Vampire Nightlife

Chapter 9 Meeting The Hot NEET

It was a boring day for her. Always at home and never doing anything—that was the life for her. She didn't need to do anything.

Everything could easily be delivered to her room. She didn't need to keep in contact with friends—she was set for life and so that was why when he opened the door? It changed everything.

Chaerin blinked as she stared at the CCTVs in her office and saw the door open to one of the tenants, her heart pounded and made flips.

She didn't know him well.

However, it didn't matter.

Chaerin found herself looking at Lukas as he stepped out of his apartment unit and left.

That was enough to make her upset and miss him terribly.

"How can he leave me alone when the two of us just met?" Chaerin whispered to herself and finally left her seat.

She stretched her arms and arched her back, the hoodie falling across her thighs lightly as she pushed back her dark red hair behind an ear.

"You know, I don't usually get my ass off for anyone else. He needs to feel grateful, I need to follow him fast." Chaerin smiled and quickly headed out of the apartment. Her barefoot trudged on the beautiful rug as she passed by the mirror and then headed off to make her chase.

Daughter of the landlord, Chaerin lived the life of a NEET who didn't need to find a job as the rent of the tenants meant she only needed to collect money—but for the first time? It was as if the appearance of a young man around her age seemed to trigger something within her.

The first destination brought Lukas and Chaerin to the building that belonged to the Hunters and while Lukas immediately entered, Chaerin stopped and only frowned as she stuck close to one of the buildings. Her vision sharpened and she gritted her teeth when she saw a green haired lady at the counter assist Lukas.

"What... what is he doing here? Is he a Hunter? No. He would have had a cloak if that was the case." Chaerin said to herself as she eyed the jeep of professionals head out to outside the city of Lux.

Without any prior knowledge, most of its people would be hard pressed to know what awaited them beyond the walls, but she immediately flinched and looked away.

"If not for the power of the Almighty Lords, our kind would have already—" Chaerin shook her head and concentrated on the walls. It was thick and hard to pierce through, no matter how powerful the vision sadly.

When Chaerin got herself tested—no, Chaerin didn't get herself tested because she didn't want to be cajoled into doing tasks for their city, but as far as she knew, she had talent in Manipulation. Her eyes sharpened immensely due to her skills in body change—but now it was useless due to the building's security. She cursed herself and wondered what kind of salacious things that green-haired woman was trying to do to Lukas and it made her frown.

"I... I barely know him, and yet I feel so drawn to him." Chaerin realized and placed a hand on her chest.

"It's like I found a mate... or a prey." Chaerin admitted to herself and the realization of that made her chuckle.

There were Lycans who said that the Moon Goddess blessed them with partners, and if their race was also borne out of the Moon Goddess' power, then it meant that out of all the Vampires in the city—there was one person and it just so happened to Chaerin that it was him.

She didn't even know that his name was Lukas—and she knew that she needed to approach him to actually make a move, but her own body seemed to freeze when she saw him walk out of the Professional Hunters Building and then head off elsewhere.ραпdα `nᴏνɐ| сom

She watched him head into Daddy Jones' bar and paused.

"Is he... a client there? No, he's not dressed for it." Chaerin said. "It seems like he's job hunting... Chelsea is there."

Chaerin had a sister who grew up normally, and so, if that was the case, she made it a point to contact her.

The pink-haired Vampire stepped out of the bar and came across a red-haired Vampire barefoot in the street.

Chelsea groaned and threw her a look. "What actually pushed you to go out this time, Chaerin? Don't tell me you came here to see me because I won't believe that."

"Switch places with me." Chaerin said.

"What?"

"Give me your clothes." Chaerin ran her fingers through her hair and the red hue of her hair lightened. "I want to try and experience what it's like to have a job as a server."

"That's..." Chelsea looked at her older sister with a look of hesitation.

Ever since their parents disappeared, Chaerin failed to hold up the position of an older sister—it was Chelsea who acted as the mature one, but now her sister was finally showing some interest in something else beyond simply staying cooped up at home.

Chelsea knew that she was going to get an earful from Daddy Jones if she let Chaerin be the server for the night, but she was tempted to give in to her sister's whim.

"Fine. Let's do it, but only for ten minutes, max—alright? If you mess things up and make me lose my job—I'll make your life a living pain."

Chaerin smiled brightly at her younger sister. "You got it."

The two of them entered the women's bathroom and exchanged clothes, Chaerin now dressed in the server's attire.

"We have a new employee—well, he's still on probation, his name is Lukas..." Chelsea started and then looked at her sister's face. "Chaerin?"

"So that was his name. It's lovely."

"Wait, wait you know him—"

"He's a tenant."

"Please don't tell me that he's the real preoccupation you have now."

Chelsea's words fell into deaf ears as Chaerin stepped out and disappeared in the crowd.
