Eventually, Jake got up and checked the rewards that he had received. The magic item didn't seem that useful, but not that bad either. In the end, the real rewards were the spear and the crossbow he took from the enemy. That was fine on itself, since he knew that he couldn't be greedy and most items wouldn't help him much anyway.

"Not bad, I guess…" Jake said and then sighed. "Putting that aside, I wonder why I always feel unmotivated after completing the quests… it is like my levels of dopamine drop to zero. I guess I enjoy the tension of the battles too much."

Jake wasn't treating his body well lately, with all that crazy fighting and wounds that he got. Jake needed to train more between the dungeon bosses… he was too impatient for that, though. Regardless, after cleaning his body and his wounds. Jake followed his usual routine. He looked over the herbs, made some potions, cooked some meat, and then went to sleep…

"I thought that life would be more simple here…" Jake thought and then sighed before he fell asleep.

When Jake got up, he forgot that Magnus was also teleported with him, and while he was working, his partner stayed at the top of his head. He didn't know if summoned monsters needed food, but he sure looked normal. Making Magnus grow and lose that cuteness seemed like a waste, but not feeding him seemed a lot more cruel.

"Let's start the day with meat for breakfast because that is what real men do, Magnus," Jake said.

"Au!" Magnus barked.

That wasn't something that Jake used to do, but the fact that he didn't have much variety was a fact, so he had to make it do with what he had. In any case, the wound in his chest was mostly healed, but it seemed the scar wouldn't leave him alone for months. Jake didn't have any other scar from battles, and while it was true that that one was probably the closest he got to dying until now, he still thought that it would disappear one day. Recovery and healing spells were that much more powerful.

While Jake was cooking, he decided to check his progress on the last mission… it wasn't half bad. Now in basically of parameters alone, he was almost at the same level as the monsters. Still, since he already had a better kit of skills, most ordinary monsters couldn't scratch him. He could tell that he was getting stronger, but it seemed that he was going to die soon if the difficulty of the boss battles kept increasing at that pace.

Nevertheless, Jake made Magnus eat a bit, and he could see his parameters increasing… it was a bit weird that summons could level up by eating other monsters. Speaking of which, Jake decided to summon another at the current level of the skill, and he found another crystal wolf a few levels higher and a bit bigger as well.

"As expected, just like children, they lose their cuteness when they become bigger… Fortunately, I guess monsters don't become rebellious once they reach, and they become teenagers…" Jake nodded to himself.

Putting such thoughts aside, Jake realized that he could make those guys pretty useful for crowd control… if he only were willing to use them against powerful mobs… Jake would obtain a profitable source of income, but that would make his other skills level up slower. It would be better to use the small fries to level up the skills that he rarely used, at least for now.

In any case, since those two could follow him no matter where he went using the system, Jake decided to teach them a few tricks. His plan was to teach, but they could easily follow his voiced orders to catch things. So, they probably could gather the loot for him as well.

"I guess this isn't so bad… but I should find other ways to make you guys work," Jake thought.
