"Why should Mr. Adley be Mr Richard's client?" Ellena grumbled without diverting her attention in the slightest.
Ellena didn't know what to do anymore. Once again she was faced with a situation where she had to make a choice. Yes, it's true that life is a choice, there will always be two or more things that cause people to be in a situation that makes them a dilemma. That's what Ellena is currently facing.
It's okay and there's nothing wrong with something natural. Fate forced her to make a choice. However, why does it have to be so complicated? Why did she have to be hit so hard?
After she was given the choice between leaving Lucas or not, staying with Richard's company or leaving, and now she is also faced with a situation that also makes it difficult to decide. Did she continue to walk toward Richard and Adley or leave before Adley saw her there?
Ah, all of that frustrated her even more. Tired. Even the breath was tight in the face of the complexity that managed to attack her without pause. Why is life so difficult? Does everyone experience the same thing as Ellena? Who knows.
'What should I do now? Mr. Richard would be furious if I didn't come back, but I didn't want to see Mr. Adley either. That means I'm tantamount to challenging Mrs. Veronica to war.'Ellena muttered to herself.
Yes, she knew very well what Veronica would do to her, if she dared to appear in front of Lucas. Her meeting with Adley, of course, will take her to a crocodile pit ready to hit her without mercy.
'Why am I so stupid. How come I just found out that the company in question is Lucas's company? Stupid, stupid, stupid. I should have asked Mr. Richard first, the name of the company and the head of the company who will be meeting with us. I thought, Miss Livia who called me this morning, wasn't the woman who worked at Lucas' company. Ah, she's Mr Adley's secretary." Ellena kept cursing herself.
She couldn't believe that she had received a call from Livia, a woman she knew very well. Yes, how not? She knew very well the woman's position in her husband's company. Adley's secretary who the man rarely asked to go out, even though it was work. It seemed so nice to have a boss like Adley who never put a damper on his secretary.
'If I had known it would be like this, I probably wouldn't have attended the meeting with Mr. Adley. Whatever the reason, I'll definitely refuse." Ellena muttered again.
"But why did Mr. Adley see Mr. Richard instead of Lucas? Does that mean Lucas is still not fully recovered? Ah, Lucas ...." Ellena sighed as she recalled her husband's figure.
If only Lucas had come. Perhaps a smile would appear on Ellena's face. Even though she can only stare at her husband from a distance, at least it can reduce the longing in her heart.
"Oh my God, please give me a clue, what should I do now," whispered Ellena without taking her eyes off the place that had been the object of her vision.
"What about Mr. Richard if I were to suddenly leave here? Ah, he will definitely think of me as an irresponsible worker. I am his secretary and should be accompanying Mr. Richard at this time, but what about Mr. Adley? Should I insist myself to meet him?"
Ellena repeatedly asked herself. However, never got an answer. Immediately, the phone vibrated in her bag, screaming for attention. She immediately glanced at the bag slung over her left arm. Reaching into the bag, she pulled out a flat object that managed to make her flinch.
wide-eyed. Ellena's eyes widened when she saw a WhatsApp message notification from Richard.
"What should I do now? Mr. Richard must be waiting for me. Ah, dammit!" Ellena grumbled more and more cursing herself.
Panic. Ellena still didn't dare to read the message. One hand seemed to be holding her head, a reflex movement as a sign that she was frustrated and needed the right solution. Meanwhile, her gaze was still focused on the phone screen in her hand. Instantly she glanced back at the table where Richard and Adley were.
In such a state of panic, how could Ellena be able to think clearly just to find the most appropriate solution. She wanted so badly to escape and get away from that place. However, what power. She couldn't do much. She shouldn't have followed the boss's request this morning. Ah, but already.
'Oh my God ... why is the world so small? Isn't there another businessman who could be Mr Richard's client?' Ellena thought again.
Before Ellena could end her daydream, suddenly the phone in her hand vibrated again and managed to make her turn around. Now one of his hands looks tossed at the waist.
"Ah, why did Mr. Richard even call me?" said Ellena while looking seriously at the phone screen. However, she had no intention of receiving a call from Richard, until finally the vibrating phone ended by itself.
After repeatedly racking her thoughts, Ellena finally decided to read and reply to Richard's message.
Mr Richard :
'Patricia, what took so long? Where are you? Mr. Adley and his secretary have arrived.'
Ellena :
'I'm still in the toilet, Sir. Just wait a little while I'll be right back.'
Mr Richard :
'Hurry back! I feel bad if they have to wait that long.'
Elena :
Yes, Sir. I'll be there soon. You're so talkative!'
Ellena put her phone back in her bag. She took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly. Just want to neutralize feelings of nervousness and fear.
Deciding to meet them in person was not an easy thing for her. However, her job might be at stake if she doesn't follow her boss, while she desperately needs the job. Not to mention the work contract with Richard is still long. It was impossible for her to just leave the job, without completing the employment contract first.
Regarding Adley and Livia, maybe she'll take care of it after the meeting is over. Hoping they would understand her explanation later and wouldn't tell Lucas about her whereabouts in this city.
Having managed to neutralize a bit of nervousness and fear, she immediately prepared to approach Richard, Adley, and Livia. However, before that she took another breath, just before she stepped her feet slowly and slightly trembled.
Ellena only took two steps, suddenly a strong tug from someone's hand made Ellena flinch a little, even groaned when she felt pain in her wrist due to the strong grip of a sturdy hand that Ellena didn't know who it belonged to.
Ellena swiftly turned around and was immediately wide-eyed when she found the figure.
