Saintess Lunaria's disciples led Davis and the others to a Minor Realm.
It was known as the Faint Rain Minor Realm because it was covered in drizzle most of the time in a year. The sky was perpetually dark and gloomy, even in the morning, lacking yang energy in the atmosphere.
Because of the perpetual drizzle, a thick mist blanketed the land most of the time, reducing visibility. This wasn't just an ordinary mist but a mist imbued with disorienting heaven and earth energy, making it so that even cultivators had a difficult time seeing past a few kilometers. In some places, it was even more exaggerated, with Immortal Emperors and Sovereigns not being able to see past two meters.
Because this realm lacked yang energy due to the lack of solar rays, it gave rise to more yin energy, and flora of that type tended to grow abundantly.
Even the landscape was dominated by rolling hills and deep valleys, with murky, reflective lakes scattered throughout. The lakes were serene but held strange suction beneath their surface, making them dangerous to approach unprepared. Streams overflow through the terrain, their waters dark and sluggish, adding to the realm's sense of otherworldly foreboding.
The ever-present moisture fed the lush yet shadowy vegetation, predominantly made up of yin-natured flora, including dark, twisting vines and luminous plants that glow faintly in the gloom. These plants are highly sought after for their medicinal and alchemical properties, as they thrive in environments rich in yin energy.
Hence, this Faint Rain Minor Realm was termed a vast forest land and also a trading hub for flora of yin nature. It was rich as a garden of ingredients, except it was made up of entire forests rather than a building.
Davis walked through a thick blanket of forest along with the others. They made it into the realm fairly easily, even without using pirate cities, since, unlike a Lower Realm's realm-wide barrier that disrupted people from getting in and out easily, the Minor Realm's realm-wide barrier was weaker, allowing anyone above Immortal King Stage to enter from anywhere, sometimes even without being found out.
As Davis walked in this thick forest, he came across dense gnarled trees. These trees were dark gray in color, and they formed a canopy above that appeared like a thick, oppressive ceiling overhead, allowing the dimmest light from the skies to pass through.
The lack of yang energy in the atmosphere made the air quite cold. The air was damp and heavy with the scent of the earth and rot, giving the impression that the forest was alive and watching them alive with the wide eyes of a predator. It was especially the case since it was silent. However, Davis was absolutely relaxed.
He walked with light steps when he came across a beautiful flower that looked like a dark blue rose. Without being aware, he plucked it and stared at it as it reminded him of Natalya, thinking it would look beautiful on her.
"That's an Immortal Emperor Grade Cold Seeping Rose. Does it interest you?" Glacia Frigidveil asked from the side.
The others also stopped, wondering what he was doing.
"No, just reminded me of one of my beauties. Perhaps it would fit with Tanya, too."
Davis smilingly shook his head before he continued walking. The others also went on.
"Oh, you better not mistreat my good disciple." Glacia Frigidveil raised her brows at him.
"Haha. Tanya would love a sword more than a flower. Does her master have any presents to give?"
"Shoo, shoo. I'll give her gifts when she comes to pay respects to me." Glacia Frigidveil waved him off with a giggle before she walked ahead, looking like she wanted to end the conversation.
However, she slowed down her pace and handed him a sealed scroll.
"Give this to her in case we don't have a chance to meet. This contains all my insights up to the Empyrean Grade, allowing her to enter the Empyrean Stage as well as comprehend more about the Frigid Veil Sword Style."
"…"
Davis's eyes widened before he heaved a breath and nodded.
"I will."
"Remember, it's not for you. Don't you dare peek into the sword arts I created..!" Glacia Frigidveil glared at him, her gaze sharp, yet her voice sounded full of warmth.
Davis smiled, "I will."
"What?"
"-not."
"That's better."
Davis saw the Frostcloud Sword Empress nod, looking satisfied, before she walked ahead.
He could only look at her respectfully for trusting him with such a task as she had given her life's work to him without asking for much.
