Chapter 190 – SOMETHING IMPORTANT
Lucas stepped hastily into a five-star restaurant in the center of the
city. His gaze is straight ahead. He did not waver in the slightest to glance left and right, although the impression of charisma that radiated from him was enough to attract the attention of other visitors.
His firm jaw showed that he still harbored anger because of his mother's actions. Until now he had decided to meet someone, just to make sure the photos weren't true.
Lucas entered a private room that had been reserved a few minutes ago. Keenan and Filia were seen sitting there waiting for him.
Yes, a few minutes ago, Lucas contacted Filia by phone, asking the woman to come with Keenan to the restaurant.
Filia and Keenan seemed to widen a friendly smile when they found Lucas who had just appeared in front of them. However, their expressions immediately changed when they saw a wry expression appearing on Lucas' face.
"Tell me that's not true!"
Just as Filia and Keenan were about to say hello, Lucas suddenly took out a brown envelope from the inner tuxedo pocket, then threw it on the table, right in front of Keenan. Even when Lucas was still standing.
"What do you mean?" Keenan was dumbfounded looking at Keenan who suddenly behaved very unfriendly, then he looked at the envelope in surprise.
"Sir, what happened?" said Filia who was no less surprised at Lucas's attitude this time.
Just a moment. Keenan looked at Lucas again, not yet daring to take the envelope.
"Open!" Lucas asked firmly.
He believed that the photo couldn't be real, but he had to confirm it with Keenan in person.
Without thinking, Keenan immediately grabbed the envelope in front of him. Opening the thing by hand was a bit rushed, as if he was impatient to find out what was inside.
Meanwhile, Lucad and Filia just watched every move Keenan made.
His eyes suddenly widened as he managed to open the envelope, then looked at the first sheet of photograph in his hand. Still curious about other photos, he opened one by one the photos that were already in his hands. As a result, he was increasingly wide-eyed to see all the photos.
Keenan immediately focused his gaze on Lucas with a look of wonder, worry, and fear that came at the same time.
"Lucas, I-I never did this with Ellena, how could you possibly have these kind of photos?" said Keenan looking nervous and afraid if Lucas thought that the photos were real.
"Is what you said true?" Lucas asked while crossing his arms in front of his chest and looking serious at Keenan.
"How could I lie! I haven't even touched Ellena one bit!" Keenan denied that he clearly did not accept the indirect accusation.
Yes, with these photos, it's the same as he is in big trouble. For him the photos were just a slander for him. Yes, of course, because he never did that with Ellena.
"What photo do you mean, Keenan?" asked Filia who looked curious and had been watching Keenan for a long time.
Keenan glanced at Filia for a moment, then showed one of the photos that managed to make Filia gasp and cover her mouth with wide eyes.
"Keenan—"
"Filia, it's not what you think. I never did that with Ellena!" concluded Keenan full of affirmation. He was just trying to clarify so that there would be no misunderstanding with his future wife.
"Th-then what is it?" asked Filia nervously and still trying to convince herself, brushing off all the images of the photo that had just appeared before her eyes.
"I don't know, Filia. I assure you, Ellena and I never did that!"
"As expected. You and Ellena couldn't have done that!" Lucas exclaimed, lifting the corner of his lips. At least he was happy that the photo wasn't real.
"Ellena is a good woman. She couldn't have done that with a man who wasn't her husband. I can confirm that. If you don't believe me, you can check the authenticity of the photos. If the photos are true, you can do anything to me. Even if you want to kill me, I'm ready!" Keenan insisted trying to convince Lucas.
"Okay, I believe in you, Keenan. I also believe that my wife would never want to do something so despicable. It's just that I need to ask you first, just to make sure. Now I'm relieved to know the truth." Lucas replied, slightly forcing a smile. , even though he was actually still reluctant to do that.
"Where did you get these photos from?" Keenan looked at Lucas probingly, you put the photos back in the envelope. Instantly his hand reached toward Lucas, handing the envelope.
Of course Lucas immediately grabbed the envelope and put it back in his tuxedo pocket. He then landed his body on one of the empty chairs, intending to accompany Keenan and Filia to dinner.
He thought it would be very rude to just summon Keenan and Filia to that place, but not accompany them to dinner.
"I just got the photo from my mom." Lucas explained after he sat down between Keena and Filia.
"It turns out that the photo was the cause of Ellena's departure from the house," added Lucas again without hesitation, because he was aware that Keenan and Filia already knew about his wife's departure from home.
