Chapter 151 Facing The Past [Part 2]
Villain Ch 151. Facing The Past [Part 2]
Allen's heart pounded in his chest as he stood up from his seat, his eyes fixed on the girl standing before him. It was as if time had slowed down.
The girl before him had long, flowing hazelnut hair that cascaded down her back in gentle waves. It shimmered under the soft lighting of the restaurant, adding an ethereal quality to her appearance. Her hair framed a face that exuded sweetness and cuteness in equal measure. Her features were delicate, with smooth, porcelain-like skin that seemed to glow with a natural radiance.
Her eyes, framed by long lashes, were a mesmerizing shade of hazel, reflecting warmth and kindness. They held a mischievous glimmer that hinted at a playful spirit beneath her gentle demeanor. Her rosy cheeks were adorned with a dusting of freckles, adding a youthful charm to her overall look.
She was dressed in a fashionable mini dress, accentuating her figure. The dress hugged her curves in all the right places, showcasing her slender waist and graceful silhouette.
Their eyes locked, and a whirlwind of emotions engulfed them both. There was an undeniable recognition between them, a deep-rooted connection that even time couldn't erase. They had once shared laughter, happiness, and love, intertwining their lives in a profound way. They had spent nights together, wrapped in each other's arms, finding solace and comfort in their embrace. The memories of their intimate moments were etched in their minds, impossible to forget.
"Sophia," Allen murmured, his voice filled with a mix of longing and pain. Her name escaped his lips involuntarily, dredging up a wave of bittersweet memories that tugged at his heart.
The image of returning to their shared apartment, only to find her entangled with another man, pierced through his chest like a knife. The betrayal had cut deep, leaving a wound that had yet to heal. He tightened his fists, feeling the raw surge of anger coursing through his veins. But amidst the turmoil, a strange calmness washed over him, numbing the pain and shielding him from the storm of emotions. His once warm gaze turned icy, a shield against vulnerability.
Sophia's eyes mirrored a mixture of surprise, regret, and a touch of sadness. She had never expected to see Allen again after all this time, overpowering any sense of composure she had left. The shock of seeing Allen again, alive and seemingly well, mingled with the overwhelming happiness that swelled within her.
"Allen," she whispered, her voice filled with a mixture of relief and joy. Her fears of him spiraling into darkness after her betrayal had haunted her for so long. But as she looked at him now, she couldn't help but notice the transformation he had undergone. He exuded a newfound confidence, a rugged masculinity that added an edge to his demeanor. It was a side of him she had never seen before, and it both intrigued and captivated her.
Gilbert's interruption broke the silence, his keen observation not missing the connection between Allen and Sophia. Their words hinted at something more than mere friendship. The unspoken tension that hung in the air confirmed his suspicions.
"So, you two know each other?" Gilbert chimed, a mischievous glint in his eyes. The way they addressed each other, the intensity of their gaze—it was evident that their history ran deeper than mere acquaintances.
Allen turned towards Gilbert, his expression caught between hesitation and a desire to reveal the truth. "She is my..." he began, intending to define their relationship, but before he could utter the words, Sophia closed the distance between them.
"Allen, I'm so glad to see you!" she opened her arms wide and enveloped Allen in a tight embrace. The longing she had carried within her for so long spilled out at that moment, evident in the way she held him close.
Yet Allen's gaze remained fixed, his demeanor unyielding. He didn't reciprocate Sophia's hug or show any signs of warmth. He stood there like a statue, his arms firmly at his sides, refusing to give in to the emotions welling up inside him. He had built walls around his heart to protect himself from the pain and betrayal he had experienced in the past.
"Release me. We aren't dating anymore," he commanded in a cold voice.
His coldness sent a sharp pang through Sophia's heart. She had hoped for a different reaction, maybe a glimmer of forgiveness or a hint of the love they had once shared. But instead, she was met with icy indifference, a painful reminder of the hurt she had caused. She quickly released her hold and stepped back, her eyes downcast with regret.
"Sorry," she muttered, her voice laced with nerves. She couldn't blame him for his response; she knew that the blame rested squarely on her shoulders. She had shattered their relationship with her own actions, and forgiveness wasn't something that could be easily earned or expected.
His eyes fixed on her, scanning her face for any signs of deception or hidden motives. "So Yora is you?" he confirmed, still struggling to process the fact that the girl he once knew as a game-hating nag was now standing in front of him as a fellow player.
She nodded, her gaze downcast. "Yeah, it's me," she admitted, her voice tinged with a mixture of embarrassment and vulnerability.
"I thought you hated games," he remarked, a hint of irony lacing his words. He remembered all the times she would complain and nag whenever he indulged in his gaming sessions. It was hard for him to reconcile that image with the reality of her being an active player now.
A small, sheepish smile tugged at Yora's lips. "Well, people change," she replied, her voice filled with a touch of self-deprecation. "I guess I needed something to keep my mind busy, especially..." Her voice trailed off, her words catching in her throat. It was difficult for her to voice the reason behind her sudden interest in gaming, as it meant acknowledging the recent breakup with David.
Gilbert's eyebrows knitted together in confusion as he glanced back and forth between Allen and Sophia. The realization hit him like a bolt of lightning. "Wait, if Allen is your ex, does that mean you started playing games because you broke up with him?" he blurted out, unable to contain his curiosity any longer. Sophia had never mentioned her ex's name before, but from Allen's earlier words, Gilbert had put the pieces together. Or so he thought.
Allen's gaze hardened, his lips forming a tight line. "I see... So, you've broken up with that man," he stated, his words devoid of any sympathy. Despite his attempt at politeness, his tone hinted at a hidden resentment.
