Chapter 500 500. SPIRIT CORES

Prion stayed silent before Noah as he spoke. He had accepted his fate. Only it felt unreal that a mere lower-stage cultivator would render him to such a state.

"What shall be done to you," Noah stated straightening his position. He had been seated throughout the explanation.

Prion remained silent, well aware of the reality of his situation.

"Would you have killed me were I in your position?" Noah asked tilting his head to the side. He knew the answer to it. There was war, and from what he had said, killing other tier 4's wouldn't be against the set rules.

"I would have," Prion replied lowering his gaze. His entire existence had gone somber. Truthfully speaking a part of him wanted to fight back. But from what he had seen of the entity before him; he was reasonable and unhindered by emotions. But also powerful.

Prion feared having to go through all that suffering, he knew for one that Noah seemed like the type to give a quick death. And his logic wasn't far from the truth.

"You have spoken the truth," Noah announced. "I'm inclined to not make you suffer." He raised his hand and silver sparks appeared on it.

"Before you move on, I have a question. And I ask that you honor it," Prion announced, interrupting Noah's action. His tone was stern and his expression was nigh-uncaring.

"Go on," Noah entertained the expert, Lowering his hand to stop the sparks from accumulating. The shimmering blueness of the water around them remained evident and even dominant. It gave that scene a mystical and magical vibe.

"How is it that you don't know of all these?" Prion asked genuinely curious.

"I recently returned from my advancement into the fourth tier," Stated Noah. "Merely about two weeks ago."

His words brought forth a wave of shock unto the Elf's face. A level of astonishment he had not felt in a long while made itself known in his aged mind.

'Merely two weeks ago!' Prion couldn't take in that revelation so easily. He struggled to believe him. Unfortunately, Noah exuded an undeniable aura of honesty. He was plain before him.

"What will you do now?' He asked seeing the being before him in a new light.

"I'll find my guild, the divine lightning guild. I believe most of their anger is due to the fact that they thought I died. It's a long story you won't be able to hear about," Noah explained in a matter-of-fact tone.

"You're the member that was rumored to have been killed in the attack!" Prion exclaimed. His words claimed Noah's attention.

"I was the only one from my guild in the group," Noah explained. "Why?"

Prion's expression turned darker at that point.

"The Divine lightning guild has been rumored to want to launch an attack on a large base even farther towards the edge of this nation. It'll be a big event, so much so that reinforcement is being called upon from the other bases."

"The great guild has deployed some of the most terrifying individuals. I understand your power now that you revealed you're one of them. You all are freaks. I see,"

"Yes. We aren't a great guild for nothing," Noah gave a cold laugh recalling the experts from the guild. They would have grown in power. He wished he felt excited to meet them. He had to find them first.

He had an Idea.ραпdα `nᴏνɐ| сom

"Do you know where my guild is? I heard they moved from their last position," Noah made known his thoughts.

"I know not," Prion stated.

Noah nodded his head.

"I'll end your life now," Noah announced lifting his left palm, but the expert interrupted him again.

"Your actions will cause trouble for the Orphos city. They know you'll be headed there, so they'll attack. They've been holding back, but my death; our death, will trigger them. Losing eight tier fours to one man is a great loss even for us," Prion explained.

"I understand. Thank you for making it known to me."

"The least I'll do to help is wipe them out. I am capable," Noah explained.

"Those are some cocky words. But you've proven that you can handle yourself," Prion burst into melancholic laughter. "I pity those who'll approach you with the mindset I had." He shook his head, suddenly getting an intense desire to witness how far that entity would go in life.

He believed the forces of the elves would tremble at his power. For it truly was great.

"Thank you for your help," Noah announced with finality in his tone. He raised his palm and saw Prion bow his head.

Sparks crackled in his palm, but he stretched forth his other hand to allow a beam of cold mist burst forth, turning the elf into solid ice.

The sparks in his hand went forward with shattering might, to make that figure crumble.

Noah failed to gain but he believed he was close to one.

Unlike humans, elves did not have mana cores, and their only source of power would be their spirit being, which resided in their spirit core.

Noah had noticed those shiny blue objects fly into his inventory after he killed those seven elves, but only now could he properly study them, even if he already knew what they were thanks to Ersha's memories.

Spirit cores, unlike mana cores, were more or less like the soul cores of humans. The only difference was that one was only a portion of the human's power, while the other contained the fullness of the elf's power.

Noah could eat the energy within it, although a lot of filtering would be needed since Elves were more like Speedlings. Only favored by mana.

He stored the spirit core which held the connection to Cregar itself. He would deal with that matter later.

Noah emerged from the water silently. Ascended above the trees and sprinted towards the city in the distance.

Thanks to Prion's words he knew what to expect, and he owed the city and its residents help. He needed help from a certain woman after all.