"What do you mean, Lucas? I don't understand?" Keenan again looked at Lucas in surprise. How could Ellena leave Lucas' house because of those photos? Ellena couldn't possibly admit that the photo was real, could she?
"My mom kicked out Ellena because she thought the photos were real."
"What? Ellena got kicked out?" Keenan was wide-eyed. "How could you let Ellena be kicked out by your own mother, Lucas? I told you, take good care of Ellena!" hlHe said with a disappointed expression.
Even though Keenan is no longer Ellena's lover, he still seems to really care about Ellena.
It suddenly made Filia feel a little jealous, but it was impossible to reveal it to Keenan. He still knew enough to force Keenan's feelings, which in fact still had half of it left for Ellena.
"You forgot that I was in a coma when Ellena left?" Lucas replied who of course didn't accept being blamed like that, when he himself didn't know anything about Ellena's departure from the house.
"You shouldn't have let Ellena be in a toxic environment, so that Ellena isn't considered that low by big people like you!" said Keenan with a sharp gaze.
"From the start you knew how Ellena was. She comes from a simple family. If people out there knew, they would definitely think that your marriage was just a public lie. Not to mention your ex-boyfriend. I'm sure he's been after Ellena since and find out who Ellena really is. You should have been careful from the start, Lucas!" continued Keenan at length.
Lucas was silent for a moment, then massaged his forehead slowly. Feeling a little dizzy with the problem he is currently facing.
"Yeah, maybe you're right. I should have done a strict escort for Ellena from the start. I was really stupid. I'm sorry, Keenan, for not being able to take care of Ellena properly," Lucas replied with a regretful expression. Only this time did he lower his pride in front of Keenan by admitting his own mistakes.
"I promise I'll find Ellena soon and won't let anyone hurt her again. Even I won't let the person who slandered Ellena, can breathe freely!" Lucas said as he stared blankly in any direction, suddenly his hands that were under the table clenched tightly again, showing a suppressed emotion.
"I hope Ellena is found soon. I'm really worried about her. How is she now?" said Filia with teary eyes.
Filia and Keenan had repeatedly tried to find Ellena's whereabouts. However, nothing. They found no sign of Ellena's whereabouts in some of the places she searched for. Not infrequently Filia also ventured to contact Lucas, just to ask about Ellena. However, he was again disappointed when Lucas still didn't know where Ellena was at this time.
"Yeah, I hope so." Lucas replied. "Oh yeah, what do you want to order? Looks like we've been talking for too long to forget dinner." He asked, although he himself felt lazy to start dinner activities.
In fact, no matter what he was doing right now, his mind was always on Ellena. Let alone eating or doing other activities, even breathing seemed meaningless to him when Ellena was no longer by his side.
Before Keenan and Filia could respond, Lucas' cell phone suddenly rang.
"You go ahead, Guys. I'll pick up the phone first." Lucas said to Keenan and Filia, then he reached into his trouser pocket, took a flat object from there.
Lucas stared at the screen for a moment. Adley's contact name appears on the screen of his cellphone. He then raised an eyebrow, before deciding to slide the green icon, indicating he had accepted the call.
"Hello, what are you calling me for?" Lucas asked to the point.
"Lucas, where are you now?" asked Adley on the other end with great enthusiasm.
"I'm out on an important business." Lucas replied.
"Can you come to my apartment now?" asked Adley who didn't know what the business was.
"Didn't you hear what I said? I had important business to attend to!"
"This is more important than anything, Lucas!" Adley said he didn't want to lose.
Lucas was stunned for a moment when he heard Adley's statement. He really didn't understand what his best friend meant.
"What do you mean? What important thing do you want to tell me? Can you talk about it now?"
"No, Lucas! You have to see something important and you need to know!"
"But-"
"It's about Ellena!" concluded Adley who managed to make Lucas widen, while Keenan and Filia had only been watching him all this time.
"What?" Lucas tried to make sure.
"Yeah, it's about Ellena." Adley whispered, trying to be reassuring.
"Okay, I'll be right there." Lucas said just before the phone hung up.
"Keenan, Filia, looks like I have to go now. You just continue eating dinner. Please eat as much as you want." Lucas said goodbye.
"You're in such a hurry, Lucas?" asked Keenan surprised.
"I have to meet my best friend, we have something important to talk about.." Lucas replied.
