"I see you're done with stabilizing your cultivation."
The Void Dust Empress, Wix Voidfield, appeared in front of him and gave him a good look before nodding.
"That's a good countenance devoid of doubts and extremism. I hope you will continue to remain with that state of mind for the rest of your life since you should not give up hope with the burdens and responsibilities you carry."
"Haha. Was I that obvious…?"
Davis chuckled. He wasn't exactly a fan of wanting to be in grave situations and just wanted to live his life with his wives peacefully. Regardless, he spread his hands, "Where's Saintess Lunaria?"
"Follow me. I've just collected some fruits to brew master a healthy refreshment. I will make some for you too, but remember to share energy with plants and trees when you take something from them."
Wix Voidfield spoke gently before she flew past him.
"Will do…" Davis blinked.
Who knows how many times he just plundered and left?
Nonetheless, he turned around and followed her.Looking at how refined she was in her movements, he thought the difference between her and Stella was just too much, even though they had a similar face and similar proportions, although Stella rightfully looked and sounded much younger.
"Don't you want to see your daughter?" Davis couldn't help but ask.
"I do," Wix Voidfield nodded, her voice turning gentle as she seemed to reminisce about her daughter, whom she hadn't seen for some time.
"but she's under your care right now, isn't she?" She slowed down and flew beside him.
Davis shrugged, "Well, I am not as exactly as powerful as Saintess Lunaria and her disciples. As her mother, aren't you worried that I will fail to meet your expectations and become unable to protect her?"
"I may have had some doubts, but after hearing that you killed over forty Empyreans and Autarchs, I have no doubts. I am more worried that she would offend you with how playful and careless she is."
"…" Davis couldn't help but feel his nose soar high to be praised by his mother-in-law.
"Worry not, mother-in-law. Stella has become much more dependable. She creates mini-realms out of thin air to provide shelter to all of us and keeps us safe even without my input. You have given birth to such a wonderful daughter that I'm proud to her have her as my wife."
Davis sang praises of Stella and continued to do so until he changed the topic.
"Are there any other secrets of the Void Dust Tree Race that you would like me to relay to Stella?"
"Not that I know anything of that she doesn't know." Wix Voidfield shook her head, "Perhaps I will unlock some memories upon entering the equivalent of the Empyrean Stage. Until then, I don't think I have anything left to share with her or teach her."
"Indeed, her skill at spatial manipulation is extremely high. With my help, she will soon surpass Senior Wix if you don't start cultivating seriously. Haha…"
Davis laughed, wanting to make her laugh, but Wix Voidfield abruptly stopped and shot a cold gaze at him.
"…"
Davis felt like he may have said too much. After all, Wix Voidfield sacrificed so much of her time and energy to give birth to Stella.
"Of course, Senior Wix's spatial manipulation ability is also-"
"Anything you give her— you need to share a bit with me. I will consider it dowry."
"…"
Davis blinked as he saw Wix Voidfield voice out her emotions in a firm tone. Once she said it, she looked at him for some time before her ears blushed.
"I mean, she is also one of my fruits, even more precious as she's a fruit personified, so you must return an appropriate amount of energy you took from me. That's fair, right?"
"Very fair…"
Davis pursed his lips, nodding as he agreed with her.
"It's good that you understand. But she is her own person, so a little bit would do."
Wix Voidfield looked away, continuing to move ahead. Davis followed suit.
He narrowed his eyes, feeling like her pace had fastened for some reason. He chalked it up to the fact that they stopped for some time while she had to make Saintess Lunaria some refreshments, so she was in a hurry. However, he secretly smiled at the fact that the mother was just as competitive as the daughter.
Neither wanted to lose to each other that Senior Wix Voidfield went as even far as to ask for what humans would consider dowry, making him inwardly laugh. He wasn't opposed to gifting his mother-in-law who gave him a wonderful woman like Stella anyway.
Nonetheless, they soon made it to Saintess Lunaria's chambers.
Davis wondered just how damn long these ancient ruins were for it to extend up to so long. Perhaps it was five kilometers in length, maybe buried underground. He wasn't sure.
"You go inside. I'll visit soon with refreshments."
Wix Voidfield gestured at him before she left for some other place. Davis was left wondering what he should do as the chamber's door was quite bloody and cryptic, making him feel like he was entering a gory cemetery or something. In his opinion, this definitely wasn't a place a Saintess should be in, but he guessed this was what translated into Kisha Blackheart's image of Saintess Lunaria, a demoness.
"Enter."
Saintess Lunaria's voice echoed, causing Davis to let go of his awkward emotions before he walked straight in after pushing open the bloody gates.
He saw Saintess Lunaria caressing and feeding Shimei as she kept giggling in her fox form, causing him to unwittingly smile as he knew these two were inseparable. She turned to look at him.
"Be seated. I will join shortly, or we can talk while I groom and feed my Shimei."
"That's fine."
Davis went ahead and sat on a couch before he opened his mouth again, "What do you know about the World Master?"
"I know she's my mother."
"…!"
Davis's eyes widened. Saintess Lunaria uttered it so casually that he thought she was just joking around to see his ridiculous expression, but even after she said that she continued to caress and feed Shimei as though she had completely accepted that fact.
"I see."
Davis heaved a breath, "That means she personally talked to you, so you must already know what she entrusted me with."
"Yes, but not exactly."
Saintess Lunaria let go of Shimei before she turned to look at him. Her lips moved, her voice soft and gentle.
"At one point in life, I didn't care anymore who my parents were, but learning about my origin and knowing I was always protected even though I wasn't taken care of pulled some strings in my heart. Now I know why I disappointed Mother, and she never came to meet me."
She bit her lips, wryly smiling behind her veil before she cupped her hands and bowed.
"I don't know what kind of dying wish she made to you, but you have my utmost support in fulfilling whatever matter she entrusted you to do. Please don't hesitate to make use of my powers and knowledge. I have taken a pill known as a Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill of Lower Realm to boost my prowess, so I'm fairly strong, but she also pointed me to another treasure that she hid in the Primeval Universe Ruins that honestly scares me as she said that this strange pill has a tinge of her unrestrained blood essence."
"…"
Davis's expression was blank.
The World Master's blood essence, the blood of a body that carried a universe inside? He could only imagine how potent and ridiculously powerful it would be. However, what kind of pill was that? Was it also a Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill?
However, considering she wouldn't have had time to place such a pill in the Primeval Universe Ruins as it was something she had just recently learned, was it another heaven-shattering pill that was of her own make?
