Leonardo Aurelius stared at his grandson and watched his reaction, and immediately sighed. He truly didn't believe that Von Elias was someone similar to a womanizer, and yet he had still tested it to see if his grandson was just good at hiding it.
The blank and frozen expression on Elias' face was indicative of what he was thinking.
He was paralyzed and in a state of shock over what his grandfather concluded because it was completely out of touch with what Elias was as a person.
Well-loved and adored by the people of Nyx, it was perhaps easy to assume that he'd take advantage of his position and use it to get what he wanted… but he never really had interest in those sort of things.
This was their own little family dilemma.
However, Lukas was the one who rubbed his ears and glanced at the blond Vampire again and then towards the older Vampire.
"Weisse…? You mean, Serena?" Lukas asked. They were intended for one another?
"Huh. So you've shared and confided with your friend." Leonardo murmured.
"That's not… This isn't…" Elias regained his composure, but still shook his head. He tried to motion to Lukas but saw the man ready to slip away.
Lukas knew that none of this was his business, and Serena was free to get engaged to whoever she was supposed to get engaged with. It probably happened even when they were little kids or something.
What was important was for him to get away.
But unfortunately, Elias suddenly latched onto his wrist with a vice-like grip.
"I didn't come here to talk about Lady Weisse, grandfather!" Elias said aghast.
ƥαṇdα- ηθνε|·ƈθm Leonardo Aurelius glanced at the joined hands between the two young Vampires and his brows furrowed together. Surely… that wasn't the case?
But was that perhaps the reason why Von was vehemently against the marriage too?
Actually, it was the first time that Leonardo encountered Von's, 'friend', and that should have alarmed him beforehand.
What if the two were actually?
Leonardo's head started to spin into a certain direction and he rested a hand against his forehead.
"What matters to me is that we have heirs, Von. Proper heirs." The Overlord said with a careful expression. "What I wanted to say is that what you want to do… or whom you want to do in your spare time is not of importance to me as long as you fulfill your duties."
"This is all a misunderstanding! I did not come here to discuss anything like that at all!" Elias let out a sigh, and then quickly let go of Lukas. He pointed a finger at him instead. "This person is…"
"That person is a criminal, Overlord!" Iolathane Durand suddenly bursted behind Elias and bowed severely to the old man. "Forgive me, I did not think that he would come all the way here, but have you apprehended him already?"
"What? Criminal? Him?" Leonardo glanced at Lukas with a frown.
Lukas could have sweated right about now, but only grimaced and glanced at Elias instead.
Elias noticed the look that Lukas threw him and frowned. It was clear that he was asking for help, and yet Elias didn't know the extent of what he had done.
"Surely this… this isn't as big of a problem is it?" Elias said reluctantly. He would have gotten Lukas arrested then and there, but he remembered the two Vardoken siblings and preferred to still meet with them.
Hopefully, these two were less invasive than the Vampire with him right now.
"This Vampire has trespassed into your property, but the jurisdiction lies with you." Iolathane said, noticing the way that Lukas seemed familiar with Elias. However, she straightened up. "However, for the damage that has incurred for the Argenti House's building and the street is mostly under the jurisdiction of the Durands."
"You did what?" Elias stared down at Lukas.
"He damaged the Argenti building?" Leonardo raised a brow.
"Yes." Iolathane frowned.
"Interesting."
Contrary to the expectations of the two younger Vampires, Elias and Iolathane, there was almost an amused tone in the old man's voice.
Lukas' eyes bulged as well, but then he remembered how the old Vampire seemed to thirst for adventure and excitement… and he had been the source for all of that. Like a tasteful blood pool.
"How did this happen?" Leonardo asked.
"Grandfather…" Elias tried to say, apprehensive, but the Overlord's eyes were not on him.
"It's—" Iolathane tried to speak.
"Not you. Him. Explain." Leonardo turned to Lukas. "How did this all happen?"
"I uh, wanted to meet with your grandson, but traveling on foot seemed like a pain with all the traffic so I thought that it'd be easier to leap from one building into another until I reached here."
"That's not an achievable feat these days, isn't it?" Leonardo said, glancing at Iolathane.
"N-not at all, Overlord. We strictly prohibited it too due to the inherent danger it poses not only to those who attempt to do it, but those who are accidentally injured."
"And yet you were capable of doing it." Leonardo eyed Lukas with a hint of pride that was clearly misplaced.
Elias looked like he was ready to protest again, but then the Overlord's expression turned serious and grave. It sent a shudder down the spine of the three Vampires and it reminded Elias why his grandfather was one of the Overlords of Nyx.
"And the street? Did anyone get injured?" Leonardo asked in a measured tone.
"… No, but the street has a crater, Overlord." Iolathane said.
"Hmmm, so the citizens of Nyx are unharmed." Leonardo mused aloud. "I suppose that would make him a criminal, but he hasn't actually harmed anyone. Does he really need to be taken away to the precinct? He only wanted to visit my grandson, Miss Durand."
"That's—!" Iolathane wanted to argue. This was clearly against the law and the Aurelius Overlord was someone who didn't use special treatment at all…
"I have no issue with it." Leonardo waved a hand. "The street can be repaired. What else?"
