Immortal of the Nine Realms

Chapter 235: Fighting Violence with Violence!

Chapter 235: Fighting Violence with Violence!

"Isn’t that a Jade-Eyed Stormy Beast?" exclaimed one of the cultivators, his eyes filled with fear.

"Indeed... and there's more than just one..."

Except for a few cultivators who remained calm, the others were all plunged into terror.

Adult Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts were equivalent to experts at the 11th stage of the Qi Refining Realm and could create terrifying waves! Many ships were destroyed by them. If there was only one, things might still be manageable, and their ship might’ve been able to withstand it. But now, there were at least five of these beasts surrounding the ship. Without external aid, they were almost doomed!

"Don't panic, everyone. Let's wait and not provoke them. Perhaps they'll leave on their own," said the captain calmly.

What the captain didn’t notice was just how extremely frightened the middle-aged man and the girl became when they saw the group of Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts.

Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts... Fang Chen silently assessed the sea beasts.

Last time when he sailed to the Clear Sky Monastery, he hadn’t been met with such a situation. This was his first time seeing sea beasts up close. They seemed somewhat different from land creatures; they were very big, too.

These sea beasts... they probably haven't cultivated at all. They're just born with formidable strength, Fang Chen thought to himself.

Demons, sea beasts... These creatures with 'beast' in their names were completely different from demons, like Victorious Buddha. The former were naturally powerful but lacked intelligence, while the latter, despite being naturally weak, could develop formidable intelligence once they became cultivators.

The Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts before him were as large as the ship, and with their innate strength, they could be considered the overlords of the sea.

After waiting for about ten breaths to pass, the crowd realized that the Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts showed no signs of retreat. Instead, they began relentlessly attacking the ship, causing the spiritual shield of the ship to dim even further under their onslaught.

"How long can the spiritual energy shield hold, Captain?" asked one of the cultivators anxiously.

"At this rate, the spirit stones will all be consumed in an hour. It won't last any longer than that," muttered the captain, his eyes revealing a hint of despair. "I've been taking this route for decades and have never encountered Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts. Why today...?"

Suddenly, a cultivator pointed at Fang Chen and shouted, "It's him! This is all because of him! His breakthrough must’ve attracted them!"

At this critical moment, they didn't care about Fang Chen's background anymore; all that remained in their hearts was anger.

"Why did you have to break through in the sea? Don't you know how dangerous it could be?" someone angrily questioned Fang Chen.

Fang Chen was about to summon his sword to slaughter the five Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts, but when he heard these accusations, he held his hand.

"A ship is coming!"

"Excellent! If they're willing to help, perhaps there's hope we can avert the crisis today!"

Excitement spread among the cultivators as they noticed a large black ship approaching in the distance.

Soon, the ship reached them, and the Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts surrounding them ceased their attacks, as if waiting for something.

"Friends, we're trapped by Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts. Please lend us a hand. We'll surely repay your kindness!" yelled the captain out quickly.

The crowd looked on with anticipation, waiting for the response from the giant ship. After a few moments, a group of figures appeared at the forefront of the ship, led by a young man in green clothes. He looked at the crowd and smiled. "There's no need to be afraid. These Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts are under my care."

The crowd fell silent.

Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts... Were they really raised by this young man? Some were astonished, others shocked. Being able to raise Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts had to require an incredible level of power. Even ordinary Foundation Building Realm cultivators would find it difficult to kill these sea beasts, much less have the sea beasts serve them.

The captain's face soured slightly. The recent attack by the Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts had already cost him a considerable amount of spirit stones. Hearing the young man's words only added to his discomfort.

After a moment of silence, the captain forced a smile and said, "Well then, it seems this was all just a misunderstanding. We'll continue on our journey."

"Not so fast," the young man said, raising his hand. "I'm looking for two individuals, and I suspect they're on your ship. Hand them over to me, and you can leave."

The crowd exchanged looks, their expressions turning serious. The young man's words confirmed their suspicions that the recent attack by the Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts had been intentional.

"I... I'm not sure who you're looking for," replied the captain cautiously.

The young man smiled. "Who caused the spiritual energy disturbance just now? That's who I'm looking for."

All eyes turned to Fang Chen.

The young man paused, then looked Fang Chen up and down, furrowing his brow slightly. "Was it you who caused the spiritual energy disturbance?" he asked.

"Yes, he just broke through on the ship," someone confirmed.

"Sure enough, it was you who brought trouble upon us!"

Many cultivators looked at Fang Chen with indignation.

"I believe I've never met you before," replied Fang Chen, smiling at the young man.

"It seems I've mistaken you for someone else." The young man nodded slightly. "But... why is it that I can't discern your cultivation level? You're not at the Foundation Building Realm, are you?"

Now that he said that, the crowd realized that Fang Chen's aura was really indistinguishable from that of an ordinary person, making it impossible to gauge his cultivation level.

"I have practiced a concealment art," explained Fang Chen.

"I see." The young man nodded. Then, he suddenly sniffed and turned his gaze to Liu Mu, looking somewhat surprised. "Is that a poison practitioner?"

"He's actually an evil cultivator..."

"I knew there was something off about the stench coming from him...!"

The crowd's gaze toward Fang Chen turned even more peculiar.

Evil cultivators were both hated and feared in the cultivation world. They were known for their ruthless methods and often resorted to killing without hesitation.

Fang Chen nodded calmly. "That's correct."

"I'm quite interested in him. Would you be willing to part with him?" asked the young man, smiling.

Fang Chen pondered for a moment before shaking his head slowly. "He's still of use to me."

The young man didn’t get angry despite getting refused. "Have you heard of the Sea Dragon Sect?" he casually asked.

"The Sea... Sea Dragon Sect..." Many cultivators showed signs of shock. "That's a powerful sect with a Golden Core Realm cultivator presiding over it. It's located on Sea Dragon Island. My goodness, he's actually a cultivator from the Sea Dragon Sect..."

"So you're originally from the Sea Dragon Sect. My apologies, my apologies!" The ship's captain hurriedly bowed with utmost respect, no longer showing any resentment toward Fang Chen for the recent attack by the Jade-Eyed Stormy Beasts.

Fang Chen shook his head. "I haven’t."

The crowd fell silent, their eyes turning toward Fang Chen.

"You haven’t? Well, never mind." The young man smiled and turned away. Before leaving, he dropped a chilling remark.

"Kill them all."

The next moment, the Jade-Eyed Stormy Beast resumed their attack on the ship.

Fear crept into the eyes of the people as they looked at each other.

Some stared at Fang Chen in anger.

"You've offended a cultivator from the Sea Dragon Sect, and now we have to die with you!?"

"Kill him and hand him over to the cultivator from the Sea Dragon Sect. Maybe we can save our lives!"

Some cultivators quietly summoned their treasures, ready to attack Fang Chen at any moment.

Fang Chen sighed softly. "Cultivators really are a lawless bunch; always ready to kill at the slightest provocation."

There was only one way to deal with this situation. He had to fight violence with violence!
