Chapter 51 The Project was Mine

The next day was Monday.

Perhaps because she’d sweated from the vigorous activity the night before, when she woke up this morning, Feng Jia took her temperature and found that her fever had subsided.

Gu Chu returned to her usual lively self. While driving, she passed by a coffee shop.

She stopped the car and went in to buy a few cups of coffee.

“Director Gu, good morning,” Someone greeted her.

The corner of her mouth curved as she replied, “Good morning.”

After entering the Department of Commerce, she casually placed the cups of coffee on the nearest desk and greeted everyone, “I bought these on the way.”

They cheered and each took their favorite coffee. “Thank you, director.”

The secretary was one of them. She had originally planned to go downstairs to buy coffee, but her superior bought it, so she didn’t have to go.

She turned on the computer for Gu Chu very eagerly. “Director, you seem to be in a good mood. Is it because you went out with CEO Feng on the weekend?”

Gu Chu heard this and asked curiously, “How did you know?”

“Your Wechat moments. Didn’t you post a picture of the sunrise? CEO Feng was in the picture.”

Gu Chu: “?”

Was he in the picture?

She quickly took out her phone and saw that there was only half of the back of his head in the picture.

She smiled and asked, “It’s only half of the back of his head. You can tell it’s him?”

“Director, whose back of the head would you take? So it must be CEO Feng,” the secretary said confidently.

Alright, she was right. Even if she did, it would only be the back of Feng Jia’s head.

She sat down and tapped on the table. The secretary immediately put down the documents in her arms.

“I’m indeed in a good mood, but it’s not just because I went out.” Gu Chu slowly flipped through the documents. “It’s also because of other things.”

The secretary immediately chimed in, “Then what else?”

Gu Chu looked up at the clock. It was about 10 o’clock when the office phone rang.

She smiled. “Because of this.”

The secretary went over to take a look. It was a call from the chairman’s office.

She immediately stood up and pretended not to have seen anything.

Gu Chu picked up the call. It was his father’s secretary. “Director Gu, the chairman wants you to come to the office.”

“Okay,” Gu Chu agreed.

Before leaving, she said to the secretary who was standing there in a daze, “The eighth article of the weekly report is wrong. Take it back and revise it.”

The secretary’s heart skipped a beat.

Director Gu looked easygoing on the surface, but in fact, she was a workaholic. She was meticulous in her work.

If she wrote the weekly report wrong, she wouldn’t work for the Gu Corporation anymore.

She picked up the weekly report and flipped through it. She even thought of which company she would go to next.

However, she looked at the eighth article, “Yangxiang Project from Wang Tai Group would be handled by Gu Wan, the Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce.”

Ah?!

Is it something wrong?

Gu Chu went to the chairman’s office and knocked on the door three times before entering. “Dad, is there something you need me for?”

“You’re here.” He pointed at the seat across from him. “Sit.”

Gu Chu sat down.

Mr. Gu liked to brew tea. He brewed a cup of Longjing tea today and placed it in front of Gu Chu. “I bought this recently. Have a taste.”

“Okay. Thanks dad.” Gu Chu took a sip.

After she drank it, he slowly said, “Your sister went hiking with a friend yesterday and accidentally sprained her ankle on the mountain. I’m afraid that she won’t be able to move her feet for a while. She was afraid that she would delay the progress of the Yangxiang Project, so she withdrew from it.”

Gu Chu nodded.

He then said, “I’ve thought about it. You were in charge of this project before, and no one is more suitable than you. I plan to hand this project back to you, is that okay?”

Gu Chu knew that her father would talk to her about this, and that was also why she was in a good mood today.

However, after hearing what he said, Gu Wan did not seem to mention that she was also there, so she asked, “She sprained her ankle? Was it serious?”

“It’s quite serious. She was on a cast. The injury will take at least three months to recover.”

Gu Chu had just drunk a mouthful of tea, and she almost spat it out!

Cast?!

It was just a minor injury, why did she need a cast?

She understood now. Gu Wan did not want to lose face, so she made an excuse to step down.

Thinking of this, Gu Chu laughed. Isn’t she tired?

Isn’t it tiring to act all day long?

However, she wouldn’t see her for a long time!

This feels good!

Gu Chu tried hard to suppress the rising corners of her mouth.
