Days went by, but his body refiner self had yet to wake up.
Despite his helplessness, Wu Yuan chose not to seek his master’s advice after careful consideration.
Firstly, many matters occurring in the Bloodforge Spacetime simply couldn’t be shared with outsiders.
Secondly, even if he could tell his master about his predicament, what help could his master provide? Given his master’s strength, it was highly unlikely that he could solve Wu Yuan’s problem, just as he was unable to save Wu Yuan’s body refiner self years ago. With his body refiner self trapped in the Bloodforge Spacetime, the chances were even lower.
Let’s just wait for now. The Bloodforge Spacetime has stood for countless eons. Yet, I’ve never heard of a single slip up. Wu Yuan muttered to himself.
He forced himself to calm down and wait patiently.
…
In the Bloodforge Spacetime, batch after batch of top-tier geniuses selected their opportunities, and were successively sent back to their respective first-tier divisions of the Bloodforge Devil Hall. From there, they returned to their own second-tier divisions.
Redmoon Division of the Devil Hall, Origin Blood World.
Numerous immortals were gathered here, all looking up at the huge spacetime vortex. Of the many immortals, High Immortal Wu Tian was the most expectant."Where is Wu Yuan?"
"It's been a full day."
"Bai Li has fallen, Shui Heng did not reach the requirement of a hundred thousand Blood Devil Tokens. As for the other surviving participants, they've long returned to the Origin Blood World."
"Wu Yuan is the only one left."
"He is the Golden Core Bloodforge King. Usually, selecting an opportunity only takes an hour or two. I've heard that the Golden Core Bloodforge Marquises from other second-tier divisions have mostly returned."
"Wu Yuan hasn't returned yet?" These immortals were all puzzled.
Based on past experiences, Wu Yuan should have returned by now.
They were all awaiting his arrival, planning to hold a grand celebration for him. After all, it was a rare occasion to have a Golden Core Bloodforge King from their division, and on top of that, he was granted the title directly.
Throughout the past one hundred million years of the Redmoon Devil Hall’s history, he was the only prodigy to achieve this. Meanwhile, the lifespan of High Immortals was only in the hundreds of thousands of years.
However, the final deadline had yet to arrive. Thus, despite their doubts, the immortals of the Redmoon Devil Hall, including High Immortal Wu Tian, did not dare to disturb Astral Lord Yin He.
Unbeknownst to the numerous Earth Immortals and High Immortals of the Redmoon Devil Hall, their nearly eternal leader, Astral Lord Yin He, was currently ensnared in a state of profound shock and unwillingness.
In a spacetime plane far from the Redmoon Immortal Continent.
Here, a grand golden temple stood, surrounded by endless flames that illuminated the world.
"What?"
"Astral Monarch, how can this be?" Previously standing respectfully to the side, Astral Lord Yin He nearly jumped up in his franticness, questioning the Astral Monarch repeatedly.
"What kind of monstrous prodigy is Wu Yuan? How can we hand him over to the Cang Feng Eldritch World so easily?"
"Once he matures, it's practically guaranteed that he'll become a seventh-grade Archimmortal at least, potentially even standing shoulder to shoulder with you, Astral Monarch." Astral Lord Yin He was basically pleading at this point.
"As long as you take him in as a disciple, he will definitely become a great asset for you once he grows up. Even if he can only be a nominal disciple, it's still fine." Astral Lord Yin He continued urgently, "Chen Deng has always wanted to accept him as a disciple, but I’ve been stopping him all this time."
Astral Lord Yin He was naturally anxious. The amount of resources he had invested into Wu Yuan was not small, but it wasn’t too significant to him. What he truly cared about was Wu Yuan himself.
If Wu Yuan was a common peerless genius, Astral Lord Yin He would be too bothered.
Why did the true eternal Astral Lords and Astral Monarchs seldom accept disciples? Because it was meaningless!
Take for example those so-called second-tier Bloodforge Seeds, or a genius like Bai Li who had cleared level eleven of the Golden Core Dark Star.
Even if they didn’t perish midway, their ultimate accomplishments after cultivating for tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years, would just be becoming ordinary High Immortals.
One had to understand that even seemingly ordinary High Immortals were dazzling geniuses in their youth for a time.
Only those with the potential to become formidable High Immortals such as Sword Immortal Dong Yang were treated with importance by the Astral Lords and Astral Monarchs. As for the rest? It wasn’t worth their time. To them, a million years passed in the blink of an eye.
However, for those with the potential to become Archimmortals, like first-tier Bloodforge Seeds, these eternal existences naturally treated them differently, placing great importance on them.
How many Archimmortals had the Redmoon Devil Hall produced over endless years? To Astral Lord Yin He, every additional Archimmortal under his command was an immense asset, capable of playing a crucial role at key moments.
Once they became Astral Lords or Astral Monarchs, they were even more valuable as manpower.
“Yin He, I understand where you are coming from." Seated at the head of the golden temple was a towering figure. He overlooked the scene below, his voice booming, "But, this is a command from the headquarters of the devil hall. It’s a command from the Devil Sovereign himself!"
"None of us can oppose his orders. Wu Yuan must be sent away." The towering figure slowly said, "You need not argue about this anymore."
"The Devil Sovereign personally issued the order?" Astral Lord Yin He was shocked.
