Chapter 201 - Showdown.
'Where is he…' Isaac thought to himself and still thought that his opponent was a male.
He has rarely seen a female who is in shooter class, which made him think automatically that his opponent was a male.
He had waited for half an hour already, and his opponent was still nowhere to be seen.
Not even a sound.
Isaac knows that the twigs in front of the entrance were useless; his opponent must have already gotten rid of them, so they won't alert him of his presence.
In the past half an hour, Isaac had a lot of time to think.
He now understood the skill level of his opponent, and it was at a level that he can't comprehend.
'He is using a fear technique…' Isaac narrowed his eyes and understood what his opponent was trying to do.
He will be trying to make him fearful, which will cause him to lose his composure and concentration.
With enough fear, he wouldn't be able to function properly and maybe will even run out of the cave in a fear-filled state.
It was terrifying to fight an enemy that you can't see, and fear instantly makes them to make a stupid decision, which was to find the person who caused your fear, no matter the cost.
Some would even be willing to die, so they won't have to feel such fear, and Isaac was sure that this was what his opponent was trying to do.
Trying to make him feel enough fear so he will give up.
But, unfortunately for his opponent, Isaac was not someone who would cower in fear. Instead, he will stay calm and concentrated.
He has thought about everything, even about the possibilities of his opponent's skills.
The butterfly was already something that made him shocked. He mostly thought that the skills would be related to shooting like his were, but he was proven wrong.
'I wonder what skills other has… Using a butterfly as surveillance is already insane… I wonder, are their skills even crazier than that...' Isaac wanted to go out and find out what other crazy abilities Marksmen players has.
But, spending almost the whole tournament in the cave, stuck, without being able to leave, was not what he expected from the tournament when he was chosen.
Also, seeing his opponent's skill made him certain that chances of survival were diminishing with each passing second, but he didn't want to give up so early.
He wanted to fight with all he's got.
He wanted a proper fight and not get killed in some random cave by someone who doesn't want to fight fairly.
'Should I leave… It is risky… Very risky…' Isaac lowered his musket rifle and walked to the corner of the cave, which allowed him to have as much cover as possible.
The only way for his opponent to see him was as if the person would completely enter the part of the cave where he was, but Isaac, with his excellent eyesight, could see his opponent by a mile away.
He has always thought that his eyesight was not something that Marksman should possess because it was far stronger than it should be.
Marksmen are known for worst class because their Special Stat Precision only allows them to have a good aim and nothing else.
But, Isaac has found out that it was not entirely true.
No one in the forums told about eyesight becoming better, but he remembered Diana also describing Marksmen.
'All Marksmen had good eyesight…' Isaac remembered Diana saying about Marksmen in a beta testing phase.
Now, his eyesight allowed him to see fairly well in the dark cover, not as good as in the daytime, but enough so he could see ahead of him.
'I have to leave the cave… I can't stay here any longer, or I will die.' Isaac, with frustration, thought.
'Maybe I can… Lure him inside…' Isaac thought, soon he had another plan inside his mind.
He moved the musket rifle behind him and strapped it on his back, but accidentally, the thin blade of the cave touched the ceiling.
*Scratch*
A loud scratching sound came as the thin blade made a long scratching mark on the ceiling, but that was not what surprised Isaac. Instead, the ceiling seemed to be crumbling apart!
Isaac widened his eyes in shock and touched the ceiling with his own hand. He managed to take a piece from the ceiling, and it crumbled once he clenched his fist.
''This is not rock… It's dirt!'' He widened in shock and felt his heartbeat rising faster than ever before.
'Maybe… I can make another way out!' Isaac screamed internally and started taking tiny pieces of the ceiling, dropping them gently on the ground, so it won't make a loud noise for his opponent to hear.
Soon, in the ceiling, a pathway was starting to form.
*Bam…*
Soon, the ceiling started collapsing, and larger but also tinier pieces of dirt started dropping down.
Also, snow started pouring inside the cave, but Isaac saw the cave having more light than previously!
He appeared on top of the snow pile and looked towards the ceiling, which had a hole large enough to fit a person.
But, he didn't see a ceiling, or only the hole anymore.
He saw the starry sky and the moon.
A smile appeared on his face.
He quickly picked up his plastic bag, Flintlock Pistol, and the leather pouch and strapped them around his waist.
After making sure that they were tied correctly, he put his two hands on the tiny handhold in the hole's wall, which could be used to pull himself up, but he didn't know how much weight it could hold.
Isaac at first tried to pull his whole body up, but it didn't work the way he wanted, and he had to use his aerobic skills.
As he was pulling himself up, he moved both of his legs and moved them inside the hole, and found a foothold for them.
His position looked awkward, with his hands below his legs, but it helped him to start his climbing.
He managed to find another handhold, which he used to correct his previously awkward position.
Just like that, he was slowly making his way up the hole.
'It's time to fight fairly…' Isaac thought with chilly look as he planned to have a proper showdown with his opponent, and he didn't plan to lose!
