Chapter 660 The Bloodshed.
''?!'' Ano's body suddenly turned cold, and he quickly retreated a dozen meters. Once he was far enough from Gabriel, he turned around and was shocked to see the demon army dead on the ground.
''Hah.'' Gabriel turned towards the tall walls. ''Insane.''
The army of humanity cheered loudly, and they all felt like they had won the first battle!
Similar cheers were heard in almost every White Paradise building. Everyone felt like winning the war wasn't impossible!
''Hmm.'' Ano turned back to the army and snorted. ''Look at them. They managed to kill the lowest group of demons in their army and already think they have won. It's my duty to shed some light on the truth!''
He stepped on the ground and left behind a group of afterimages as he stepped through the battlefield with insane speed. He appeared in front of the shocked Gabriel and drove his sword forward.
Gabriel anxiously placed the metal wings on the block, but he soon noticed that the sword strike never came. Instead, Ano leaped over him and appeared on top of humanity's army.
''Flower's Destruction!'' He shouted and grabbed the sword with both hands before spinning around like a raging tornado. He appeared in the midst of the army, and rose-shaped flowers flew out of the blade. They looked transparent. However, whoever touched them died immediately!
The flowers moved across the battlefield like a demonic plague and killed dozens of soldiers with each second!
''No!'' Gabriel shouted and jumped towards Ano. He pushed his rapier forward, stabbing repeatedly. He wanted to stop whatever Ano was doing!
Ano simply parried the rapier and hacked his sword down. It was dodged by Gabriel, and he immediately returned to stabbing. They fought while the flowers caused havoc.
Gabriel couldn't stop Ano from killing everyone on the battlefield!
Everyone watching TV was despairing. Humanity's first army was also dying!
''Shit!'' Aether smashed his hands on the table and sighed heavily. There was nothing they could do to stop this. He expected Ano to retreat and regroup. However, he was crazy and wanted to do everything by himself.
Gaia clasped her hands together and looked pained as she felt so many life signals disappear.
On the battlefield, Gabriel was powerless to stop Ano. The corpses were gathering beneath his feet and he could feel screams of help and mercy. However, there was nothing he could do.
The architect student, who managed to injure the dragon-scaled demon, was also hit by the flowers and screamed before dying. The Inhumans and New-Gen Humans shouted the names of their wives, daughters, sons, and family members before perishing.
Then, a flash of golden light appeared in the sky. It was like the sun appeared in the midst of darkness. The heat was unbearable and most of them started to cry in pain. However, those flowers vanished under the immense heat, and once they were gone, the heat disappeared as well.
''?'' Ano frowned and smashed his foot on Gabriel's torso. The single kick caused the Archangel to fall down to his knees.
Ano then raised his sword and hacked it down. When it was about to separate Gabriel's head cleanly off, a sword appeared in the path and completely parried Ano's crescent-shaped sword away.
''...'' Ano looked at the golden-haired man without emotion. He quickly returned with another slash, however the golden sword moved with perfect accuracy and again parried his sword away.
Apollo danced across the corpses and quickly pushed Ano step by step backward. However, soon he came to a stop, causing Ano to frown.
Apollo lowered his sword and made a lengthy cut on the ground. Soon, there was a clear hundred-meter mark on the ground.
''No demon shall come any closer.'' He said in his warm tone.
Ano looked at the mark with indifference. He was about to make his move, but then Lucifer's voice echoed in his mind. He slowly sheathed the weapon, turned around, and started walking away.
That shocked everyone watching.
Apollo sighed and looked at the corpses strewn across the battlefield. It was a heart-wrenching sight, but this was the cruel truth of war.
He commanded lesser angels to come and clean up the battlefield before the next battle would start. He led Gabriel into the White Paradise. There were still many battles left.
In the first battle, there wasn't any victor. The demon army died, but so did humanity's. There were less than a hundred survivors, which was almost nothing when there were a few thousand at first. It was a bloodbath.
The atmosphere was tense in White Paradise and many were trembling in fear and anxiety.
Luna and Alice watched the TV silently. Now, they were slightly fearful and didn't really want to stay there.
Luna caressed her belly and said, ''Why is this happening?''
Alice silently hugged her legs and buried her face in her arms. ''I am not too sure, but I am scared.''
The same scene was seen in each building. Everyone was feeling afraid and didn't want to be here. They felt slightly unlucky and felt resentful towards Arthur, who sent them here to die. However, they knew better than anyone what was in line. The netizens might still be oblivious, but they know the demons wouldn't let them just live.
They were creatures of darkness. They kill without blinking, destroy lives without remorse and liked torturing innocent souls.
While most of them shuddered in fear, there was a strange scene happening in a two-bedroom building. A tired-looking man was donning an armor. It was steel armor with moon insignia, used by Inhumans. However, this man was obviously not Inhuman. Instead, he was player!
This man wasn't afraid of the demons, but was afraid of death. However, he wore the armor with a smile on his tired face.
After strapping the armor and putting the sheathed crimson axe on his back, he looked like he was ready to fight an army all by himself.
''This shall do.'' He said and looked at himself in the mirror. The reflection showed a fatigued face and shiny armor.
Amour, the undefeated player, had entered the stage!
