Since Jake had mastered his claymore a long time ago and he couldn't use his sword with the shield, Jake switched to his katana and kite shield. While his guard was raised, he watched the monster and waited for its actions. Usually, he wouldn't wait for an attack, but a boss with that level of power needed to be treated properly. Caution was absolutely necessary since Jake couldn't see its skills yet. He had to learn and watch that thing as much as possible before going to the kill... While that would make things easier, it also would make it more fun since he would see all that the creature could do. It would be rude not to properly enjoy the entire situation.

In the end, Jake did the right thing. Without even moving, the boss fired an Ice Arrow toward Jake, but the projectile was blocked. Soon after, the creature summoned an Ice Punch. This time, the attack had more power behind it, and then Jake was pushed back a little bit, but his health bar still was fine.

The creature raised its face in interest since it didn't expect that a single man could block its attacks. Still, it got even more surprising when Louise fired an extra-large Fireball. Although the monster had been caught slightly surprised, the creature reacted on time to touch the ground with its claw and then raised an ice wall to block the attack.

"This motherfucker is testing us…" Jake thought.

The ice wall blocked the attack completely, but it quickly began to melt as well since Louise had used the monster's mana against it. In any case, blocking the attacks up close would be a pain, but Jake couldn't let a fucking digital monster mess with him. So, he dashed toward the creature and swung his sword. The monster blocked the attack with one of its pawns but then regretted it a little since Jake's katana almost cut off one of its fingers. The pain made the creature's eyes burn with anger. It seemed that the monster finally decided to fight him seriously.

The monster swung its left pawn to hit Jake, but he stroked back by using his katana and Bash. Despite that, Jake was pushed to the side for several meters. Louise used that chance to fire a Poison Bullet, and she hit the monster's face, but her attack barely caused any damage. Not to mention, the damage over time never took place. The boss had more than a little resistance against poison…

Louise clenched her teeth in exasperation. The monster had too much health, so firing several poison projectiles might be a bit more effective than a concentrated strike that could be blocked like Fireball.

Instead of approaching Jake, the boss touched its right pawn on the ground, and then an ice spear rose from it and flew toward Jake. He blocked the attack once again, but he felt his shield freezing a little bit. Not to mention, the impact made his entire arm shake as he was pushed backward.

"Physically and magically strong… now we are talking," Jake smiled viciously.

Jake swung his katana and then used Mana Blade. The boss used one of its pawns to block the attack, and while the creature succeeded, it lost sight of Jake for a moment, and he was no longer in the place he had been before. Jake had jumped, and when he began to fall, he slashed his katana toward the monster's face. Still, the creature noticed and reacted on time to fire some Ice Punches toward Jake since the creature was tired of hurting its paws.

The sheer impact of the projectiles moved Jake away from the boss, and while he blocked most of the attacks, he still lost sixty points of health thanks to three projectiles alone. The creature fired two Ice Spears toward Jake, and he blocked them with his shield. This time he didn't suffer damage since Lana used Barrier on time.

While that happened, Louise fired an extra-large Fireball toward the monster, and while it hit and exploded, the burn marks were too small… the creature only lost one hundred points of health. That astonished Louise since the attack took several seconds to be charged, and the monster didn't have the chance to defend it.

"Focus, Louise!" Lana said while she was pointing toward Jake, who was being bombarded by several Ice Arrows and forced to assume a defensive stance.

Louise finally recovered and began to drain some mana of the ice arrows, and that gave Jake some room to breathe. Thanks to that, the boss looked at her, annoyed, but only for a moment since Jake used Mana Blade, and the attack exploded in the face of the boss.

"I don't do well when I am ignored," Jake said.

The monster looked even more annoyed at Jake. Meanwhile, Jake was impressed… to think that developers would create a boss with such an attitude. The AI of the creature made it look like it was really alive… when Jake thought that, he realized that it was weird that the boss wasn't alive. The whole game was too realistic for its own good. Nevertheless, such thoughts disappeared from Jake's mind when the boss raised both paws and then strong the ground with all its might. The whole dungeon began to tremble, and then Jake heard the sound of the stalactites falling.

"Son of a bitch…" Jake said and then ran toward where the girls were.

Still, in the end, Jake only wasted his time and got hit some of those since Louise destroyed the ones that were about to hit her with Fireballs, and Lana blocked the others with Barrier.
