149 Angel
The killing intent in his gaze grew stronger as he gradually adapted to the pressure of his surroundings, once this was achieved Sandro using his own hands tore into his flesh squirming around searching for something, a second letter he removed what seemed to be a button trigger from his rib cage, the device seemed more occult than technological as it was made out of bone, filled with several runes and lines dotting the exterior.
Pushing the fleshy button, the runes on the device lit up an ominous grey glow before rapidly disintegrating turning to dust in his hands as he turned his attention back towards the female figure in front. Sandro’s actions were naturally purposeful, he had realized things were already spiralling out of his control and he had only one other clone in this plane to defeat or kill Mara it was likely this current self would not be able to survive or would be too damaged to be useful, so he started his doomsday plan, one that would ensure permanent scarring damage to the plane that was struggling to be promoted. Judging from the fact that he could no longer feel any gazes staring at this space from the distance his plan could be said to be progressing well.
Taking his mind off other matters he slowly made hand gestures and slowly whispered some incoherent words, these were the starting motions and incantations for a complex spell, the language used seemed to be that of an ancient time and the intonation used in the language bore resemblance to an elegy a song praising the dead, a few seconds later the spell was complete and on the body of the necromancer shone some runes like a tattoo but then quickly disappeared as if all that happened was merely an illusion, if one looked closely they would discover the runes bore a great semblance to the runes that covered the device he had dug out of his body earlier.
Meanwhile, in an undisclosed location at the bottom of the sea, a half-plane laboratory was moving sporadically on the ocean floor, the inside of the laboratory contained various scientists from around the world, they weren’t the best but they were hidden gems purposely hidden and cultivated by various countries, they possessed no profession and were just mortal, all these peculiarities made it easier for them to be controlled and for them to go unnoticed by prying eyes, coupled with their location and the ability of the device holding the half plane to continue its sporadic movement almost no divination or fate ability could capture their existence they were virtually nonexistent.
Disregarding the chaotic situation above caused by the necromancer, the busy scientists were monitoring, recording numerous data being displayed on their screens, tweaking various values and sending encrypted messages towards various other hidden locations. The beneficiaries of this action were currently holding a meeting comprised of various leaders of numerous countries and forces that were aware of the reality of the situation, the reports got to their hands at almost the same time and was displayed for them all to see.
“So the subconscious sea has been materialized.” An elegantly dressed mature woman with snow white hair said as she looked at the projected data and figure in front of her representing various subtle energy fluctuations occurring around the world, she ignored the projected figures about the chaos caused by the necromancer’s actions but instead focused on some subtle almost negligible energy values.
“Hmmm, yes and from the looks of things it’s working well, although there was a problem with the seraph’s consciousness for a moment but she has awakened and recovery is going smoothly.” The figure at the pivot position said as he sent out an image showing a mysterious female figure in a secluded dark environment with numerous cables and wires sticking out of her head and neck, the only light source being the peculiar luminous wings that extended from her vertebrae.
“What about the boy.” A fierce looking man bellowed with an impatient look on his face he didn’t bother to look at the videos or data in front of him, he just wanted to end this chore as soon as possible.
The figure at the pivot position was not bothered by the man’s rudeness and replied softly “No issue yet, but it should be coming soon, at this rate it should be frightened and preparing to...” a notification from the device on his wrist interrupted him, looking at the message it brought he gave a slight smile as he said, “Speak of the devil.”
.....
Cherry was currently overwhelmed she had been monitoring the necromancer and the temple city he had gone into, but only a few minutes later the whole city was destroyed, a gap into the rumored inner plane was opened and a suspicious female went inside followed by the death of the head of the psionic knights one of the most powerful individuals alive today, even her father the guardian of the federation was not sure he could easily defeat him without injury, following the death of the knight a subtle change seemed to have appeared in the plane that affected her making her lose consciousness for some seconds, when she woke before she could try to figure out what was wrong she was bombarded with numerous calls of distress as unnamed monsters were attacking all over the world and they seemed to be multiplying at fast speeds, these monsters were currently difficult to kill and anyone who was touched by them underwent the same mutation the only good thing was that black mud was not included into the mix.
Cherry was using her heightened senses and enormous computational power granted by her present angel body to calculate the parameters of the epidemic, from her perspective it seemed to be a force from the soul, the monsters souls which were previously human were affected by a force that destabilized the surface structure of the soul and this change was somehow reflected in the body, the mutations were random but all affected by it lost their sanity and this phenomenon was transmitted by the attacks of the monsters any individual hit by them would be affected by the same force, professionals with a high soul strength could be immune to these effects for a short time as long they weren’t attacked too often but it was absolutely disastrous for the professionals below elite and normal humans, apart from trying to find a cure for this phenomenon she was also communicating with different organizations and armies pinpointing the areas where help was needed, opening the boom channel to teleport powerhouses to the needed areas and evacuating the environment to try and contain the spread of the mutation, it hadn’t been up to 5 minutes since the death of the knight and she was already straining her mind with the complex calculations and orders she presided over normally use of the body like this would be life threating but there seemed to be an extra source of energy flowing through the body strengthening her soul easing her fatigue and increasing her fit with the peculiar angel body she was currently using, what made the body peculiar was that unlike angels of legend this one seemed to walk the path of technology a large part of the federation’s technological advantage was created just by studying the surface of the angels body. A few seconds later as the energy washed away her fatigue and increased her fit gaining access to more computing power hidden in the body an alarm went off signifying that a huge unidentified and dangerous power source had appeared in a secret base not far from her real body.
