Chapter 191: Preparation (4)

Getting out of the leading vehicle and carefully going to the side of the tunnel, Zhang Qin Feng made sure no creatures are slithering around that area. He had a plan in mind but wasn't sure if it would work as smoothly as he thought.

"Good. There's not a single one of these creatures were here." Zhang Qin Feng said. He immediately took a few items out, including a high-powered torchlight left in the penthouse for Satella's safety. He had no idea that this item would have its uses today.

"Boss…" Victor sneaked over to where Zhang Qin Feng has his preparation after witnessing how he moved around without attracting the attention of the creatures.

"Why are you here? Go back to the group and get ready to move at any time." Zhang Qin Feng whispered in reply. But it seems he was too busy in his own preparation and failed to notice that everyone had already got themselves ready for what's coming up next.

"I don't know what you're trying to do here, boss, but I know that you're trying to create a chance for all of us to drive out of this tunnel, correct?" Victor said. He grabbed one of the electric torches from Zhang Qin Feng and attached it nicely to the pillar.

It seems that he could roughly guess what Zhang Qin Feng was trying to do and came up with some multi-purpose tools that could make the process faster.

With Victor's help, his preparation was done much faster than he had thought. Pulling the string that controls the power buttons on the torches to the truck, the three drivers were preparing to charge out of the blockade when they received their order.

"Everyone, get ready." Zhang Qin Feng raised his fist up as it was not wise for them to make a sound right now. The two other drivers responded with a fist raised from the gap of their windows.

**Click!**

Zhang Qin Feng pressed the button to light up all the high-powered torches pointing at the many worm-like creatures. The moment the warmth from the light arrived at their skin, these creatures went crazy.

A few with milder temper curled up into a wheel. In contrast, some turned into a lump of meat patty before firing themselves like a cannonball at the light. The situation changed instantly as the creature's action opened a path for the survivors to leave the tunnel as soon as possible.

"GO-GO-GO!" Zhang Qin Feng was waving his hand to call the others to follow his vehicle. They had no other choice but to point their weapon at those curled up like a wheel beside the broken car, in case it got aggressive.

Luckily, the three trucks successfully leave the tunnel without having to engage in a battle. Everyone started to breathe again after they managed to drive further away from the tunnel. The feeling of holding their breath was nerve-racking.

"They won't be chasing after us, correct?" one of the survivors on Zhang Qin Feng's truck asked. Unlike some of them, this was his first time witnessing such a scene.

Was it not because he's the best one they had in repairing the vehicles, Zhang Qin Feng won't even consider bringing him out to a place like that. Someone like him could only work his best when he was in a comfortable position.

Driving their trucks much faster than before, the sight of the new Wind Base soon came into their view.

The base seems just like a small outpost from the bottom of the hill, but the wonder of this excellent base could only be seen after getting to the top. Having its foundation done before the apocalypse, all Zhang Qin Feng would have to do was improve and work out what was left by the builders.

His return to the base was greatly received by the people in the facility. Everyone was delighted by his return.

Furthermore, more function of the facility was unlocked after leaving this base for two days. From the look of it, Satella and the others did not take their time to rest. Perhaps they felt guilty to have Zhang Qin Feng personally escorting the remaining people from their previous base.

This made Satella and Queenie go out with their respective team to search for the parts taken away by the local survivors in their escape. Their trip outside was hardly profitable, but it helped restore a few facilities back into service.

"Good job on getting some of the facilities back on track." Zhang Qin Feng praised Satella first thing first after getting down from the truck he's in.

No longer having any issue with the food, Zhang Qin Feng allowed everyone to feast with what they had for the next two days. As for himself, he was busy going around with Satella and Tane accompanying him.

Since Shaun was a typical Soldier Clone Program survivor, he would perform much better if he were left with Alex and Queenie. For Zhang Qin Feng, talking to someone like Tane is much better to get an accurate answer for what he asked.

With the printers working 24/7, there's not a second without something for the survivor to do. Everyone had their part of responsibility while the clock is ticking closer to Zhang Qin Feng's time to return to the modern world.

"Feng, how long will you be away this time?" Satella asked. She knew that Zhang Qin Feng will be away for a while after this. But she dared not to ask for more because he was here for close to ten days to make sure they had a new place to call home.

"Might be a week or two. But I'll get the chance to come here often to show my face to the others. Before that, I'll have to make sure that I deliver enough food over here so nobody would need to starve." Zhang Qin Feng replied with his hand on Satella's cheek.

Although it was not long after their last sexual intercourse, this was something nobody would like to wait for it. Unwilling to let him go without satisfying him, Satella went wild and made it another memorable one for Zhang Qin Feng.

Until… He actually wakes up late the next day.
