safely reach their destination at sea, powered by spirit stones.

But ship treasures of such a grade were extremely rare. Only a sect with a deep heritage such as the Sea Dragon Sect could have something like this.

Fang Chen seemed curious to see if Little Sword could actually break through their defenses or not. "Why don’t we give it a shot?" he said.

If Little Sword was able to devour the ship, would it be able to transform? Perhaps, if it did, he’d be able to obtain the inheritance left inside this sword of his!

The young man, with an air of indifference, stood at the front of the black giant ship, looking at Fang Chen with a smirk. "Go ahead."

Fang Chen nodded. "Okay."

In the next moment, Little Sword transformed into a silver lightning bolt, heading straight for the young man.

The black ship immediately erected a thick and sturdy spiritual shield, thicker than ordinary treasure ships, spanning about thirty feet wide!

Behind the shield, the young man remained calm and composed, his smile becoming even more pronounced. The look in his eyes toward Fang Chen was filled with disdain and mockery.

"What a thick shield. Not to mention five Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts, even a hundred of them won’t be enough to break through it!”

"Nonsense! With such a shield, even Foundation Building Realm-level sea beasts can be repelled as long as they have enough spirit stones!"

The cultivators around Fang Chen whispered.

The next second, Little Sword pierced through the spiritual shield of the black ship, and with a "puff," it drilled into the young man's skull, then flew out from the back of his head, a sticky string of blood in its wake.

A hint of a smile appeared in Fang Chen's eyes. "Not bad." He finally knew how powerful Little Sword was.

The cultivators around the young man were dumbfounded, and they began roaring in anguish.

“Young Sect Leader!”

“Young Sect Leader!”

"Kill them all," muttered Fang Chen softly.

Little Sword once again transformed into a silver light, ruthlessly slaughtering all the cultivators on the black ship in just a few moments. Their spiritual shields, and even their defensive treasures, were as fragile as tofu before Little Sword.

The black ship fell into silence, devoid of any living souls. The scattered corpses littered the ground, creating a gruesome scene.

The captain looked at Fang Chen with horror in his eyes. "You... You’ve killed the Sea Dragon Sect Young Sect Leader...."

"You’ve got any problem with that?" asked Fang Chen with a thin smile.

The captain immediately dared not utter another word. The surrounding cultivators hung their heads low. They didn’t even dare to meet Fang Chen’s eyes.

Those cultivators who had intended to kill Fang Chen earlier quietly retreated, but before they could take so much as a single more step back, a silvery radiance passed by them, and in the next moment, darkness.

"Don't kill us! Don't kill us! We won't report you, we absolutely won't!" The remaining cultivators kneeled on the ground in terror, even the captain instinctively knelt down.

"Who said anything about killing you? I’ve killed them because they wanted to kill me earlier. It’s all cause and effect." Fang Chen chuckled, collecting everything from the cultivators.

The passengers breathed a sigh of relief. The captain gathered his courage and suggested, "Young Master, their ship now belongs to you. Why don’t you use it to travel by yourself? This way, you’d be giving us a way out. If the Sea Dragon Sect finds out we helped you, I'm afraid none of us will survive...."
