As the night was about to fall, black plumes of smoke appeared on the hill visible from the orc camps, not from just one but three different hills.
Noticing the black smoke, within the middle of the camp, one of the orcs growled calling out the other of its kind and with it, all the other orcs including the riders immediately gathered with their weapons and armor ready. The orc seemed to act as the leader, yet apart from its size, it looked just like any other orc. The leader growled and made gestures, a cue for the other orcs to start their formation.
500 more orcs and uruks combines started to divide into 10 war parties. Quickly after two war parties totaled of 100 would gather and each would go check the smokes leaving 4 parties to stay in the camp.
The three groups shouted and ran out of the camp, heading towards the smoke like moths to a flame.
Viktor saw everything from one of the hills while hiding behind a tree with a smile. He could only laugh in his heart at how stupid the monsters are.
So far, everything is going according to the strategy.
"Perfect!"
The tactic was called divide and conquer and smoking out the enemies. The names are enough to explain what the tactic was about. Basically, it was about forcing a massive group to get out from their stronghold and kill them bit by bit while they were distracted.
Viktor actually has zero experience in war, all the ideas he came up with were inspired by his choice of movies and video games that he enjoyed during his carefree life.
Fortunately, the two ex-special forces bodyguards have enough experience to turn the idea into reality.
First, he would attract the attention of the orcs with fire, forcing the orcs to separate from each other with well-timed baits. As expected, the small-minded beasts easily took the bait and followed the flames with weapons were drawn expecting an enemy ready to fight them.
Now that the orc forces has been divided, Viktor decided to depend on the Djinn's sensors to tell him about the numbers and types of orcs.
<100 each, 50 orcs and 50 uruks heading to each smoke>
"What about the orc riders?" Viktor asked
<They are all heading towards the fire on the right>
"Great, then we are going to head there, Djinn."
As soon as Viktor said the words, he hopped back onto the blue warg and ran towards the hordes on the right side. As he entered the plume of smoke, he squinted and looked around for his target. He felt like he was going to tear up, while the metal weapon on his hand started to feel warm from the heat wave around him.
Whichever smoke the orcs would choose, they would find no one on the site as per their plan. As soon as his companions burned the trees, they would all go to their designated places and wait.
What the orc groups would find was only a putrid smell of ash, while embers set the dried leaves and branches around them aflame creating a heavy black smoke that cover their sights.
They looked around the burning forest, looking for any human to fight and unleash their anger. Yet they find nothing short of fallen trees. Finally, a group of them saw one figure dashing close on top of a blue warg, and it started by shooting its crossbows.
ραпdα nᴏνɐ| сom shhh shhhh shhhh!
Viktor managed to hit three of them right in the eyes before he shouted.
"Hey, I'm here! Catch me if you can!"
Viktor said while making threatening gestures with his axe, but he seems to not need to. As if forgetting the other orcs, all 20 riders let out a battle cry, before drawing their weapons and chasing him deep into the forest.
He smirked and shouted as the Djinn ran deeper inside the forest in his warg form. They ran in a zig-zag pattern, further confusing the riders and causing their mount to crash onto trees or run straight into thorny bushes.
"Are you a slowpoke?! How do you expect to chase me like that!"
The wargs became agitated just like their riders, and they started to run faster and faster through the forest.
At this moment, the sun had almost sunk down to the horizon, while the darkness had barely started to cover the woods. 20 orc riders dashed and caught up after Viktor, but their reduced range of sight worked against them, and unfortunately, the first part of the plan has been waiting right in front of them.
"Now!"
It was a signal for Boris and Torri, who was hiding nearby, to act and pull at the hidden ropes, helping the traps to spring up faster.
Swish!
Metal ropes created by Viktor [Metal bend] extended from the trees right in the direction where the 20 orcs riders were heading. Under the cover of darkness of the night, combined with the orcs' sheer speed, the ropes become a deadly trap for them as they were stumbled and thrown a dozen meters to the ground and some others hit the trees.
At least three of the orcs died instantly in the crash as their neck snapped under the fall, while another five were heavily wounded on the ground. Meanwhile, the remaining one-third of the orcs lagging behind were able to stop and dodge the rope.
However right after, from the cover of the bushes, two small balls were thrown, and they spun in the air before launching a few blue lightning sparks in all directions.
Bam!
The remaining few orcs that managed to survive the trap were quickly stunned by the lightning, and right after, Viktor jumped out of the bushes, clad in gold and silver armor from head to toe jump after and beheaded one of the still stunned orcs
Swish! Snap!
Following just behind him was his companion of 7 emerged from behind the bushes.
Now that he wasn't alone, the fight became much less of an ordeal, as Viktor's group attacked, Liza went wild and fired out one magic after another, tearing apart the orc riders with her claws. A few well-timed [Frozen Wall] even froze the wargs, and one strike from Viktor's axe was enough to shatter the ice, cutting the beasts into pieces.
Within moments, the battlefield turned into a massive pool of blood. Right as he was about to sigh in relief, the Djinn warned.
<The war party of 100 orcs is coming. Are you ready?>
Viktor gave a signal for everyone to move, "Lets go!" and they ran a few hundred meters into the dark forest as the hundred of orcs and uruks chasing behind them.
The ground started to rumble as the hundred of orcs gave chase, their weapons drawn and their eyes radiating bloodlust.
After they finally arrive at their second designated spot, Viktor told his companion to be prepared..
As the orcs started coming, a covering made of dried leaves immediately snapped under their weight, revealing a few rows of massive pits filled to the brim with hooked wooden spikes, enough to make a dozen of these orcs to fall to their demise
The trap was a simple one, but it blended under the cover of darkness and made the war party descend into chaos. It was at this time Viktor called for his trusted servant.
"Barry!"
Barry, who had kept himself hidden among the bushes right behind the orc horde, immediately jumped out and cast [Fire Infusion] into his sword, cloaking it in brilliant flames before slashing it in an arc. The already half cut trees he prepared beforehand immediately caught on fire and fell down, raining burned branches and other debris right onto them. It even managed to crush some of the still shocked orcs.
This was the second plan. Right after the orcs were lured into the pitfall traps created by the special forces with the help of Kosta's [Earth Manipulation], Barry would then cause another chaos by dropping the flaming trees behind them and to the closest escape paths, closing them in an impromptu prison and not allowing them to escape.
The orc horde were in chaos thanks to the trap, so now all the companions would jump to attack together. From the right, Boris and Torri would jump in and fight. Torri would snipe the orcs' heads, while Boris would use his daggers to cut apart the orcs who managed to escape. Eva and Jessie provided support from behind and helped to heal the wounded or make sure any stragglers wouldn't reach them.
Kosta and Barry would jump up from behind, and then it was all set. Viktor jumped up to the middle of the orc horde and used his divine skill.
[All Might]
[Strenght increased by (51)]
Swish! Splat!
As the orcs were distracted, it was easy for Viktor to kill or wound most of them with his divine skill. while t the others apart. As they were herding them to die, the whole battle felt less like a battle and more like a slaughter.
