"I don't have one gold coin! No one has one gold coin! Do you think they just lie on the street to be taken?"

"I am sorry then, but this bow is too precious. I can only give it to you for one gold coin." the merchant sighed and shook his head.

Jake saw this sight and smiled. He was at that stage as well, once upon a time. But the pitiful part was that he was at a similar state when he was in the game for a whole ten years, while Myriad Arrows was only facing it now.

"Then I can't take this bow." Myriad Arrows, a tall man above six feet, but with a slender and athletic build, put down a silver bow that had a dull shine showing that the bow had a few years of use.

Jake shook his head and stepped in.

"You should stop cheating this young man. Look at the bow. One gold? It is not even worth ten silvers. Who would pay one gold for this garbage?" he said.

The merchant looked at Jake and frowned.

"How dare you slander me? This is a rare class bow. There are few of these available on the market right now, and none of them can actually be used because of the level cap." the merchant said.

Meanwhile, Myriad Arrows noticed that this was a player and he was even more surprised. All the players were able to enter this haven of treasure only if they had luck.

The number of merchants who had such excellent stuff was far and few outside, but were crowded in this tight space. Who would want to offend one of these merchants? Weren't they afraid to get kicked out of the forbidden street?

Jake glanced at Myriad Arrows.

"How much do you have for the bow?" he asked swiftly.

For some reason, Myriad Arrows unconsciously said, "Thirty Silvers."

"Fine then. That is the best that you can get for this bow. The fact that you can get anything above silvers is beyond me, but this boy is generous." Jake did not even consult with Myriad Arrows before he started haggling with the merchant.

"Seventy Silvers."

"Thirty. You know how much we have. And no one else is coming in. No one wants this bow. You will have dead merchandise in your hands." Jake smiled.

"You are abominable. Fine. Thirty Silvers." the merchant grit his teeth and agreed.

"And there you have it. You are not in a game. Don't think of this as a game. This is our new life now. Don't back down even a bit." Jake smiled and said.

Myriad Arrows nodded, but he was still in a daze. He quickly paid the merchant and grabbed the silver bow that he had been trying to get for the last one hour!

"You- you can haggle with the merchants here?" Myriad Arrows stammered as he asked.

"Of course, you can. Have you never been to a market in real life before? Have you never haggled in those online marketplaces? This is the same. You can always try for a bargain." Jake looked at Myriad Arrows weirdly.

"Who are you? Why did you step in? I am grateful for your help, but I don't know who you are." Myriad Arrows asked.

"Me? I am Shadow King. Can't you see my avatar name?" Jake pointed up, to where his name was hovering on top of his head, a nomer of his player status.

"I can see that! But why did you help me?"

"There are maybe three people on this street right now? While there are fifty merchants, maybe even more? We players should stick out for each other, should we not? Who knows, maybe we can help each other later?" Jake chuckled.

Myriad Arrows looked at the armor that Jake was donning, and the sword that was on his back. These did not scream like they were top-tier equipment. He was a swordsman or a combat class, but he didn't have the best equipment.

Meanwhile, Myriad Arrows himself was an archer. That much was apparent with his purchase of the bow and his name. He knew that he wanted to be an archer class from the beginning.

"You are an archer. Are you here because of the rumors of the hidden class for archers that might come up? I mean, why else would any player come here if not for the Epic Class? When the capital city is also available." Jake asked.

"The class is very enticing, yes, but I am not sure if I can get it. I am just here because I want to grind a few levels and maybe find a rare class change to become a magical archer. The requirements are that I have to be at level twenty, but I am still at level twelve." Myriad Arrows sighed.

"Level twelve?" Jake's eyes sharply narrowed. "No wonder this freak of nature was such a beast in the future. So he grinded every day for so long!"

Obviously, Jake thought of all this in his head, and not outside.

"Well, if you are being limited by your class, then I can help you there. I may not look like it, but I have played my fair share of VMMORPG games before, and I also need to grind a few levels." Jake said.

"I would love to party with you, but..." Myriad Arrows was hesitant. This was someone he just met.

"Ah well, I guess it isn't my lucky day. Well then, best of luck to you. I do hope that you can get that rare class." Jake smiled and turned around to leave.

Myriad Arrows paused. His head was heating up because of all the thoughts racing in his head.

"Ah, what the hell! Why not? Both of us need to grind anyway, and I still owe you seventy silvers."