Soon, they came across a pyramid-like structure within the rainforest. It appeared to be an ancient ruin invaded by massive amounts of flora, but looking at the familiar fruits hanging on the entrance and walls like they were traps, Davis knew for a fact that these fruits belonged to Kisha Blackheart even though they were disguised to be in other colors.
It was none other than their hideout.
"Shishi~" Kisha Blackheart moved near the entrance and turned around.
"Welcome to the hideout I created. Here, I believe you can make yourselves at home for quite some time, but don't touch the fruits. They will absorb all your energy and leave you thirsting for energy until you die from suffocation and starvation."
Her fellow disciples smiled at her in response, but rather than a delightful smile, it was more like a suffering smile.
On the other hand, Fenren appeared frozen as he almost touched the fruit hanging on one of the trees near the entrance. His expression was not good, his face covered in sweat as he felt like he should keep his hands close. His keen sense of smell as a wolf had betrayed him here, making him think these fruits were good for his health.
"Ah, that one's fine to eat." Kisha Blackheart pointed at him.
"Oh?"
It instantly boosted Fenren's confidence before the frozen hand moved and grabbed the fruit.
Instantly, the fruit abruptly burst apart downward, and two stingers stabbed into Fenren's hand.
"But not fine to pick." Kisha Blackheart added later, her expression full of schadenfreude.
"…"
Meanwhile, Fenren's hand flushed black. He seemed to be injected with some kind of poison, making him froth. He appeared as though he was going to fall. Renfa Jadelight instantly came to his side and supported him from falling, her expression looking for help.
"Kisha…" Saintess Lunaria face-palmed as she sighed.
That sigh alone made Kisha Blackheart shudder before she hurriedly flew and appeared beside Fenren as she started to cure him of the poison.
'That's one innocently evil Demon Tree…'
Davis decided to stay away from Kisha Blackheart. He didn't have time to be playful as he wanted to leave soon.
"My apologies." Saintess Lunaria said to Renfa Jadelight before she turned to look at Davis.
"You can stabilize your cultivation here before you leave. It shouldn't take long, considering you remained in the Level Nine Immortal King Stage for so long. But before you leave, come see me. We need to talk about the World Master."
"…"
Davis pursed his lips before he nodded, "Will do."
He was then led into the ancient ruins and was assigned a chamber whereupon he sat and cultivated, getting to know more about his improvement to the Immortal Emperor Stage. It was just like when, suddenly, one got stronger or weaker. They needed time to adjust to the new state. From his circulation to reaction time, everything would differ, and he had to return his mastery to the utmost as soon as possible to have maximum efficiency when battling.
Even while using concealment, he felt that he used too much energy than the norm, knowing he must fine-tune the inner workings of his body.
One day later, he walked out of seclusion, fully brimming with energy and confidence.
He thought it was time to leave but remembered to meet Saintess Lunaria before leaving, hoping to mend their relationship. He walked in the hallway, not knowing where she was but knowing where the entrance was, so he went there, hoping to meet someone before he got caught in some trap Kisha Blackheart placed.
'Hopefully, it isn't Kisha Blackheart herself…'
Davis wondered if Fenren was fine. He should be fine considering Saintess Lunaria berated Kisha Blackheart.
Soon, he made it to the entrance and sucked in a breath of cold air, feeling the earth mold his senses. This was a good place to be in, but it wasn't his, and he didn't know about the surroundings, although he heard in the Faint Heart Minor Realm that the human population was less compared to the other realms.
There were more magical beasts and plant lifeforms living here than humans. He could understand why Kisha Blackheart would like to live here.
"Hmm?"
Davis noticed a figure in the distance. It was harder to see as the mist here was extremely dense, enough to limit his vision over two kilometers. Nonetheless, since the figure was becoming more and more prevalent and less blurry, he knew they were coming closer to him.
He couldn't help but smile as he saw who it was.
"Senior Wix…" Davis uttered as he saw her fly towards him with a basket of fruits in her hand.
She appeared to have gone foraging and finally returned.
