"Turn over." Rui Fei smiled sheepishly as he quickly did as told. With his back facing Ji Yao, he waited in anticipation. With his thumb pressed on his lips, he patiently waited for Ji Yao's hand to rub his tummy. If this was what life was all about then he was glad to be alive.
Soon enough Ji Yao's fingers slowly slid on his side in a gentle caress stopping on his tummy. Ji Yao who had been questioning why he indulged Rui Fei so much gently rubbed his tummy with great care. It is safe to say the both of them were going to be henpecked husbands.
The cabin fell into silence as Ji Yao slowly drifted off to sleep rubbing Rui Fei's tummy but Rui Fei was a whole different story. His eyes were as wide as lightbulbs enjoying this wonderful feeling. It felt so good that he became a tad bit willful. His tummy hurt less but he wanted some skinship to satisfy his own selfish needs.
So he voiced his wants disguised as needs. "Yao-ge, can you slip your hands inside? I need the warmth from your hands." The request seemed reasonable enough but Ji Yao knew who he was dealing with.
"Would you rather sleep on the day bed?" replied Ji Yao as he paused his hand movements.
Rui Fei, '....'
Nope, he didn't want to sleep on the day bed so he kept his mouth shut and accepted what he was given. As the saying goes "Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you," - Lao Tzu.
A few kilometres from Red Bane on another ship battling against the sea, a pair were having a heart to heart conversation. Huishe Yue had left as soon as the argument of the concord got heated and headed to Lan Wu's ship. He wanted to speak to Captin Lan but the man seemed to be deliberately hiding from him.
It took him camping outside his cabin to actually get a hold of him. And when he did Lan Wu got dragged into a conversation he didn't want to go through today. He had waited for Huishe Yue outside the captain's cabin on Red Bane for a very long time but when he was called in to discuss the whole issue with the shipwreck graveyard he thought Huishe Yue wouldn't wait for him.
Who would have thought when he stepped back on his ship Huishe Yue would be standing outside his cabin seeming a little pitiable. Lan Wu walked over to him as he asked, "Why didn't you get inside?"
Huishe Yue who didn't have the key to the cabin replied, "I don't have the key to your cabin," while looking at the floor seeming a little upset.
Lan Wu walked past him as he took out the key to open the door of his cabin. "I will get you keys," he said as he pushed the door open with a loud creaking sound.
He placed the keys on his table before loosening his wrist braces. As he loosened the lace of the wrist braces he asked, "Do you want some dumplings?" He was just randomly asking this because he wanted to run away from the million dollar question.
He knew Huishe Yue was going to ask him why he went to Qilin Kai to ask about his wife so he deliberately delayed his return to the ship. But who would have thought Huishe Yue wouldn't be asleep in the other cabin but chose to wait outside for him?
Having not received a reply from Huishe Yue he turned around only to find Huishe Yue standing behind him with a solemn look on his face.
Lan Wu asked, "Wha-what's wrong?" as he moved back slightly till his back hit the table. Because it was very low, Lan Wu found himself tripping over it but before he could touch the ground his arm was caught by the elbow preventing him from falling completely.
The grip was so powerful that he felt like his arm was going to break. Huishe Yue was so close to his face wearing an expression so ugly you would think Lan Wu would be frightened but he wasn't. In fact, he was hypnotised by those fierce eyes that he felt like prostrating at Huishe Yue's feet and obeying his commands.
Huishe Yue was completely oblivious to this as he questioned him, "Why did you have to go to him, huh? Why didn't you ask me instead of going to him? If you wanted to know anything you could have asked me... why didn't you ask me?"
As he asked this he pulled Lan Wu even closer but he didn't get any response from him. Feeling a little frustrated he said, "Wu-er, what do you want to know, huh? Ask me and I will tell you. Just don't go to him, okay? He is a Qilin, they are liars, deceitful and manipulative creatures that can lure you in their trap and before you know it..... they would have ruined everything.... trust me."
Having completely forgotten that his future in-law was half Qilin, he dragged the Qilin clan through the mud in an attempt to dissuade Lan Wu from visiting Qilin Kai anymore. That sly fox had already placed his dirty hands on Wei Wei and caused his sister's death, now he was coming after his lackey. How could he let that happen?
"Do you hear me?" he mumbled that question as he loosened his grip on Lan Wu's arm. His self esteem had taken a huge hit when he found his wife had a passionate affair with a Qilin and if he was to lose his lackey too then there had to be something wrong with him.
"So handsome," muttered Lan Wu who in all truth was partially listening to Huishe Yue.
Huishe Yue, "Huh?"
Hearing this inquisition Lan Wu's eyes widened before blinking his eyes at a speed considered abnormal with beads of cold sweat on his forehead. "I mean I, I should, should have asked you but yo-you...... were dismissive when I asked," he said with his voice trailing off.
