[You Have Reached Level 73! Rewards Deferred Until Racial Upgrade!]
Cole blinked, looks like he was right in time for another power up. He could not wait to see just what he would become now, the climb in his racial upgrade all the way to level 100 has been amazing. The potential of his race was one no one could contest or deal with, it had limitless potential, but perhaps eventually he would grow to the end of the line, what that end was he didn't know yet, but at the very least he would not be finding it from level 70.
"I'll need to upgrade my race Neral, I should be back in a few hours." Cole did not even give the cyber dog any time to react and neither did he go put himself somewhere more secure as Cole initiated the upgrade immediately. Immediately a blackish red cocoon releasing trace amount of blue energy covered Cole. And just in time too as the rest of Cole's subordinates arrived, but Cole had already ran away, leaving Neral to deal with the aftermath of territory's sudden expansion, and not one but twice.
[Upgrade Commencing! 12:58:33]
Cole opened his eyes and stretched, then he got off from his bed and left the room going to look for Tehilla. He found her not too long after looking at a shipping manifest, there was a man besides her, a captain of a merchant vessel. He had arrived yesterday and for some reason seemed to be getting along well with Tehilla. But Cole was a man, he could see the look in the man's eyes, the greed, the want, the lust…..it pissed him off.
He growled to himself, but still loud enough that it had announced his presence to them. Tehilla looked up and gave Cole a bright smile. All of a sudden Cole seemed to forget what it was that he was angry about, as he suddenly found himself lost in her eyes and her soft smile. She was happy to see him, it was not an emotion she could hide from him at all, not one bit, after all he was a Raen Demon, and one of their selling points was their freaking ability to smell or sense emotions.
He suddenly felt bashful all of a sudden as his stomach relegated itself to performing summersaults with every second he spent looking at her. Her smile grew wider, she too could feel his emotions, and it amused her greatly but still have off a kind of warmth Cole was now beginning to recognize she only gave for him. It was crazy, they just had an entire heartfelt conversation without even opening their mouths to say anything, for Cole this was the sweetest he has felt in a long time.
"What's up?" Cole asked, as Tehilla clapped him on the shoulder like they were bros instead of lovers and handed the manifest to him. Rather than let him find out for himself, she started explaining.
"Business is moving, with this asteroid belt and colony now open once again for mining operations. I've had to negotiate dozens of trade deals and then welcome an influx of privateers who want a slice of the pie. As it stands 75% of all mining operations are being handled by independent contractors, though 75% of what they mine is ours, and the remaining 25 is theirs.
Of course that's just for the first two years, after that it's a sixty, forty split for the next five years , and after that a 50-50 split to whenever the terms of their contracts would expire. We're taking in more money than I originally thought, plus the government has reached out to me. They want to build a refinery or at least help upgrade the one on the colony so that they can have a stake in what is obviously going to be a big buy.
Never the less with the way things are going I would have to really keep my focus here for the time being so that, things don't fall apart. It seems I would not be able to go back to earth with you love, at least not for another three months." Cole's mood changed almost immediately, as any positive feelings vanished as he locked gazes with Tehilla.
"If you're not ready to leave then I'll wait here with you. There's no rush, the world, heck the universe might be ending but I would still face it on my own pace. I can't leave you here alone, not when you're not yet strong enough to defend yourself." Cole said with a tone of finality, he did not want this to be an argument between the two of them, for her safety and one very crucial and important factor…..Cole could not face his family by himself, or rather it was Sarah, not without Tehilla, not without showing he could do better and that he was happy where he was.
Tehilla could feel it, she didn't say anything more though her eyebrows furrowed. The colony and the asteroid belt just came out from an extended stint of mismanagement. There was no way she could leave this place now, not without setting things in order and having someone she could trust in power. Perhaps it was not now, but she was banking on the fact that everything owned and gained would be consolidated in one area once the universe went to shit, but her attention was still needed.
But so too were projects on earth, Cole had to go seed a dungeon on earth that would connect to the other Universe. He didn't have much time left to do so, not to mention the massive amount of space they now had in the form over two dozen blocks of high rise apartments and abandoned industrial buildings. They had assets that they needed to take care of, and the only way they can do so, is to get someone they can trust to help.
"don't worry, we can figure it out, though we might not have any choice but to split up, we have too many things to work on and not enough time to do so." Tehilla said to Cole with a small smile, but all he said back in response was.
"We will figure it out."
