In the end, Jake spent the rest of the day hunting the grizzlies and leveling up his new skills. However, he stopped at night because he felt that his Cold Resistance had leveled up plenty for a single day and because he didn't want to feel his balls freezing again, it was a feeling that he didn't wish even his worst enemy to feel…

Jake made sure to level up all classes evenly, even though he focused on the low-level ones that would make him stronger and faster. Nevertheless, he didn't make as much progress as he wanted, even though his status grew greatly. He was probably unhappy because the boss was the one who helped most with that. He knew that he would need to face more opponents of that level to obtain the same results, but it would be hard for his body to withstand that kind of battle often.
"I wonder who the next boss will be on that dungeon… I need to check it later," Jake thought.
Jake went and looked at the quest list again, and he ended up selecting the last one as usual. He could face the frozen grizzlies whenever he wanted. Still, Jake also felt that he should unlock new locations… he needed to confirm the things that Frederick had said, and he also had to sell the loot that he obtained. For that to happen, he had to look for new civilizations.
As soon as Jake was teleported, he realized that something was off. He was supposed to hunt undead trents, but he found himself in the middle of an area with numerous groves brimming with life. When he left the one that he had appeared in, Jake found a walled city in the distance, it was pretty large, but he didn't find any buildings that could stand out like a castle.
"Hmm… I guess I got lucky. Unless they know of the bad reputation and the problems of some humans are causing, I should be able to do business here," Jake thought.
After looking around for a while, Jake found some moving trees here and there, they were probably his targets, but it was hard to say from which direction they came from. Nevertheless, the dungeon shouldn't be far away, so someone in that city was supposed to know where Jake could find it.
"Usually, a place like this would be a good gathering spot for humans since they wouldn't have to start from zero, but it is weird that I can't see a single sign of their actions anywhere… perhaps they didn't want to cause problems to the people thereby changing the environment."
Jake would need to do some more research and gather intel, but that place truly was bugging him. There were many things that he couldn't understand… one of them was the fact as to why the people of that city wouldn't clear the dungeon every week… unless something happened to them, they should be strong enough to deal with the dungeon and its monsters.
"Well, let's approach it and see if I can talk with someone," Jake thought.
The first impression is the key, so Jake couldn't look suspicious while approaching that city. Fortunately, aside from his gloves, boots, and sword, he looked perfectly normal. He had yet to find a better armor after the previous was destroyed by Vare, so he looked like a fool or someone confident that he wouldn't be hit in his torso no matter what.
While Jake was approaching, he had a good feeling coming from the city. He could see some guards on the walls, and they only looked at him without drawing their weapons. It was hard to say since they were wearing armor, but while they looked humanoid, they had a lot of brown fur on their bodies. Jake also had the impression that he saw a tail moving around their back.
Eventually, Jake reached one of the entrances of the city and then he saw the guards looking at him. Now that he was this close, he could see that they looked like bipedal lions. They had a lot of fur around their head and neck, and they were all at least seven feet high. Also, they looked naturally buffy.
"Hello, my name is Jake, and I am a traveler," Jake said.
"... Have you come to clear the dungeon?" One of the guards asked. "It is in that direction."
"I see… Thanks for informing me of that," Jake said. "Is it rare for you guys to receive visitors that look like me?"
"No, some have already arrived, and they usually sell the materials obtained here after a while," The guard replied.
It looked like humans hadn't caused problems there yet, but the guards still were guarded. That was either their nature, or they had some trouble with other species. Still, Jake would have to face some of the monsters before he had the chance to sell things in the city. Fortunately, that wasn't something uncommon, so he just had to be patient.
"... it is tiring to be so polite all the time," Jake thought while he moved in the direction the guard pointed.