The Devil Sovereign! The entire Bloodforge Devil Hall was vast beyond measure, with over four million second-tier divisions, and numerous Archimmortals and Astral Lords in their ranks.
Even so, the Devil Sovereign was an eternal existence presiding over the Bloodforge Devil Hall for billions of years, ensuring its foothold in the Greenridge Macrocosm.
Such a great presence actually took notice of Wu Yuan?
What has Wu Yuan done to compel the Devil Sovereign to issue an edict? Astral Lord Yin He couldn't comprehend it.
Even he, a dignified Astral Lord with immense power and status, had only met the Devil Sovereign once when he first ascended to his position.
"Go back and wait patiently." The towering figure at the end of the golden temple said, "Soon, an Astral Monarch from the eldritch world will arrive to escort him over. I suspect the Eldritch Sovereign and the Devil Sovereign have struck a deal to take Wu Yuan on as a disciple."
"The Eldritch Sovereign wants to take him in as a disciple?" Astral Lord Yin He was shocked.
"You may leave."
"Understood." Astral Lord Yin He dared not argue further. He bowed respectfully and obediently exited the temple.
…
An unknown length of time passed in the Bloodforge Spacetime, as if a hundred years went by in slumber.
Hmm? Wu Yuan's body-refiner self finally woke up groggily, his soul feeling like it was about to explode.
An unprecedented headache wracked his brain. It was extremely painful!
What happened to my body-refiner self? Wasn't I just in the Overlord Hall choosing from the treasures? Wu Yuan was in unbearable pain.
It was as if someone had knocked him unconscious with a heavy hammer, and he had just regained consciousness.
He hadn't experienced this in a long time, at least not since he had embarked on the path of cultivation.
Almost instantly, the consciousness of his two true selves merged back into one. Wu Yuan quickly assessed his physical condition, but he found nothing abnormal after a thorough check.
His soul was just a little weak.
Was I attacked by someone? But I'm in the Bloodforge Spacetime. And I’ve just completed the Overlord Hall’s test. Who would dare attack me? Even an Archimmortal couldn't, right? Wu Yuan shook his head in disbelief, murmuring to himself. Could it be a clash between the black pagoda and that mysterious bone fragment?
And I got caught in the cross-fire?
For some reason, he couldn't quite remember the events leading up to this. All Wu Yuan could clearly recall was being transported by the white-robed woman into the opportunity selection area, along with the process of him going through the Overlord Hall’s test.
It was unsettling.
I wonder if the black pagoda has been exposed. A trace of worry flashed through Wu Yuan's mind. But at least I'm not dead.
"Wu Yuan, you're awake," a gentle voice suddenly rang out.
"Senior." Wu Yuan, regaining a bit of alertness, stood up and bowed slightly to the white-robed woman.
Only then did he have the strength to glance around.
It was the same black metallic plaza. But now, it was completely empty.
"You've been asleep for nearly a month," the white-robed woman softly said, "All the Bloodforge Kings have left after choosing their opportunities."
Wu Yuan gave a slight nod.
Although his body refiner self was unconscious, his qi refiner self was awake all this time, naturally aware of how much time had passed.
"Senior, what happened to me?" Wu Yuan couldn't help but ask, a trace of unease in his heart.
"What? Haven't you noticed?" The woman's expression was hidden, but her voice carried a hint of amusement, "You are very lucky, you have received two Legendary opportunities."
"Two? Legendary opportunities?" Wu Yuan was taken aback. He had no recollection of this at all.
"Inspect yourself carefully," the white-robed woman instructed.
Intrigued, Wu Yuan immediately began examining himself, and quickly found two new items lying quietly in his soul chamber.
There was a luscious little sapling, its roots extending into the soul chamber and drawing from its vital ether. Unbelievably, Wu Yuan hadn't noticed it until now.
Additionally, a silver, triangular crystal prism was gently suspended above a vortex of ether. It bobbed up and down with the currents of the ether.
Those were the two items Wu Yuan had sensed earlier, which were highly compatible with him.
However, upon sensing them, Wu Yuan felt they were both shrouded in mystery, their depths unfathomable.
I didn't get an Overlord opportunity? But getting two Legendary treasures is not bad. Wu Yuan thought, his heart calm.
He still had many questions. But after some thought, Wu Yuan understood.
As a small fry at the Spiritual Body phase, he was hardly worth the Bloodforge Spacetime's attention. If they wanted to kill him, it would be as easy as flipping their palm!
"Wu Yuan, now that you're awake, I'll send you back to the Redmoon Immortal Continent," the white-robed woman said, a hint of a smile in her voice.
A flicker of suspicion crossed Wu Yuan's mind. Was she not going to explain why he had fallen unconscious? And the black pagoda, did she really not notice it?
But if the white-robed woman didn't offer an explanation, Wu Yuan didn’t dare probe too much either. The more questions, the more mistakes. It was better to leave as soon as possible.
"Thank you, Senior," Wu Yuan nodded.
The white-robed woman gave a slight nod, and with a wave of her hand, an invisible force engulfed Wu Yuan, and he vanished from the spot.
Finally, this cursed star has been sent away. The white-robed woman murmured, a hint of fear and confusion in her eyes. What exactly is behind him?
Even the Overlord is reluctant to provoke it.
