Cole did not say anything as he observed the bloody battlefield, he was happy, because even without him present his people had gone up against what was probably insurmountable odds and yet they still came out on top, they were not just holding their own against a ,much stronger opponent, they were actually winning, and far be it for him to come and mess with an equation that works quite well.
"You Cowards! Why do you choose someone to face me one on one! None of you have any honor, and you Cole are you going to prove my point, pick up the scraps and attack me while I am weak and down, is that what you all Raens are about!" from where she was standing, she was looking up at all of them. Cole not more than a few feet in front of her, his hands in his pocket, Eze and Farida in the air looking like a blazing sun god and an avenging angel.
Cassandra had perched on one of the trees around, her bow's string pulled back with an arrow trained on the Pontifex. Thunder-Jack was a little but to Cole's side, his spear held to the size but with little arcs of lightning dancing around his body. Tehila was still behind the gates, her form covered by the massive Mechanoid Direwolf in front of her and the equally massive Cyber Dog by her side. Irma and Pollux were on the gates above Tehila, their hair and eyes ablaze with the power of their phoenix flames.
Behind Cole as if to prove she was truly his shadow and nothing else Delarosa stood behind him, her demonic sword pointed to the ground as she glared at the Pontifex. On the other hand the Pontifex felt as if she was in a living nightmare. Apart from the oracle, everyone here could match her in strength. She felt she was special, she felt that perhaps only Cole would be able to deal with her, and even then he would not be able to defeat her.
But she was wrong, she had taken hits and dished it out to each and every single one of them…..maybe Cole and Eze should be taken out of the equation as they were not here before, but the rest of them were just as much monsters as Cole himself was. They could take her hits and give it back to her in equal measure, but where they couldn't kill her, she couldn't kill them either. She had gotten serious, but from the looks of everyone else here they had not, except for the oracle, but the woman was a weakling, so there was no need to worry the fuck about her.
ραndαsΝοvεl.cοm But Ultimately she realized that she was right, this Raen Valley was truly a place of crouching tigers and hidden dragons, but above all….they were monsters. And they were all looking at her like a piece of meat ready to be torn apart. The Pontifex was not stupid, there was no way in hell she was going to die here after struggling so hard to survive.
"I don't see why I should interfere with a working arrangement. So as you elegantly out it, I don't need to pick up the scraps, after all they are just scraps and I am worth more than that. But my friends on the other hand are not too happy with your existence, so Eze and I will 'Conveniently take ourselves out of the equation. You should have fun." Cole said to her as he turned smoothly, changing positions with Delarosa who was ready to rip the Pontifex to pieces.
"Wait! I surrender! I surrender! Myself and everything I have built and gained control off, I offer it all up, along with my body and eternal devotion. Spare my life great Lord and all this will be yours to command, myself included." she said as she bowed, her bloodied body healing rapidly as her astounding but still eerie beauty was let on display, however.
"No!" Tehila spoke as she stepped out through the gates to look at the cowering Blood Mage. "You tired to kill me, you will pay for that. And I did say today you will die, and you will! Or does someone else have other plans?" Tehila asked as she turned her attention to Cole who suddenly felt as if someone had a loaded gun with a world ending bullet in the chamber pointed at his head. He shook his head rapidly as he turned to the side and muttered to himself.
"Women."
Tehila ignored the jab at her as Delarosa, made her move. Her body seemed to fade, twisting the perception of everyone around as the woman took a step forwards and appeared in front of the Pontifex. Her sword stabbing forwards in a manner that seemed slow but at the same time was extremely fast.
A blood shield came up, but the sword still smashed through it as the Pontifex was pushed backwards, but Delarosa followed after her, the Pontifex was very good at ambush attacks as she could even go so far as attack with the blood that was in a person's veins. She was powerful, in an absolutely horrifying kind of way, but then again this also made it that Delarosa was the best person to deal with her.
She also had blood in her veins, but not the kind the Pontifex could easily manipulate or control if at all. Delarosa was a creature of the shadow, a manifestation of poison and darkness that could and would swallow everything in her sight. In other parts of the universe there was a name for what Delarosa was, an entity and being so corrupted and swallowed by the shadow that all she was, is the element itself on a fundamental and biological level…..the ultimate Assassin.
Delarosa vanished mid way through her attack, surprising the Pontifex as she turned to defend against an attack that was sure to come from her own shadow. But she was wrong, any shadow, even one that has been cast by the smallest pebble was enough for Delarosa, and it was a shadow from a piece of branch on the ground that her blade came out of and sunk into the Pontifex's stomach, introducing Demonic Raen Poison and putting an exclamation mark on this fight….for good!
